I have to say, I never liked Alistair as a party member in Origins, but I think he's great in his new position.
yeah the wandering drunk role really suits him
Not quite what I meant, but it probably is.
Finished DA2 again. Now to go through horrible Dragon Age withdrawal until I get Inquisition. Woo [editline]asdf[/editline] So is Val Royeaux as awesome as Leliana's description in Origins, or did they half-ass it?

Leliana romanticised it to fuck. Just like anybody who's well passionate about their home and has been away for a while. Specially somebody like Leliana was Really loving this game. Taking my time and doing everything. Do not get the Sera hate. She doesn't get on with my inquisitor but I find her funny. I do wish (Warden quest spoilers) [sp]whoever survives Adamant could become a companion. That would add a nice extra layer to it[/sp]
I think I've somehow started subconciously picking things that are going to piss Sera off. Like, every decision largely feels exactly like one I would normally make and in line with the previous two games, but I have not made a single decision she likes. I don't even talk to the sow.
I don't even talk to the sow.
Lol, dat word that nobody ever uses.

I don't even talk to the sow.
At first i was intrigued by her negative opinion of the dalish elves, despite picking one as my inquisitor, as her reason for disliking them actually made a little sense. but later in the game she disapproves of literally any decision you make that benefits elves, dalish or otherwise, in any way whatsoever even if the alternative to the choice was really immoral.
I have NO idea how I did it, but I beat the "Lost Souls" quest with my level 5 team with 9 tries on that Hand of Kroth boss. I think I was supposed to do that quest later on in the game. Does anyone know how to get on Cassandras good graces after [sp]recruiting the mages[/sp] to get in her cloth armor? It's either her or Josephine.
I feel bad for not liking the game, played the game, sided with templars; did tons of repetetive quests, did the warden story; full stop here. I really liked all the games before this one.

The person that figured that research items should fall under the 'quick sell' command should be fired and banned from game development. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea.
I really liked all the games before this one.
Hold up. You liked DA2 better than DA:I?
Yes, until now i am not impressed by DA:I
The person that figured that research items should fall under the 'quick sell' command should be fired and banned from game development. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea.
holy shit that must be why i never had any, i never realised
I'm regretting not having played a Dagger rouge earlier on in inquisition. It's really a lot more involved and reflex-based than a warrior or mage, quite rewarding for that reason, you need to time blocks and get into little one on one duels with people during fights. Also, being able to have a monopoly over the role of rouge (lockpicking, sneaking past enemies, etc) really feels like a player character role.
The person that figured that research items should fall under the 'quick sell' command should be fired and banned from game development. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea.
I just had a damn revelation.
I have to say, the game picked up significantly for me during and after my first visit to Val Royeaux: if anything, the game is starting to play out like a BioWare title at last (you are given special side quests tiding to the overall plot, you recruit new people for your group and talk with them and the kind) It does help that I love the fuck out of Orlais (more specifically, Val Royeaux is best described as a 24 hours Venetian Carnevale) I also met that infamous Sera you people always talk a lot about Now, I can understand that not all elven women can look like babes (even if that face is especially jarring and, as a man in his 20s, I wouldn't mind that little ... ehrm ... appeal) I can also understand that we need more unconventional elven characters (even if Tallis and Zevan already fill the bill nicely) The main two reasons I don't like Sera that much count to: - Her incredible motor mouth, half of the time about jokes that easily fly over me and the other half about a 4chan user radical "FOR THE PEOPLE!" crap. And I thought Tiny Tina from the Borderlands series was annoying - Her not being able to see the big picture at work. Like, not at all I recruited her anyway because I'm a pragmatist first and foremost. I'm not going to regret this, am I?

Do not speak to her or interact with her at all. Leave her in camp for all eternity.
I recruited her anyway because I'm a pragmatist first and foremost. I'm not going to regret this, am I?
You probably will. I know nothing about her as a character and she still annoys the shit out of me.
Guys, I have dealt with every kind of fictional characters in my career I have a strong stomach for such things
Just deal with Sera as I have. Do not speak to her or interact with her at all. Leave her in camp for all eternity.
Or just do what i did and don't recruit her, just in case they do another game i won't have to deal with her. Hell at worst she'll pull a Zevran down the line then i have that sweet sweet opportunity to kill her off.
Speaking of recruitment, I've just realized that I screwed up my chances of getting Vivienne after the attack on Haven because the supposed guy who was to take me to her quest never appeared when I went to Val Royeaux. Whoops. Guess one less mage isn't TOO bad...
Is there really even a point to mages in Inquisition if they can't heal anymore?
Is there really even a point to mages in Inquisition if they can't heal anymore?
Most enemies have a weakness to one of their spells, making it pretty easy to take them down/paralyze them in a situation that would otherwise be a little harder.
Is there really even a point to mages in Inquisition if they can't heal anymore?
Not tremendously. You need to them for vielfire and telekenisis and useful/necessary gimicks like that. Having a necromancer (ie: dorian) in the party is pretty damn useful though. He just sits back and unleashes a cascading torrent of fuck on your enemies while you're busy tanking/stabbing them. It's pretty great
Well, Vivienne is the only one that can actually heal to an extent
It's not really worth it though, the fade abilities are better spent on creating those fade rift black hole thingies It's a more proactive solution to just completely obliterate high priority enemies who might injure you, rather than waiting until they injure you and then healing yourself with the same fade abilities.
