That's not really true. Looking at the usual places like deviantArt and stuff, the front page still has waaaaaaaay more weird Sonic and FNAF shit than Undertale.
And as a game, Undertale is way better than FNAF or modern Sonic games.
This is going to be biased from me, and I say this as someone who's visited tumblr all of one time a couple years back but I really don't get everyone saying that fanbase is bad.
95% of the posts I see complaining about the fanbase never say why, or giving reasons that literally every other fanbase has to deal with. Like SU I know is bad because I constantly hear about how fans of the cartoon go for the throats of everyone who draws any character remotely off model but never heard anything that bad on UT (yet)
Dismissing the game entirely on the fact that the fanbase is bad is really stupid. It's not just an Undertale thing, lot of people do this with lots of games/shows/movies/etc., and it's just silly. Like if you have genuine faults with parts of the game, that's fine, hell I love Undertale but it's FAR from flawless. But saying it's bad because of what some morons on tumblr said makes no sense.

its bad because it exists, but not only does it have the audacity to exist but also exist on the internet, on sites in which people frequent no less, as such it is clearly a travesty.

Undertale was easily my favorite game of 2015 and I still think the fanbase is complete shit. Like I regular the Undertale and the SU threads here frequently and SU's is much better.

it's just silly people that are scared to be associated with those rare super-freaks that every fandom gets. I guess they feel they'll just ~magically transform~ into one of them if they happen to like the same things lol.

I uh, repeat the "never explain why" thing.
Like for Steven Universe I frequently hear stories about the fans sending death threats to each other over disagreements and the like, or how some girl was nearly pushed to suicide over drawing Steven too skinny or something along those lines. That's what I'd call a totally shit fanbase.
Undertale has a big fanbase and there's a lot of cringe inducing things in it like that infamous Ask Humantale thing but like I said, it's all stuff I've seen in other fanbases and the like and hardly makes it stand out to me unless I'm missing something. (Which is why I'm asking for some clarity instead of just "it's bad fanbase" )

I don't feel that it's fair for HM2's OST to be picked, since most of it is independent songs used in the game, rather than created for the game.

They get dumbed down for the same reason every "10/10 GOTYAY" post gets dumbed when a game is popular.

Not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to this but at the same time it got way predictable. When there is one unique game that gets a lot of praise from gamers it usually wins every positive award it's nominated in. Sometimes it was two such games.

I'm not talking about "HOLY SHIT BEST GAME OF ALL TIME" posts, it's when I see people casually bringing it up on FP there's usually at least two or three people who get pissy about it. It happens with a lot of non-circlejerk popular games and it's getting pretty annoying.
