Which game? I used Warrior as a crutch-class in Origins, because you can do a fair bit of damage and not die in 2 seconds if you get surrounded. It's probably the better choice for a very first playthrough.
Inquisition! That was my first choice but I'm now stuck between that and a rogue archer. Mainly because from screens I find the rogue archer's to look better. I don't like how you always have a shield on your back are a massive two handed weapon as a warrior. I'm picky I know. [editline]5th February 2015[/editline] Can anyone tell me if armor is universal for all classes? Or is it restricted like weapons are?
It's restricted: as in, heavy is for the warriors, medium is for the rogues, light is for the mages If you are looking for a "jack of all trades" class, I'd say knight enchanter, because you can go in melee range using a lightsaber and still be a mage and cast spell Also, something I'm starting to like about Inquisition, and that I really love in open world games, is that your exploration has a certain flow to it: if you managed to survive the shock of the Hinterlands, you can open new zones at your own pace. Once you get to the different areas, you can just follow the resident main quest and you are sure to collect resources, discover some landscapes and rise some experience Also, it's really easy to gain power, so don't be a scrooge
Fuck it, I've finally made a decision. My character will be a rogue archer as I think they have the ability to look the best, and if I tire of the combat I can always just switch to a different character in battles.

Unlimited skill resets for like 800 gold each. I started as an Archer, then switched to Daggers after about 7 hours of playtime.
About your armor question. There are light, medium and heavy armors but if you craft them you can use specific materials that will remove the class restriction.
Are there any armors in the game that look like the Scout Coat Rogues start with? Had a few different rogue armors and they all look too bulky/ugly for my liking, I love the initial one. But can't really keep using armor that only has 50 rating.
Nah, the "coat" style armors get really long after tier 1. IIRC the one you start with though is the "armor," not the coat. You get the coat schematic from the smith, but the one you begin the game with is the scout armor.
That was my only fault with playing a warrior, I don't like large clunky armour.
A mod added the Mage Champion armor to Origins, so I gave it to Morrigan. It might have worked if it didn't make her look so... muscular. [t]http://i.imgur.com/aY7zxlS.jpg[/t]

