A friend of mine told me the crashes I experience with Inquisition are due to my GPU missing some megabytes. So he advised me to run everything on stock high settings Thing is, the DirectX crashes are still there. If possible, they even increased Every damn time someone in a cutscene does anything else than standing completely still, the game freezes and (more often than not) crashes. Just like that. A sudden movement? Crash. Those lips are moving too much? Crash. Is Dorian there? Crash (maybe my GPU is omophobe) Oh, and here is an example of my average multiplayer section: [t]http://s10.postimg.org/qhoj08fef/Screenshot_Win32_0004_Final.png[/t] I'll try to dig out something. Else, I'm going to rebuy it on the PS4. What really fazes me is that: - AC: Unity isn't that far to Inquisition release-wise and I can run it smoothly on all ultra (as smoothly as Unity allows, that is) - Till I got to In Your Heart Shall Burn, everything was fine, even on all ultra What the fuck.
On PS4 though it's been flawless for me, I haven't encountered any problems, some weird PC shit going on, as usual.
Unless they just never mention templars and mages ever again and just explain it away in the codex like they've been doing so far.
Most likely, you can't really make the player's decision have significant impact on the plot or you'd essentially be developing two games (or more).
Having a hard time following the plot here since I haven't touched any DA title before. However, I'm blown away by all the quests and exploring possibilities I've got. there's just so many I can't get my head on whether which one I should do.

If you stay in the Hinterlands doing every sidequest you're gonna get burnt out on the game very quickly.
I think the saddest part of Inquisition is that[sp]Corpheus never comes at you again after Haven. At that point, you just repeatedly wreck his shit until you finish him off at the end. You can't build tension without some back and forth. You cut off his demon army, he crushes one of your allies. You save the Empress (or not...), he summons the darkspawn to boil out of the Deep Roads, that kind of thing. Things are supposed to be their bleakest right before the climax. Before Doom Upon All the World, things really are going better than they have been since before the game started. I was discussing this with a friend, and one idea we had is that Corpheus could lure the Inquisitor into becoming tainted with the blight somehow. Force a confrontation with a bunch of darkspawn or a tainted Eluvian. Because then, the Inquisitor's choices would be to die, or go through the joining. And if he became a Grey Warden, that would put him at risk of possession from Corpheus. And if he managed to possess the Inquisitor... hey, look, now he's got the Anchor back. Sweet. It definitely would've put you back on the defensive at least. But oh well, fan wank isn't going to help things now, I guess. Ttthhppp.[/sp]
That was something I was thinking about, too. The climax is a letdown but progress of the story is a bit different compared to other Bioware games. Usually it's about you gaining resources for the final confrontation but here it's you gaining resources by stopping big bad's plans. Unfortunately he's regarded as a threat even by the end where it's obvious you fucked every move he planned and your Inquisitor can be super powerful.
You should play Dragon Age II if you can get over how blatantly rushed it looks and feels and stay for the unconventional story approach and SOME of the characters

Finished my super playthrough of DA:O and DA2 and now I'm on to DA:I. Been playing as female warriors and more specifically, Templars. Going to continue said trend into Inqusition. In terms of DA2 since it was my first time playing it.. Meh. I stayed for the story, the characters, and Aggressive Hawke making everything hilarious. My main issue is actually with Keep and it not giving you real context on the decisions you're making. I went back through after playing DA2 and completely switched around the decisions I made as a Templar compared to what I thought the decisions meant. I wish there was a way they could expand on the choices.

The most important part of Dragon Age 2 for Dragon Age Inquisition is the DLC called Legacy. As it introduces a major character. But it's skippable. In general, your decisions in DA:O and DA:2 make virtually no impact on plot. Only lines of dialogue and codex. Did you kill X in DA:O? No worries, Y will fill in their role and deliver the exact same dialogue in the exact same way. The only thing that really changes the game is if you had the child with Morrigan in DA:O, even then the outcome is exactly the same, just a different path to get there. At one point in the game whoever you put on the throne in DA:I has a cameo, but regardless of who rules or what sort of personality they have, they still do the exact same thing. Characters become interchangeable. DA:2 is virtually useless, it only has a slight effect on a few lines of dialogue from DA:2 characters. The other slight thing it does (it's a really light spoiler to say): [sp] the character from DA2 appears (Hawke). But his/her appearance in DA2 isn't imported. Only his/her personality and class. You have to design him/her from scratch.[/sp] Read about the DA:2 plot and make the choices you like best in Keep. Just for dialogue and lore reasons really. Only the DA:O choices effect which characters cameo but even then, as said, it doesn't really matter as X will be replaced by Y or Z and still play the exact same role. The said- the decisions of DA:I are big. By the end the game the universe of Dragon Age can be very different and it leaves DA:4 in the position where they can't be ignored or retconned. On top of that at least two DA:O choices look like they will have a lasting impact on DA:4. For example it's not a spoiler to say very early on you choose between templars and mages. The decisions you make from that point can change things in two very drastic ways. Unless they just never mention templars and mages ever again and just explain it away in the codex like they've been doing so far.
Thanks guys, decided to just go ahead and play through DA2. Surprisingly liked it despite the glaringly obvious re-used areas, especially the fluid combat compared to Origins. Just started up DA:I maybe a bit too fast right after DA2 though, suffice it to say the new controls is a whiplash to me since my muscle memory is used to how everything worked in Origins and DA2. Had to get out my Xbox 360 controller, but otherwise enjoying it so far.
I followed the steps advised by this guide to put a stop to the increased DirectX crashes in Inquisition. And, I'll shit you not, it worked Of course, there is this small matter of me having bought the PS4 version of the game for fifty bucks Luckly for me, a friend of mine is interested in the game and he accepted my offer to buy it from me for forty bucks The Amazon package arrived today and I'll leave the game unspoiled I really took care of everything this time

