[sp]So Corypheus is vulnerable after the death of his dragon, and instead of killing him there for good the inquisitor sends him physically to the fade which was what he wanted all along.[/sp] am I misunderstanding what happened or is this really stupid
By the looks of it, the inquisitor [sp]opens several small rifts inside Corypheus' body with a small delay between each other. These in turn basically torn up Corypheus from the inside out and send him into the Fade one piece at a time, which I'd only assume would kill him in a very painful fashion[/sp]
The other Magisters are named in a big-ass setting book that came out last year, World of Thedas Vol. II. There's the full text of an apocryphal book of scripture that tells of the story of their assault on the Golden City and names them all. Can't recall any offhand, though.
Are any of the Dragon Age novels actually worth reading?
Are any of the Dragon Age novels actually worth reading?
It's been a long time since I read it, but I remember The Stolen Throne being pretty good.
I forget if I posted about it here, but I was gonna start a little project to make Inquisition Haven in the Origins Toolset [t]http://i.imgur.com/9v0Tuae.png[/t] I didn't get very far before I discovered that there aren't really any good equivalent models in Origins for a lot of the generic stuff in Inquisition, namely, like, all of the walls and shit :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/rV0ElkF.jpg[/t] :tableflip:
Oh no... They better keep it as a spin-off if it happens. I feel like DA:I did plenty of things right enough. They just needed to make it better. More depth to the combat, smaller more finely crafted zones with less MMO quests, etc. They don't need to completely change it up. I mean it's not the worse possible thing they could do with it. There's a lot of RPGs that have turn-based tactical combat that I love (Fallout 1/2, Shadowrun Dragonfall/Hong Kong, Divinity: Original Sin), but I don't think going in this direction with Dragon Age will be a benefit to them.

In concept, an XCOM-style game in a fantasy setting could work out well enough. But I dunno if Dragon Age is the right IP to do it with, even if they've already sunk a lot of man-hours into building up the world. Making it a spinoff might work, but it's all in the execution. And it's entirely possible to execute something poorly.
I just found that he said it wouldn't be DA4 [editline]20th February 2016[/editline]
In concept, an XCOM-style game in a fantasy setting could work out well enough. If he related it to games like Divinity: Original Sin or Shadowrun: Dragonfall- games with XCOM-like combat but are unequivocally RPGs- I'd be more on board with it. I was immediately negative because I've been worried about where they're going with this series and XCOM is a very foreign feeling game to compare it to. But now that I think on it... If they did something close to Divinity, I could actually see it working. I'd actually go so far as it say I'd probably like that.
Well, let's just hope it was a matter of wording and not a full-on "Remember. WE will be watching." schwing-ding. They should at least have action points, and not just the all-or-nothing "action pips" that we have in the current XCOM games. That's one thing that kept me from diving into Enemy Unknown.
So I'm curious, at the end of Trespasser, did you guys choose to [sp]Disband the Inquisition, or not?[/sp]
So I'm curious, at the end of Trespasser, did you guys choose to [sp]Disband the Inquisition, or not?[/sp]
I chose [sp]not to disband mostly because I kinda felt like disbanding makes everything you did feel like it meant less. But after I finished the game and I was thinking back I think disbanding is the better idea.[/sp] I'm going to stick with my original choices but the good thing about the keep is you can go back and change the decisions if you want to.
Gotta give this game credit for making some of the side quest treasure hunting puzzles fun. Having a blast figuring out the Tomb quest in the Hissing Wastes, which led me to acquire the Legion of the Dead schematics. All that's left now is to piece together the armor set and weapons as shown in the box art and promos with the best crafting materials. Fuck the Hissing Wastes, ok?
Fuck the Hissing Wastes, ok?
I see no problem with the Hissing Wastes. Unless I'm missing something? Is there a super BS quest or event there? I thought luring the level 15 Abyssal High Dragon in the Eastern Approach was BS. All that for the second dragon you will fight is pretty dumb. Why not save that for the last one? Aside from that, I romanced Cassandra, and I can honestly say that this was the best romance option in the game imo. I almost went for Josephine, but then I realized that I like Cassandra for her story and her character types a lot more.
The only problem I had with the hissing wastes is that it was sooooo big compared to how much there was to do, and getting around took a while even after unlocking all the camps. But other than that I liked the zone.
Any of the DLC worth picking up?
Any of the DLC worth picking up?
I hear Harkon and Trespasser were good, but you need to be high level late game to do them. Thinking of doing Harkon when I reach level 18.
Any of the DLC worth picking up?
In order of importance: 1) The Trespasser is by far the only mandatory DLC for Dragon: Age Inquisition, since it resolves several plot threads from the game and serves as a bridge to the main plot of Dragon Age IV. It's basically a mixture between Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC (heavy focus on your relation with your companions, you get to say goodbye to them) and the DLCs of Dragon Age II (you are exploring what's basically a very long and detailed dungeon and you alternate between dialogue and combat sequences) 2) The Descent is basically a combat gauntlet taking place in the Deep Roads, to the point you either have excellent gear and are in the 23-ish level range or you are not going to make it out of it alive. The side activities (extra loot and a micro war table with special missions) are nothing extraordinary to speak of and the story of the DLC, while intriguing for the world of Dragon Age at large, isn't milked as much as you'd expect and the two support characters are just ok 3) The Jaws of Hakkon adds another open world area to the map which isn't that much different than the ones you explored in the main game: there is a main questline and some side ones, the whole area is lacking any cinematic cutscene whatsoever and there are loot and resources to be found, as well as war table missions. The whole plot there is anime filler level at best and the two bosses are reused assets (another problem with this DLC, honestly)