The Smith sells a Scout Coat schematic, but the trail is a lot shorter and the armor is a lot more padded.
Is there any way to change the colour of your armour? Every single one I've came across seems to have a slight purple tint.
You can't change the color of existing armor. You only choice is to use different materials when crafting.
One is very likely [sp]the Architect[/sp], while two more are mentioned as [sp]fighting in the Deep Roads, with one killing the other[/sp].
Thing is [sp]they may be able to survive like Coryphaeus. So if you killed the Architect he may yet still live. I believe The Architect is fully aware he's a magister, some speculate he's forgotten but I doubt that. His experiments on the Blight probably weren't as innocent as he claimed. Especially if Magisters can survive death by possessing the nearest creature carrying the blight.[/sp]
Is there any way to change the colour of your armour? Make your own armor and have it be your own color :eng101: Obsidian, Highever Weave and Snoufleur Skin master race. Really when it comes down to it there's no reason to *not* craft your own armor, it's very unbalanced. Always has higher stats, no level restrictions, and you can pick your own stats/colors. Most loot armor is garbage
A year before release, DA:I was a VERY different game. Other than graphically -The regions looked different, Crestwood was sunny and filled with castles and towers. -There were different locations. Some not in the game. -A huge selling point of the game (I remember this clearly) was keeps. You would capture keeps and there was this whole mechanic built around it. I still clearly remember that decision where the player must choose to defend a town or their keep and then if the town is destroyed you get a sad cutscene with Varric. In the full game it's an unimportant side quest. -Destructible environments. You could blow up rickety bridges to send enemies falling to their deaths. -Apparently it was 4 player co-op too Kotaku has screens, videos and a write up about the old Dragon Age. http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2015/02/06/dragon-age-inquisition-used-way-different-game Real interesting read. I did hear Gaider say they cut stuff because it wouldn't work technically. I guess there was a rush to meet to release date. Which is why the regions feel quite empty (especially some later game ones) and stuffed with fetch quests. Game still came out good in the end.
It's a shame. Big AAA games always have a lot of cool ideas but often end up cut because of time. DE:HR is another example. I'm not even sure if I want to read the article. I'm okay with DA:I as it is but I have a lot of complaints. I fear learning more would make me sad. For example they planned to let you become the new Divine even as a qunari male if you had enough influence. Basically make you super evil but in the end they cut a lot of controversial decisions from the game.
Don't know why that always happens with AAA games It's like if something isn't 100% polished they remove it, but at the same time nothing that's really good/amazing is ever 100% polished so they just wind up removing and downgrading almost everything? It's legitimately confusing.
I'm not too fussed when games choose to go in a different direction, either due to time or mechanical issues (as seems to be the case with Keeps & co-op). My issue is more when content is removed entirely due to time, without anything to replace it (looking at you Mass Effect 3). Human Revolution falls somewhere in-between; two entire hubs were cut for time, but the game is totally solid without either of them as-is.
I've been kinda sitting here, debating on purchasing the game, but waiting for a sale, is the content actually lengthy enough? (...Also are there any deals?)
I've been kinda sitting here, debating on purchasing the game, but waiting for a sale, is the content actually lengthy enough? (...Also are there any deals?)
If there's anything you could say about Inquisition it's that it's not lacking in content. That said there is a lot of repetitive content throughout each environment (Close X amount of Fade Rifts, Establish X amount of Camps, Find X amount of Shards). I'm not bothered by the repetitiveness of it, but some people might be. I've certainly put in more than enough hours to justify the money I spent though.
How far am I into the story if I have to go to Redcliffe for the first time?
That's the main problem with this newfound trend of the gaming industry to convert everything into an open world game and the main reason I don't like it Personally, one of the main reason I'm enjoying Inquisition as much as I do is about me carefully selecting which quests and assignments I want to bother myself with and discarding anything else mercilessly (the shards shit and the stars puzzle shenaningas were out of my agenda the very moment I laid eyes upon them)
How far am I into the story if I have to go to Redcliffe for the first time?
not far. When you have 4 power points, you can already go to Val Royaux, there the cutscene happens with Fiona, after that you can go to Redcliffe. Just close 1 or 2 rifts in the Hinterlands & set up a camp or 2 and you're ready to go to Val Royaux.
How far am I into the story if I have to go to Redcliffe for the first time?
Not very at all.
Not very at all.
Well fuck, I've got 9 hours of playtime and I've barely been in the Hinterlands.
what the hell have you been doing?
I have no idea. Took 3 hours to get to Haven for the first time, since then been exploring Val Royaux and a bit of the Hinterlands.
I have no idea. Took 3 hours to get to Haven for the first time, since then been exploring Val Royaux and a bit of the Hinterlands.
Technically you're still in the prologue

It's legitimately confusing.
Gaider said they never cut anything that was actually working. If it didn't work at all it was cut. Huge things were only cut if they couldn't make them work technically or within the logic of the world. But even then those things were so early in development it doesn't matter, they were just T-poses and shit. He basically said in an interview that things got cut so they could work on improving other parts. If anything was that good they'll revisit it. The Dragon Age 2 DLC that was cancelled and put into the game is basically gone. He said something about the [sp]temple of Mythal being where a lot of that went[/sp]. He warned people not to complain they still haven't got their Dragon Age 2: Exalted March DLC as it ended badly for a lot of fan favourite characters. I think he compared it to Red Wedding but I could be talking out my bum.
Today I decided to change my party: now I'm going me, Cassandra, Cole and Dorian The reason is about Varric being far too fragile in combat and dealing a lot of damage to a single target at a time (while Dorian can dish out powerful magic aoe attacks). Also, I respecced my character to be a buffer/debuffer, so I really needed a pure dps mage Speaking of Dorian, this evening I took part in his companion quest I dare say, it was one of the most touching moment from the game yet
