Dragon Age Inquisition Megathread: Bioware's Last Chance Edition

Yeah, that's pretty much it.
[del]I'm a bit confused, surely you noticed your companions change their look depending how good armor you give them. They start lightly armored and later they can look badass. I just made my mage a silverite/all class heavy armor and he looks very nice (it looks heavy but it changes depending on your class). The "problem" is when I give the same heavy armor to Solas and Dorian they look less armored than with some lesser armors, instead they seem to get a more unique outfit. Is that supposed to be their ultimate look? Especially Dorian seems to be less armored than when you first meet him (although I wouldn't be surprised if that's intentional).[/del]
So yeah, I looked more into it and this is what I figured out. If you try to give your companions an armor past their class (mages or rogues with heavy armor) their unique look goes somewhere in the middle. If you give them tier 3 armor for their class they have the best look they can have.

Apparently it's coming out on December 9th for the PC and for the other platforms at a later date.

Is there any way I can compare a pre-crafted weapon/armor to what a character is wearing without wasting resources?
I decided to get around to finish a new DAO playthrough I started this year, since I lost all of my old ones, because I'd heard enough good about DAI that I've decided I'll get it. Finished it last night, started up DA2, and ohh my god random shit is corrupting and its hilarious. Its important to note that this is a computer I built not even a week and a half ago, brand new, so nothing is wrong with the computer. And from that DA2 was installed literally last night, no mods or anything. But the game is so hilariously jittery and bugging out at random. Texture just corrupt at random turning in to colorful messes, half the time at least a few characters in an area will have an invisible body, just floating armor and a head.

Its not really impeding my progress, it can even be quite funny, but I would rather like it fixed if anyone might know what is causing this.
Hah, I clicked the community tab for it on Steam and literally the first two images were floating heads.

Try running it on only one core, that fixed a bunch of problems for me such as cutscene freezing and lag.
Playing through Origins for the first time, I can now understand why people consider it a great game. The quests and dialogues are quite amazing, I really liked the Urn of Andrastes Ashes quest. Although some parts are padded out pretty long like that temple or the fade levels.
Still it's pretty great.
The fade level in Origins always makes me want to shoot myself
It just went on and on and on.... If nothing else Bioware did a really good job established that the fade is a place you really, really don't want to go to.

DirectX 9?
i'm not sure how i feel about this game
i'm constantly going between "this game is pretty great" to "this game is not too great". the environments are beautiful, but collecting materials is annoying and time consuming. the story is neat, but the side quests are dreadfully boring. the abilities are cool, but the combat is super mediocre.
for every good thing there's something shitty. it's definitely more enjoyable now that i've learnt to just ignore most side quests and just go on with the main missions but there are still a lot of issues. the game is still great regardless though.

There's actually a mod that skips it haha

Well it skips everything but the little dream sequences for all your party members, which is great!

I hate to say it but I literally can't play Orgins without this.
ok so having been convinced to try this by my girlfriend i have one question
is there a webzone that sells this for 35$ or less? because i refuse to pay more than that for whatever horrors await me

G2A. Got it there myself
46€ isnt 35$
You can turn off the buyer protection and buy from the lowest seller... Though I wouldn't recommend it.
I cannot stop playing this! It's fucking gorgeous and there's lore everywhere this is so damn good
Man, some of these companion tarot cards really look damn depressing.
if there's one thing I really wish this game could have is the option for a one click auto-attack
Issues
I had your same issues and beyond. Apparently, it's a problem with advanced computer, more specifically the most recent versions of DirectX
Effects may include missing textures in random body parts, rainbow textures and soccer field stripes on the terrain
For the missing textures, you can reload the game and they will appear, though

Yep. So I just have to tell it to use older DirectX then it seems.
I am remembering why I put so little time in to it previously as I play through it again. I'm not sure if the like 140 hours I have in DAO counts as too little or not.
46€ isnt 35$
Huh I got mine for 36$ or something
Huh I got mine for 36$ or something
It sold out of the main bulk and now most key sites are selling it in the 40's now. I got mine for £27 :/
Patch was gonna be released on the 9th.
There's been some issues. Not all formats will get it on the 9th. But it will come soon.

Is it still possible to buy things on the cheap through Origins using the Mexican store, or have they implemented something counter that?
Is there a way to see if you've become friends with your companions? Like the loyalty status? I really miss that.
Ok, after drifting out of DA:I and becoming uninterested I think I should start from the beginning of the whole series.
It's been a while since I've done it. I think I should. I just don't know how I'm going to keep myself motivated throughout the way. If I stop playing for a week I just can't be bothered to continue.
Is there anyway to make it worthwhile and not seem like such a chore?

I get this as well in such games, especially Bioware games. Usually I am stuck at some point or find myself in a tedious situation that I cannot be arsed to finish properly. You often need preparation and sometimes you can screw yourself over really badly depending on the situation. This is rather frustrating. But you need to play in good nice timed sessions, always stop at an interesting point or event during the game or take a break for a while and come back to it.

Maybe I should allocate an hour a night or something.
