So apparently the game pits a protagonist whom everyone believe to be Jesus Christ against an atheist sorcerer who is angry because God doesn't exist Perfect Also, I'm navigating the Hinterlands for the first time. I have to say, the fetch quests approach is extremely annoying
A good piece of advice I saw was to not spend ages 100%-ing the Hinterlands. There is so much more to do and see and a lot of the quests in there aren't very useful or even interesting. you can always come back later

I'm currently focusing on the most important tasks (like closing rifts or helping out the man who will provide me with horses) Thing is, in any RPG in existence I hate when I'm literarly drowned in fetch side quests that add nothing to the plot, making me lose sight of the bigger picture Many people compare Inquisition to Skyrim, but at least there the proper fetch missions are considered "Miscelanea quests" and you can tell them from the major questlines (like the college of Winterhold or the Dark Brotherhood) In Inquisition, instead, all quests are added to your journal without you having any clue about what is really important to do right now or what you could as well pass unless you want to grind for experience and items This is especially jarring coming from a Dragon Age game: in the past two games every side quest (save from the boards from Origins) had some bearing to the overall plot
the inquisitors path tab in the quest book and the differentiating icon for quests for it on the radar arent indication enough?
... Oh
Anyone else want to see the Warden in person again [sp]a la Hawke[/sp] in an Inquisition expansion (or even a future game)? I think that would be really neat.
no because he's dead sacrifice ending for life
Don't say that too loud, we might see the return of... [t]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/red_wyrn/2011-07-20_00013-1.jpg[/t]
But it is returning
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
no because he's dead sacrifice ending for life
You do know it's possible to [sp]survive the ending scene by having sex with morrigan[/sp]? [editline]4th January 2015[/editline]
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
I loved it, I don't understand how people could find that cringy
I'd be fine if a ton of battered refugees were singing in a windy mountain pass and not a bunch of A plus voice actors singing in an obviously well padded room for the OST. It sounded so out of place, and the lip sync didn't help.
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
It's only facepunch i've seen actually hate it, it's weird, apart from here it was well received.
It's only facepunch i've seen actually hate it, it's weird, apart from here it was well received.
I thought the timing on that scene was perfect.
You do know it's possible to [sp]survive the ending scene by having sex with morrigan[/sp]?
yeah there's literally almost no way to avoid knowing about that I have morals though, and they don't include giving birth to demon god children because some chick in a leather costume told me to.
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
do you get paid to not hate it? jw because it was pretty bad
do you get paid to not hate it? jw because it was pretty bad
While it was kinda cringy I never really thought it was bad. It make sense, in a way, plus Solas' reaction to the whole thing makes it goddamn amazing.
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
Nowadays novelty in people's reaction to any fiction whatsoever is to declare every hopeful/emotional/reflective moment as "forced", "hawkward" and/or simply "useless" Really, we live in a present when people can find pathos in a story only if they see main characters dying left and right. The EDGE AGE has come
yeah it just needed your character comin up and being like WE NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHERE WE GO FROM HERE or somethin showing you pull through and take charge and ultimately set up the next segment
dude the dawn will come part is probably the most hilariously out of place music number in gaming like the whole people arguing thing after the tragic moment was all it needed to be to be an emotional moment, it wasn't a great one but it was decent, then the singing starts and its a riot
I can see your point and mind you, maybe I'm defending this far more than what I'd like, but the "bad" singing is one of the things that make the scene It's like when people in real life know they are terrible at it but they sing nevertheless, because it makes them feel good, to some degree I'll not say the whole thing is the best piece of videogaming drama ever, but it's surely endearing
I did cringe at the singing but it isn't that bad. The "echo" effect is too much though and makes it less authentic. The main thought that was going through my head at the time was: "We just escaped from a huge army, we don't know where we are or where the enemy is. Is this really a good time to have a big singing number and possibly announce our location? Giselle, I told you we need more than faith, this isn't helping." Few moments later. "See, this is what you do, Solas knows about some castle."
Worst part for me was I had to rewatch the entire singing scene three times. First time the game crashed during the cutscene right before [sp]Skyhold[/sp] is shown. The screen went black and but the sound kept going. The second time went fine, but I had to go back and rewatch it again because the game wouldn't introduce me to [sp]Hawke[/sp] The glitches was the biggest letdown, despite all that I loved the game. I really hope they make a [sp]Warden[/sp] DLC.
Ohh for the love of all that is decent I just met Sera. Who the fuck wrote this character? Why does she not shut up?
I accidently deleted my save file in Inquisition. Now I spent like 3 hours creating new characters and each of them always looks like shit.
Someone needs to mod her out or completely rework her.
Did you know that if you pursue a romance with her as an elf and tell her you believe in elven gods you have to choose between her and your faith?

So can we just take a moment to compliment some of the soundtrack. When you first get to Val Royeaux and this plays as your character spins around in wonder, nobles edging past you and muttering to themselves, I felt completely in awe. It's the perfect song for Orlais, which happens to be my favorite nation in Dragon Age, and it makes the game feel completely magical whenever it plays.
So i guess im in the minority when i say i liked that "dawn will come" sequence...... :v:
To me it felt as if the game just turned into a High-School Musical parody. When it had started, I honestly thought they were just busting our balls, but no. They really went for one of the all-time cheesiest & cringiest scenes in gaming history. Out of the blue.

That was some serious disney shit and cheesy as fuck. Honestly Inquisition has some absolutely horrible writing and pacing when it comes to the plot.
I thought the writing and pacing was pretty good, probably because it took me like 60+ hours to complete the game and I paid attention to the story.
Honestly, the dialogues are pretty boring. They are far less in-depth and some lines are really awful. Still enjoy the game though but I just feel like dialogues got a lot more boring and lifeless.
I picked up Sera just in case we needed someone to sacrifice later, ME2 style. I didn't talk to her a single time after taking her in.