Well Origins has started randomly crashing for no good reason when I switch party members in combat. [editline]asdfp[/editline] Further testing has revealed that simultaneously moving and rotating the camera consistently causes the game to crash. That's just weird, I've never had this problem before.
I have to say, that there have been a few moments in games where I had to actually stop and consider whether I regret a decision I've made, and even fewer where it was bad enough I actually went back and changed my choice. But Adamant was just too much for me. [sp]I did the whole thing, and I knew I had to make a choice between Hawke or Loghain at the end. I beat Nightmare, then figured staying to fight was both Hawke's style and she'd have the best chance, as well as Loghain needing to help the Wardens rebuild. I almost always go with the most pragmatic choice. But when I came back and Varric came running up looking for Hawke and having to tell him, his reaction honestly just killed me and I had to go back, do the whole boss fight again, just to fix that. Iron Bull's choice was much the same, but I let that one stay.[/sp]
Somehow I managed to [sp]get all the remaining gray wardens killed off in a series of war table missions[/sp]. Doesn't seem like anyone cares, though.
Yeah, some big stuff happens at the war table without anyone caring. [sp]As an elf, I got my whole clan killed off at the war table and I wandered around distraught for half and hour trying to get someone to talk to me about it.[/sp]
So apparently my problems with the multiplayer (void space for some minutes, incredible lag and invisible enemies) were due to me having the 60 fps fix going on with Origin, which I promptly disabled. Multiplayer is playable for me once again As of now, I'm playing the game on max settings except for ambient occlusion, anti antialiasing and multisampling antialiasing (which I turned off) as for the guide I followed These settings make the game looking exceptionally good still and prevent the whole thing from crashing
Fuck, I wish the combat for this game weren't so frustrating. It's that and the side quests. Everything else is great, but I think I'm just gonna turn it down to easy so I don't have to slog through this buggy shit.
Somehow I managed to [sp]get all the remaining gray wardens killed off in a series of war table missions[/sp]. Doesn't seem like anyone cares, though.
You get that by picking the wrong advisors for a few war table missions.
Well. I just did the Verchiel March quest, and I can see why people hate Sera. [sp]She killed the noble after 3 questions with no provocation. We don't really know why he was bad, just a rich asshole. So I restarted it and then made a deal, which netted me the influence that I needed. Then Sera threw in my opinion the MOST OBNOXIOUS TANTRUM in video games. Obnoxious, selfish, childish, and loud in one conversation. I could have sworn she was a hidden renegade option. I was tempted to boot her out since I already have Varric, but instead she's got "angry face" all the time now.[/sp] Yep. Already regretting keeping Sera. Edit: After some looking over, it turns out [sp]that she's no different from the "baddies" that she sabotages. She's only doing these attacks on nobles because there's profit to be had in messing with people. She's no Robin Hood. In fact, she messes with both the rich nobles and the "common folk" that she swears that she's looking out for. She's definitely a hidden renegade option.[/sp]
I really wanted to welcome the Templar order into the fold, but apparently that would mean making my character ignore [sp]an unknown magic capable of destroying the time flow itself[/sp]. Since I can't make up a good excuse to dodge that, I'm forced to go to the mages' aid
Also it means you get Dorian later. That just doesn't fly.
Best soundtrack in the game, and it isn't even included on the deluxe edition soundtrack. Still love me some Val Royeaux music though. [editline]23rd January 2015[/editline]
I really wanted to welcome the Templar order into the fold, but apparently that would mean making my character ignore [sp]an unknown magic capable of destroying the time flow itself[/sp]. Since I can't make up a good excuse to dodge that, I'm forced to go to the mages' aid
I just straight up ignored the [sp]invitation from the mages[/sp] because the Templars shifting allegiances so brashly looked like a more pressing issue to deal with first instead of the [sp]supposedly[/sp] friendly invite for some nice talks. How was I to know that everything would go [sp]tits up with the mages and Alexius?[/sp]
The amount of different epilogues on this game is insane: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Epilogue_%28Inquisition%29 It's still unknown what you have to do in order to get some of them. [sp]also so many different factions that may or may not exist (Seekers, Templars, Circles, Silver Shield, College of Enchanters). In some endings certain groups do exist but are under Inquisition control. DA4 world states are gonna be all over the place. It seems Grey Warden civil war is pretty much a guarantee for an expansion or sequel. Wouldn't be surprised if it was used an excuse to get the Warden involved. Then some players will end up with all three protagonists sharing screen time. I would really like the chance to remake my warden in a new engine and give him a voice[/sp]
I'd like to see them allow you to play as any of your previous heroes if they survive for the next one.
I love how much [sp]Loghain[/sp] has changed by the time you meet up with him in Inquisition [sp]if you let him live, naturally.[/sp]
So, tell me: am I going to have the option to kick out Sera at any time during the game or ...?
Yeah, you can kick her out at any time, unless you're committed to boinking her.
After hearing from chancellor Roderick for some time, I started to notice something: his VA wasn't entirely new to me This evening I made the connection: he's the same VA of Darth Vowrawn, a character from the Sith warrior story in the Old Republic MMORPG [t]http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140525130541/starwars/images/5/52/Darth_Vowrawn.png[/t] This is especially jarring because unlike Roderick, Vowrawn is anything but a dick
