Dragon Age Inquisition Megathread: Bioware's Last Chance Edition

Well I'm screwed. I just entered Lost Souls quest for the missing soldiers with my level 5-6 team with level 12 enemies and Discount Kevin Sorbo at the end is kicking my @ss. Can I leave the quest and come back to it later?
I like Sera...
I got the [sp]dragon in the Hinterlands[/sp] down to about 10% then my party wiped.
Also, oh god, my party member keep walking into the fire.
What level would be best to do this, I'm level 12 atm and I figured that'd cut it but I suppose not.
I picked up Sera just in case we needed someone to sacrifice later, ME2 style. I didn't talk to her a single time after taking her in.
There needs to be an unfriendly rating. :(
Honestly, the dialogues are pretty boring. They are far less in-depth and some lines are really awful. Still enjoy the game though but I just feel like dialogues got a lot more boring and lifeless.
Yeah it felt kindof distant when you weren't in a cutscene, and I disliked that. In DAO all dialouge was up-in-persons-face and that felt better.
The Dawn Will Come just had me cringing with how stupid it was.
Great game but there are a lot of little things niggling at me. Like how so many faces repeat, or how I actually feel pain whenever I see a glowing skull in the game.
I like how half the sidequests are just pieces of paper on the ground that give you a map marker.
Yay I finally found this track. Been wondering what it was called.

I liked the new system in which you could turn the camera or even move around. It's way, way better than the usual BioWare dialogue shots, because they are so used and honestly somewhat boring. At least now I can move around a bit; gives it more interactivity.

Whereas before I could watch and enjoy the cinematography as I watched, all I do now is spin the camera around constantly trying to either find a close shot to sit in there spinning ad infinitum out of boredom.
Is anyone able to connect to the dragon age servers?
Really want to try out my custom world state.
Someone needs to mod her out or completely rework her.
No real need, you can just refuse her or kick her out of the Inquisition(as far as I know, she's actually the only one you can kick out :v:) if you don't want her.
I kept her around to see if she has any redeeming characteristics then kicked her ass out when she showed none.
It is kind of a shame there wasn't more to Val Royeaux. For such an important place, you don't get to really dig into it in any depth. At least they could've made an equivalent map to Kirkwall in 2. Noble area, commoner area, slums, and docks. They could've shown us the Alienage were they pack like 10,000 elves into the space of the Denerim market. Of course, that would've shown just how limited, say, the extents of Dragon Age 2 were.

The main problem I have with the new dialogue system is that I have to carefully position the camera every time on a specific position, else the characters' voices will be too low to be heard by anyone, and the fact that, when you exit from a dialogue topic, you have to restart the whole thing again instead of being taken back to the "main dialogue options menu"
Aside from that, if this allows them to add more conversations, be my guest

I find Sera being better at ranged DPS than Varric. Being a tempest she can use the fire jars and make her abilities cost no stamina, then spam full draw 3 times in a row for massive damage. Level 3 thousand cuts is amazing useful against powerful enemies like dragons and pride demons.
Sera = GOAT Ranged DPS outside of your inquisitor
if i ever play through again and make a warrior maybe i'll use sera, playing through as a double dagger rogue so I really haven't been using other rogues obvsly
Val Royeaux didn't exactly put me in awe because I don't get to explore/interact enough of the city. I only go there for the shops and that's it. There's some sightseeing, but the map is crazy small and not a whole lot going on (except the occasional noble fainting). Plus, the upstairs portion of the map was kind of disappointing because there's only one shop.
I guess that's some sort of problem with the game if compared to Skyrim. I want to sit down on a virtual chair and listen to a pre-recorded track edited with some ambiance of what it feels like to be in a tavern I wouldn't be caught dead in - all while munching on virtual bread.
I'm not saying it actually was awe inspiring when you got there, I'm just complimenting that opening scene, it really set it up perfectly.
I'm only a couple hours in, but...does this game ever get interesting? I'm used to Bioware grabbing my attention and throwing me into something I give a shit about, but all I've done so far is grind through endless identical encounters with identical enemies and complete checklists. No meaningful interactions with my squadies at all, which is like 60% of the reason I play Bioware games in the first place.
Is there anything to legitimately look forward to? Because at this point I can already tell the Ubisoft Syndrome criticism is well-founded.

Leave the Hinterlands.

To be completely fair, the Skyrim/"Generic Ubisoft Sandbox" feel many people don't like isn't exactly unfounded
I left the Hinterlands a while ago and I'm following the main story at my first visit to Val Royeaux, but the sheer amount of filler you are exposed too isn't helping me keeping my interest ("Great, I unlocked a new zone with my power! Let's go there. Find breaches. Find new camps. Is that a skull to find shards? Better collect some resources. Is that a side quest?")
To be completely fair though, this could be just me (again) hating fetch quests with a passion in any sandbox rpg ever and Inquisition being a lot different than the BioWare games I usually deal with

My new dude character, looks pretty dude-ish.

I was overwhelmed by the number of (dumb) side-quests. So in the end I just went: "Fuck that Assassin's Creed shit," and completely ignored all those tedious fetch quests and the incredibly boring rift closing. It suddenly became a much better game. Seriously, does every game need to have such quests? Do people even find them enjoyable?
I hate when quantity overcomes quality.

Eh, I saw them as a cheap way to lengthen the game, and get extra xp. Atleast I got some funny banter out of my companions during them.
In almost all rpg games I play I always "lawnmow" no matter how tedious or boring it is. It was particularly bad in this, but me being the OCD arse I am if I leave one stone unturned I find/"think" I didn't get as much as I could've out of the game.
An area I did outright fucking ignore as the tediousness of the lawnmowing finally got to me was the sandy dune area(s). So. Much. Fucking. Walking (horses are like, only 2x the speed of a human. why?) Also gave up on shards and observatoriums towards the end, too.

In every area I unlock I at least try to get the local rifts closed (since it's my job after all and they award a nice chunk of experience and influence/power) and the local "main" quest done
Also, I try to get the inquisition's requisitions if possible (but again, it's very clear that you can't get all of them the moment you unlock them)
Do. Not. Fill the requisitions. You spend time and resources for 1 power at a time and they never go away. They are there if you need power but there are much more entertaining and cheaper ways of getting it and you will rarely need power.

Wait, what? They seriously never go away?
I kept doing them to remove the quest marker, baaaah.

The actual requisition goes away when you complete it, but immediately after the requisitions officer becomes a marker so he can give you the same requisition again.
So basically every assignment you recive falls into the "Take Your Time" category?
I do questing in zone(s) enough to get me to the level requirement/power requirement for the next area and thats it. On hard this keeps the game refreshingly a challenge. If the next area after that is to high of a level, then I go back to hinterlands/storm coast/etc to finish "interesting" quests (anything that isn't a sidequest timewaster), or close rifts to gain power.

I feel like the difficulty is absolutely unbalanced at times. I play on hard and with some careful approach and preparation most encounters just work out fine but for main missions it just gets ridiculously frustrating. Despite using the "tactical" mode a lot and trying to get the best out of my party, at times it is just pretty imbalanced.
Also I tried just leveling a bit over the mission requirement but it was still pretty frustrating. Even though I feel like my party works well together.
