Dragon Age Inquisition Megathread: Bioware's Last Chance Edition

Does anyone know a relatively cheap place to preorder this?
Sorry to bump, but anyone else pre-ordered this? Release date in less than a week. I'm excited to play this.....
So far good reviews.
I've been too disappointed by Bioware's last few releases to pre-order one of their games again. I'm very optimistic about Inquisition but I can't actually bring myself to buy it before I read some opinions about the main quest as a whole.
I've read some great things about it too. It just bolstered my excitement even more.

There were great reviews for DA2 as well.
I pre-ordered the DDE. Rather excited.
This is what you get when you get the DDE. The arsenal is a pre-order bonus for both the standard and dde/

It's not the fact that they were great reviews, it's what they all said. The main story isn't so much the focus of the game as much as the side quests are. I like a game that has a lot of side quests. And I'm hoping they do more expansions like they did with Origins....
Hoping to high heaven that Bioware makes a comeback with Inquisition. I wanna fall in love with Dragon Age again

I think that's what we are all looking for....

I'm not here to dampen your excitement for the game, i'm really not. If you are excited for it, great, it's great to be excited for something. But the DA2 reviews gave the game ridiculously high scores and went on and on about almost the exact same things that these reviews are going on about.
All i'm saying is tread carefully.

As long as it's a solid and enjoyable game, I'll be content. I'm not looking for some groundbreaking new game technology here. I didn't find that DA:2 was bad. Could it have been better? Of course it could have. But that doesn't mean that it wasn't enjoyable.

Eh, I really didn't enjoy 2 at all. I was okay with it when i first played it, but upon reflection and a second playthrough, it really was bad in comparison to DA1. If the series had started off as DA2, it would have been fine, but it was such a downgrade and the writing was kind of crappy to me.
Most people aren't concerned with the game being groundbreaking, people just want a sequel that doesn't suck and actually lives up to the original
Definitely looking forward to this... I pre-ordered last night. Ready for a solid RPG to delve into.

Playing that game was like slapping my dick on the sidewalk for two hours and then wiping my ass with a chesse grater.
The only few redeemable things about that game were one or two of the party members. One of whom is returning as a party member in Inquisition, so at least they have that going for them.

See, now you, on the other hand, you should probably get your money back for that experience. I'm pretty sure the game didn't come pre-packaged with dick slapping or ass grating. Was that an expansion pack?????
Almost bought DA:O before realizing I got it for free from the Origin on the house program :v:
Is Dragon Age II worth playing through? I hear a lot of mixed things from the game and I want to know a lot of the back story before going through DA:I.
Honestly it depends on you. Being mature and not going for the omg its awesome or omg it sucks road, let me be blunt.
Your mileage will vary, the game was rushed within a year and it shows, while a fairly decent game with all that considered, environments (dungeons) are re-used a lot. Despite this, what IS there is very pretty, developed and full. Important areas like Kirkwall are unique and do not feel recycled at least from my partial playthrough (uninstalled not because I dislike it, but because I needed PC space for other things and I plan on replaying it soon).
The gameplay on PC is like Origins with tactical commands, but it does benefit I feel from the real-time system DA2 on consoles employed, as things like physical strikes and arrows only seem to hit, if they truly hit. The story feels fine to me and its more focused on individual stories and individual people and small groups, much like ME2. It is setting things up for future games/expansion while exploring the world on a more personal level.
I personally love it, and I love DA:O. I don't really see a lot of flaws in my play-through so far.

So basically, if you can get over some gripes and some concessions due to its short development span and also accept that its a more human story ala ME2 instead of a grandscale story, than you will be fine.
I tried Googling for an answer but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if you can customize your multiplayer character's appearance (body/face)?

I'm unsure myself I am pretty sure they are preset characters but I believe armor is choosable loot.

