Are there no presets of choices to choose from?
Else, I'll have to play Origins all over again (nor that it's a bad thing)
For DA2 or inquisition? Because for inquisition you set choices via the keep. No save importing. The keep also narrates the important bits of DA2 really well as you set choices so just roll with it. I've heard from somebody who had a review copy that the imported choices don't impact the story that much other than callbacks and references.
Honestly I'm pretty excited for this game. I followed the development quite closely the last few months and Bioware has been extrememly confident in their product by streaming hours and hours of gameplay. They also dropped the review embargo a week before release, which shows how much they think their product is ready.
It's probably going to have some lame whedonesque dialogue and some nonsensical plot derailments like all Bioware games, but the gameplay genuinely seems fun and the large cast means I can ignore the most grating characters (probably Sera and Cole, they both seem uninteresting.)
Maybe have one of your multiplayer characters appear as a spy or resource that gives you a very minor boost (like +2 power or something small like that).
Connecting the two different game modes is great when done superficially. Acknowledging your multiplayer toon in your singleplayer game with a cameo or something cutesy like that would be great, but you tread dangerous waters when you give people advantages (and therefore disadvantages) by playing one mode more or less than the other.
I agree that the ME3 multiplayer wasn't all that bad, but it was far from exemplary. The free updates, and events were appreciated, but the idea behind the original inclusion of the MP always did leave a sour taste in my mouth.
I posted in few news threads about this game so I will repeat myself.
I'm honestly looking forward to this game. I watched a lot of gameplay videos and enjoyed what I saw. As for the reviews, I can't really make any conclusion from them. To me it seems each reviewer liked different thing but overall the feedback seems positive.
I'll get the game later so I'll be able to see a lot of reviews before then. Hopefully DA:I will improve Bioware's image after so many misses. That being said DA2 wasn't as insulting as I expected but you can't make above average game in about a year and a half.

One of the reviewers said that if you reach the maximum level in multiplayer with one of your toons, and make him/her notorious, you'll be able to speak with him/her in singleplayer since the mp characters have their own personalities and names
Another thing they do is you can take a level 20 character that when you reset it to 0 to level again (Like Mass Effect did) All your multiplayer characters get a permanent +1 to a stat depending on which character you reset. Which is better than doing it just for more numbers beside your name in a lobby
I got the best ending on my first playthrough of the game without multiplayer. You just had to do every sidequest/delivery boy mission That said you could barely get it, I was over by like 30 points.
IIRC they later patched it to dramatically lower the amount of galactic warfare points you needed to get better endings. I never got to test it though because I only finished the singleplayer once but had 120 hours played in the multiplayer :v:
Oh wow, that looks way better than the previous stuff I was seeing. I mean, some hiccups here and there (kinda wish the skill trees didn't look so small) but that looks way above DA2 in terms of gameplay
Uh oh. I think I'm getting hyped now. It's happening
I really hope I don't regret this
Skill trees are waaaay too small.
i want a fuckton of spells to fling around dammit

They did indeed patch it. I was just saying that it was possible at the very start to get the best ending, you just had to do literally everything in the game to get it.
Now with fully rendered tits!

The Inquisitor settles for nothing but the best.

It's funny because she's basically the hottest female love interest in the game.
Or the hottest woman in general.
[sp]See, Bioware outright stated they made everyone this way because they wanted "realistic" women in their fantasy game. Whatever happened to when Cassandra was actually kind of cute?[/sp]
The one thing i'll remember about Cassandra, even if they game blows me away and her romance arc is a deep and meaningful experience, is how angry the Bioware boards were when they announced that she was straight.
I've never before seen so many furious people deconstruct a character's looks in order to make a case for their homosexuality. It was truly a magical thing to behold.

Straight?
Shit, there goes that idea.
im sad that there's no varric romance

David Gaider has been traumatised because fans played as dwarf females and made their warden look as close to a child as possible to romance Alistair as a 12 year-old or something. I'm not fucking kidding, he came across images of that and then went "Fuck the fans, never dwarf romances again."
EDIT: he slightly mellowed out after DA2 though. But he still thinks dwarf romances are icky.

If I remember correctly, if you pay for a full service at the Pearl you can choose a female dwarf for a ... a ... one-time companion

Everything about this boggles my mind. Sometimes I don't understand Bioware.
Does Dragon Age Keep just take your save data from the save folders? I want to replay Origins before Inquisition comes out but I only have the base game on Origin. I want to play through the Ultimate Edition on steam and copy the save over for importing.
I know it doesn't really make a difference as you can make all the choices in the Keep, I just want to keep my Warden's name.

I think you can? I know I've read somewhere that you can

David Gaider needs to stay off the internet if he gets hot about that mellow shit.
/d/ is always there to impress.

I used the Keep last week and it imported my DA2 save so I could pick my Champion (unique name) but even though I had DA1 saves on disk the site didn't find them. In the end all you are importing is the name, sex and class. Face information is impossible to import.
But back then in was beta so I rolled with it, maybe it's better now.
I'm trying to get into Origins to prepare for Inquisition, but I'm having trouble getting in sync with the game. I tried playing earlier in the year with a Dalish Elf Rogue Archer Person, but I got about halfway through and pretty much was getting destroyed in combat by random highwaymen. I don't know if I was getting crap equipment drops, or if I botched character making, but shit just was not working. I tried again this week with a mage, but lost interest once I got to Lothering. It just doesn't feel like I can do anything.
So I need advice. If I start another new character, what is a good class/weapon setup that will let me smash this fucking game?

Generally speaking, a rogue who uses archery is pretty underperforming in the main game, compared to the other paths your class can take, but becomes incredibly deadly in the expansion, Awakening (an archer simply stacking dexterity becomes an effective one-man army)
In Origins proper, the general consensus about the most handy classes is about:
- Mages in general, due to sheer utility/damage of their abilities (if you really want to waltz through the whole main questline, unlock the blood mage specialization: you get a spell that convert an enemy in your personal minion and a powerful aoe who DOESN'T harm your party members)
- Rogues, but a bit less so than mages (I speak from experience)
