Man, Cole is nothing like I expected from that awful bio they made for him.
Everybody thought his bio was some deep metaphor about his feelings. Those who read Asunder, the novel he appears in, knew what to expect.
I'd say my trip with Dragon Age II is going smoothly
I don't know, maybe I didn't get to the suck part yet, but I'm actually enjoying myself this far: the story is a bit more personal and low fantasy than the one in Origins, the supporting cast seems strong enough (mind you, I didn't get Anders yet) and there are some points they polished pretty well (the dialogue wheel is an improvement, the new elven design is a bit alien but totally needed, the friendship/rival mechanic is interesting enough, ...)
Of course, the game looks definetely rushed. The graphics aren't as polished as you'd like them to be, the various locations are pretty straightforward and there is far less interaction with NPCs. Also, Hawke's male VA's acting quality shifts around between dialogues. Gameplay-wise, the whole system is definetelty tuned down: at this point I'm just right-clicking enemies with my trusty rogue without any effort and win fights. I plan to have a party made of Rogue!Hawke, Merrill as a dps mage, Aveline as a tank and ... sigh ... Anders as a healer. Of course, there are some enemies that requires me to actually use my skills (Revenants are fucking back and they live up to their fame once again)
On the bright side, Snarky!Hawke is the best thing that happened to me in videogames in a long time (given you get into it with moderation and don't become a bloody clown) and the moment I had my first conversation with Merrill I knew she was the one, like Morrigan before her
On other news, Aveline's current pants are invisible:

I don't get the Anders hate. He may not have been as good as he was in the last game but he was still cool to have about.
I especially liked having him around because he's possessed by Justice who was one of my favourite companions from Awakening.

He's worse
He's worse
That's an understatement.
My warden did straight sex with Leliana (and a threesome with Isabela).
My Hawke did clam squishing with Isabela (and a threesome with Zevran).
My Inquisitor will make Cassandra squeal like a Chantry choir, but there's no threesome in the game, sadly.
My Warden brought greater shame to her dead family by getting involved with Leliana and have true love and then having a foursome with Isabella and Zev, I couldn't deny him the foursome.
Hawke banged Merrill because elves are cute, Fendis is edgey, Fuck Andersa(non sexual), Isabella seemed like a 99% chance at getting an STD.
So I managed to finish the story (37 hours) and I have just realised I entirely missed Vivienne, I didn't see or hear of her. Where the hell was I supposed to meet/acquire her :v:?
Also while I'm here, here's my classy as fuck Qunari inquisitor, with less than classy face paint.

How much of the non-essential exploration/questing did you do in those 37 hours?

I did quite a lot at the start but as I progressed less and less so.
It's a shame they didn't smuggle this masterpiece into the game.

Not a lot if he missed a whole companion

Come on man, you should know not to stick your dick in crazy. I don't care how hot/cute they are, it's just not worth it.

True.
Contrary to what seems to be the popular opinion, I actually love the Frostbite engine. Obviously it's more action-oriented which explains the lack of kill animations (which I loved), but the physics with it are great. Lack of moddability obviously sucks the d though. I'll never understand why developers can't seem to make engines for RPGs (or any genres I suppose) that are not moddable. It has to have a major impact on sales and on the life of the game.
Then again, I don't know a damn thing about game developing.

is my favorite from the OST.
My biggest problem with Inquisition (DA:2 as well) is that they seem to have completely dropped the grittiness of Dragon Age. People had dirty teeth, the towns were soaked in mud, battles were bloody and brutal. As the series has progressed, it has dropped the dark tone and has gone to brighter colors and more actiony combat. Although I like them and I understand the appeal of having more colors, I feel they should have done so in a way that kept the realism of the original.
Frostbite is pretty alright, for how good they can make it look, its pretty fuckin' optimised.

I'm baffled that I'm running it fine on high with my 560Ti.
Running it on a HD 7770, like low to medium. Getting a new card with tax returns in December but the first playthrough will be a bit rough. Loving it tho. I'm currently choosing new drapes for my fortress. That and [sp]tripping balls with Solas. I though he brought me to Haven for whatever reason and he just goes, "do you think that's air you're breathing" [/sp]
oh god
blackwall, iron bull, cass, and warrior inq all running bodyguard on each other
as a group you take about 25% damage total
So I started a new game and while it loaded me in I alt tabbed to check on somthing but when I came back... well I dont think this was supposed to happen.
So let the adventure commence!

This one was my favorite, because it only really played when shit was going down, and when you heard this you knew it was serious. The vocals were really striking.
Also just noticed not a single desire demon in DA:I
so i just spent three hours in the oasis hunting down shards and all the objectives and shit in there. that temple's cool, althoug hI need more shards to explore more
Also just noticed not a single desire demon in DA:I
Probably trying to be sensitive or something. Hard to portray a Desire demon without t&a after all.

But I saw my characters breasts, double standards much :v:
Sensitive to demons? That's how you get possessed by them.

I know, but I figure I get a bonus if I get all the shards in one zone, and I'd already gotten all the landmarks and shit, so I might as well.
Probably trying to be sensitive or something. Hard to portray a Desire demon without t&a after all.
But t&a is already in the game?
Also just noticed not a single desire demon in DA:I
There's a guy in the empre Du whatever place, who gave me a quest to take out a desire demon, I haven't done it yet, but maybe you missed a quest or two? Orrr it's another generic shade demon thing..

It hasn't really been "as the series progressed", Dragon Age 2 completely changed the art style and in the process removed a lot of the grit. I mean the Darkspawn turned from LotR orcs into Power Rangers putties. Inquisition is more pulling the DA2 artstyle closer to the DA:O art style, Darkspawn aren't just cartoony fodder in Inquisition.
I loved Origins, but frankly from a visual standpoint I always found it to be pretty uninteresting. And the grittiness always felt forced, like they just tossed copious amounts of blood around for the sake of it. I wasn't a fan.

Can't help but think of the outtakes every time I hear that.