I probably give it a little more flak than it deserves, cuz at the very least it's playable and I imagine some people will probably like the story.
I think the disappointment I had from it makes me a lot harsher on it. I didn't appreciate a lot of the cut features and the writing kind of grated on me most of the time, especially with how some of them like Anders were changed. The locations got old for me too, something I never really felt in Origins. But you're pretty much right on it being an individual thing
I think maybe if it hadn't been rushed I would have liked it way more, but maybe new players won't be bothered as much

I really didn't like it but as doommarine said it's kind of a personal thing if you'll like it or not.
You'll probably wanna play it though cuz I'm pretty sure a lot of DA2's details are being used for DAI

I liked the mechanics and gameplay of DA2 over DA1. The UI is still one of the best looking IMO of any game. But it felt like that's all the focus was put on and they forgot that they also need to have a world to play with those mechanics in and just built one up in the last months of development. Story? What story?
that was a huge controversy in me3 tho, what with originally it was impossible to get the best ending without playing mp
I got the best ending on my first playthrough of the game without multiplayer. You just had to do every sidequest/delivery boy mission That said you could barely get it, I was over by like 30 points.
I wish the multiplayer game can affect the singleplayer and vice-versa.
That crap is awful. It's a cheap mechanic that just forces people that want nothing to do with a shitty horde mode(in ME3's case) multiplayer component to suffer through multiplayer for hours on end. ME3's multiplayer system was the most blatant form of "lol fuck you play our game for longer if you want the best ending" that i've ever seen done.
I really hope there's no Good/Evil Morality bar.
It was one of the Strengths of Origins.

The multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 was really good though. Probably the one area of the game that didn't have something completely awful. It even improved over time with all the free updates.
That's partly why I'm giving DAI a chance, if they take cues from Mass Effect the coop could be really good.
[editline]12th November 2014[/editline]
Though I don't want it to have an effect on the singleplayer either. Maybe have one of your multiplayer characters appear as a spy or resource that gives you a very minor boost (like +2 power or something small like that).
After clearing Origins and finding it absolutely stunning, but also discovering how the sequel was a very ... divisive game to say the least, I promised me to play Inquisition only if it was going to get good reviews
Whelp, I think I have to play the game now
Regarding Dragon Age II, what choices you made in Origins really matter and what happens if you decide not to import any save file?
(I have several games to clear already and undergoing Origins too once again would be incredibly time consuming. That said, I really want to change several things, notably my class, the circle's quest outcome and who gets to become king)

Dragon Age 2 is not directly related to Dragon Age Origins. The first act of the game happens during the time of the main Origins campaign so there's little crossover. Most of the effects are you'll find side characters related to Origins, for example of you choose Bhelin over Harrowmont as the new Dwarven king you'll find one of Harrowmont's cousins exiled to the surface and fleeing for his life.
Some of the bigger choices have an effect though. If you make Alistair king he'll show up at one point, but if he becomes a drunk he'll show up in a bar claiming he could have been king. If Zevran survives he'll show up in a sidequest. If you allow Avernus to continue his research you'll get an attribute potion in a sidequest.
And Leliana always shows up, even if she died in Origins. Which is odd because the Dragon Age Keep uses that information to import into Inquisition, and she's in that too, so they might have an explanation for that.
Are there no presets of choices to choose from?
Else, I'll have to play Origins all over again (nor that it's a bad thing)
You just had to do every sidequest/delivery boy mission
yeah fuck that
fuck that so hard
I wish the multiplayer game can affect the singleplayer and vice-versa. For example, in the SP, you can convert gold into tokens to use for the MP crates. In multiplayer, gold received from the co op missions is transferred to the SP campaign.
The reason that I stuck with playing ME3's co op because it helped with my SP campaign, even though it was optional. DA:I should also be like this too.
If the reason you stuck with ME3's co op was just that it helped with your SP campaign, and not just because you enjoyed playing it, I really can't understand how you liked it.
Like, this straight up sounds like Stockholm Syndrome.
