On the other hand, I don't like the American Male voice at all. Maybe as a Qunari, I haven't tried that. It's too deep for a human, that's for sure. Of course, the British Male voice sounds like a very specific kind of character to me, too.
Yeah it's not entirely fitting for Nicolas Mage. Could be a little higher, maybe a little less "posh" to truly be Nicholas Mage.
... REALLY?!
bethesda does the same thing lucien lachance from oblivion is mr tenpenny's assistant in fallout 3
Personally I don't mind that. It lets me play a game of Hey! It's That Voice which is pretty fun.
So i fell through the floor in skyhold, and i find this shit hidden underneath solas' room. Wtf bioware
What happens in the Fade stays in the Fade. Unless it somehow gets out. Gee thanks [sp]Fen'Harel[/sp]
Dragon Age inquisition is on Orgin for 40 buckaronies this weekend. Is it worth the price?
it was 50% off not too long ago, coulda got it for cheaper then you can get it for $31 on g2a right now
when it comes to innovation?
Dragon Age inquisition is on Orgin for 40 buckaronies this weekend. Is it worth the price?
Spend an extra $10 and treat yourself to The Witcher 3 instead.
So. It's been a while, and Witcher 3 finally out. Despite my last post here I don't want to post something gloaty but compared to W3, DA:I looks like even more of a letdown than it was when I last played it. W3 proves you CAN have an open world game that is not only plot driven, but can handle adult themes, feel real and alive and even make random exploration interesting - everything DA:I tried and failed to achieve. Not to mention that downgrade and all, Witcher looks so much better than Inquisition you'd think there were years of technology between them. I don't know. As unhappy as I was with some of Mass Effect 3, the Mass Effect games really were some of the most amazing to look at, awesome to play games I ever experienced. I just can't fathom how Bioware went from that to this.
I just can't fathom how Bioware went from that to this.
most likely the development team is now composed of different people
If I really need to insult Dragon Age: Inquisition over a comparison with the Witcher series, the characters' animations in conversations look like shit to me now
The funny thing is that the team actually looked to how Skyrim and Witcher 2 achieved. I loved Dragon Age: Inquisition when it first came out, but when I began playing Witcher 3, it just blew DAI out of the water in terms of storytelling, social goals, combat gameplay, story choices, land, and facial and character body animation. Despite the advanced tech of Frostbite, they somehow couldn't fix the infamous Bioware face. God damn.
Also beards. Witcher beards are so much better.
Dragon Age's beards should have grown longer each time my character levels up. What a wasted opportunity.
Also they should have looked like they're not made of shiny plastic and (badly) glued on.
Stuff like the Bioware face and the taped-on beard exists because of the supposed difficulty of trying to code it on custom appearances.
I disagree.
I can like and enjoy both games
I can like and enjoy both games
But you can only like and enjoy one game's beards. Okay shutting up about the beards now.
I disagree.
That's clearly modded
Also they should have looked like they're not made of shiny plastic and (badly) glued on.
Beards didn't look like that on Xbox One, PS4 or decent PCs. Comparing a poorly designed custom character in low graphics settings to Geralt is a bit unfair. The games have different aims and gameplay. The only thing in common is the fantasy setting really. Witcher is more of an action storytelling experience, whereas Dragon Age is roleplaying (in the pretend to be somebody sense of the word).

Witcher is more of an action storytelling experience, whereas Dragon Age is roleplaying (in the pretend to be somebody sense of the word).
Yeah, I picked the worst Dragon Age beard I could find. But there's no denying Dragon Age's facial hair was strangely shiny and blocky and rarely looked like it belonged on anyone's face. Dorian's mustache looked like it was a clip-on. And while there's no denying The Witcher's various beards, neckbeards and other facial hairs look more natural (as do the faces they grow out of), even old Skyrim's scraggly viking breads generally looked more natural on all those Skyrim dirty potato faces. But seriously, I have to disagree with you on DA:I and Witcher being wholly different games. Both games set up to do something very similar: an epic role playing adventure set in a gritty high fantasy world, full of complex politics, mature race and sex issues and a brutal war going on in the background. Both games tried to present their heroes with tough moral choices and with interesting supporting characters that would feel like real people you can learn about and form relationships with, even sexual relationships. Both games promised an epic main storyline, interesting side quests and wide open maps ripe for exploration and full of points of interest and interesting enemies. Both games even offer epic boss monsters to fight, crafting systems and horseback riding. The only difference (in my opinion, anyway) is that DA:I completely failed to reach all these goals, while TW3 mostly nailed them. Inquisition to me feels like a vast, sterile MMO you play alone. There's the main plot, full of fancy set pieces and cinematics, but it's relatively short and cliche. And everything else is just busywork. Big empty maps full of constantly respawning trash mobs and meaningless distractions and collections tasks, NPCs that just stand around doing nothing unless they're supposed to give you a task and everything else being completely static. Inquisition, other than the main plot missions, mostly feels like its using the open world to waste your time and fill up the game, like all those minigames in sandbox games like Prototype or Watchdogs, only without the fun. And the Witcher... well, you can go to the relevant thread here and see. It's everything Inquisition isn't. Apollo there said it best, I think. tl;dr Both games ended up playing very differently, but I think they set out to do something very similar. Its just the Inquisition mostly fell short.
Let's bump this I've uninstalled the game some days ago because I lost all hope about new WORTHWHILE DLC
I re-installed it a few days ago. Never finished the game when it came out, got sidetracked with finals etc. when I got to [sp]the point where you get that huge castle/keep thingymabob.[/sp]
Let's bump this I've uninstalled the game some days ago because I lost all hope about new WORTHWHILE DLC
WELL, some DLC came out today... but it's an armor pack with Qunari stuff so... probably not what you were hoping for, I'm guessing.
Let's bump this I've uninstalled the game some days ago because I lost all hope about new WORTHWHILE DLC
I read that they're working on more story oriented DLC for DA:I. Jaws of Hakkon came out like what, 3-4 months ago?
I just want to play as the warden again, or even have them come for a short cameo. Its probably never gonna happen but one can hope right?
I wish they didn't have god awful character customization. In Inquisition it's just absolutely terrible, I created perhaps 50+ characters and they all look extremely awful and samey.
Finally got Inquisition running playably (but still shit) and I'm enjoying it so far. Even dicking around in the Hinterlands is pretty entertaining. [editline]asdf[/editline] Well, I met Sera. And then I politely asked her to fuck off. She was kind of amusing for a few seconds but there's no way I could deal with her for more than a few hours without going totally bonkers and dismembering someone.
New DLC tomorrow: The Descent, featuring Darkspawn and Deep Roads. I know a lot of people moan about the tedium of the Deep Roads and how the Darkspawn are old news... but honestly it won't really feel like a Dragon Age game until I'm lost underground, getting punched in the face by an Ogre.
Really? It could be the time to finally reinstall the game
I really do hope that this new DLC isn't on the same vein as the Jaws, because honestly no, I'm not spending my money on roughly another two hours or so of MMORPG gameplay
