Another thing I hated about DA2's treatment of mages was the majority of apostates quickly turned to blood magic.
I would write that up to the fact that mages are treated a LOT worse than in DAO. DAO had the Circle being controlled to fuck by the Templars. They were contained so there weren't all that many reasons to resort to blood magic. In DA2, not only are they kept under close scrutiny, they're actively treated as second-class citizens. Not just by the knight-commander but by plenty of the population too. When you're already so reviled, making the step to blood magic is a lot smaller.
Plus I don't like how templars can give an order that allows them to kill every mage they find.
I'm guessing you mean the Rite of Annulment? Because you could have that invoked in DAO too. It's supposed to be a last resort.
[sp]Still. Fuck you Anders, Fuck you Orsino.[/sp]
No argument here.
Disabling blur really improved my performance. Managed to actually up some stuff.
Yes, the Rite of Annulment is a last resort but both in Origins and DA2 it was used when many mages were completely innocent. That's one of the reasons I side with mages. In DA2 you can blame it on Meredith's condition but in Origins the templar commander completely failed his position. I was able to save the whole tower we 3 other soldiers plus a lot of it I had to do alone and he waited to get approval for killing every mage inside the tower.

At this point, Gregoir considers the tower filled with mages who are probably lost to blood mages and/or abominations. Calling for the Right is completely reasonable. Yeah, its brought up when you save them but even then, there's a semblance of reason to it. You saved the mages, sure, but as Cullen says, they could have abominations lying dormant in them. Why does he have to sit and wait for approval and Meredith doesn't, despite the fact that they're both knight-commanders?[sp]The Grand Cleric. In Ferelden, the Grand Cleric is still alive and jumping around, she has to approve it. In Kirkwall, she was blown up. The knight-commander has the last word on the Right in that case.[/sp]
The thing about DA2 is it makes me just never want to play humans in DA:O or DA:I again. I don't want every hero in the universe to be from one species. Now one of them is always going to be a human so if possible I'll avoid make the others like that. Which is a good thing because I never have played Dwarf and I think my second playthrough will be a Dwarf, will make a nice change.
I'm weird, I always think about how it would be boring to pick a human again but than I realize the only reason I would pick a different race is because it's not human. I simply connect better with a human male for my first playthrough because that's usually the run I play as "myself". Though if they didn't make elves half-dwarfs/skinny dwarfs in DA:I I would probably play as one right from the start.
[sp]Justice turned Anders evil.[/sp] If it wasn't for that damn spirit, then we would still have the mage we all know and love from Awakening.
No, I'd say that it if weren't for Jennifer Hepler, we would still have the mage we all know and love from Awakening.
No, I'd say that it if weren't for Jennifer Hepler, we would still have the mage we all know and love from Awakening.
Wait a fucking second, did SHE write Ander's story arc?! Now I understand (I'm a bit biased against Anders at the moment because apparently he lied to my PC in order to make me fecth him [sp]the materials for a bomb and keep the local priest busy till he finished installing it[/sp] While I managed to get Anders at a good friendship rate with my choices, this time I told him to shove it, honestly)
Still playing through DA:I, having a blast thus far, clearing out every possible location except for dragons, game is loooong and i love it.
Why Bioware even bothered to add Multiplayer to this game I will never understand, It's piss boring and just feels shite, the characters you and other people play as spout out random crap all the time and repeat themselves alot, they just don't shut the fuck up. It just feels shit, especially when I get put into a game with a Level 18, 16 and 8 and I'm a Level 1 just starting off with my shit starting gear. I'm guessing either not many people play online for me to get put with Level 1s and 2s, or their matchmaking is just dump.
[sp] oh god, cringed so hard when they started singing after haven [/sp]
I think its the reverb honestly, if they hadn't used that effect then it wouldn't be anywhere near as cringey [editline]4th December 2014[/editline] they did that in origins too with leliana and it created the same teeth-grinding cheesyness

I wonder how the scene would have played if they just used a "natural" sound environment.
Odd question, anybody have a picture of what Templar Armor or Superb Battlemaster Armor look like? I can't seem to find pictures online for some reason I realize one is pretty much objectively better than the other, but aesthetics matter more to me than stats because I am a horrible nerd
I beat the game and I want more. I just go through the quests again though too much of it is fresh on my mind and doesn't have the same appeal.
if its anything like mass effect 3, it will be because they will add a shitton of content in the future, then the game will go on sale for roughly 20 bux after all the free content is added, and the mp will stay alive for a good while me3's mp is still pretty active to this day really
If they have plans for DLC my ideas ranges from: [sp]Find out what happened when you left Hawke or Broghain(Alistair or Stroud)[/sp] Helping the HoF find a cure to the calling. The after effects of the Inquisition after [sp] Kicking Cory out of the house[/sp] Meeting the Spanish. [editline]4th December 2014[/editline] DEFINITELY something to do with the Architect, there is no damn reason they have him in the Keep for no reason.
A lot of things are in the keep for no reason :v:
Am I the only one who feels disappointed that there's no particular mention of the Architect outside of the keep? That guy was pretty damn cool, in a creepy 'I have a crown made out of rock(?) jutting out of my head' way.
wtf why did everyone just break into song what is this disney ass shit [editline]4th December 2014[/editline] the introduction to skyhold was really nice though
Just as cringey as Leliana's musical number in Origins...
Just as cringey as Leliana's musical number in Origins...
At least Leliana was a bard and she led up to the song by telling you about it. In Inquisition it comes out of fucking no where. Though the shot of Solas like "What the fuck are these fucking humans doing now?" was great.
It's not really out of nowhere. It makes sense for a preacher from a religious order called the chantry to start a hymn to pick up everyone's spirits. But yeah, still an awkward scene.
Wait a fucking second, did SHE write Ander's story arc?! But actually she was writing Ser Pounce-a-lot all along, she just didn't know it.
I just don't really get the Anders hate. He was my favourite companion. Well... Justice was my favourite Awakenings companion and I liked having Anders around in the hope we'd get some Justice action.

He was alright in 2 till then, now I only keep him around for his Grey Warden uses.
So am I the only one who feels bad about hunting all the High Dragons? They are really great creatures and I mean they kinda tend to themselves not really attacking people and stuff.
Whenever I have to talk to Mother Giselle, I skip through the entire conversation, her accent is fucking annoying to listen to and I don't like looking at her lips.
Dragon Age's writing. It has layers. Like an onion.
The boss battle in [sp]the well place was fucking short Cassandra bull rushed her off the cliff[/sp]
I really consider picking this up, how is the game overall? Mostly I want to know if you need to play the prequels to understand this game. I really feel like investing some time in a solid rpg, this one looks neat. I played Origins for a while but never finished it. Do you recommend it?
