Stop playing Cerebella
I did the tutorials, but I don't stand a chance online

Seems like there's a huge misconception about FGs here.
It takes quite awhile to become decent at them. You don't just pick a FG up and be good. You need to put in the time to learn mechanics and you won't get away with spamming fireballs against a decent player.

I think a common misconception about this game (and conventional fighting games in general, like Street Fighter) is that people think they can just pick up and play it on the fly and expect to beat people straight up.
That is to say, you can still play this game to have fun and not excel at it, but if you actually want to get good at it, you're going to have to practice and understand the basic fundamentals of the game. While I don't particularly like certain things about Skullgirls, I must admit that it does have one of the best tutorial modes, for its genre. It babies you and takes you step-by-step through the basics of the game and helps you gain a greater understanding of how to play and what to do in certain situations.
That being said, like most other fighting games, you can only do so much by practicing by yourself. Players get better by experience. There's really no other substitution for it. I know that fighting games can be frustrating for newer players because there's definitely a skill gap between levels of players, but you can overcome that with perseverance and patience. It's not easy but it is possible.
If you're content to play the game at a basic level, so be it, I'm not going to judge you for it (Play the game! Have fun!). Just realize that a lot of the things you might consider "OP" or "cheap" or "retarded" or "gay" usually have a ton of ways to deal with them. If you're willing to learn, then your enjoyment of the game/genre might just increase!

Stop playing Cerebella
i went with the character with the most attractive cleavage sry
um get out of here but that title belongs to Valentine
Cerebella is fine, you just have to understand that she's a grappler.
I told him that after he said he couldnt comob as Cerebella
I also told him Valentine has best tits
good man
Cerebella can combo but you should take advantage of her command throws as they can't be teched.
My Cerebella combo is c.lk c.mp c.hp (air) j.lk j.hk (off the ground) c.lk c.mp c.hp (air) j.mk j.hp
c. = crouch, j. = jump
lk = light kick, mk = middle kick, mp = middle punch etc etc
that's a really junky combo
What do you suggest then?
c.lk, c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, s.mp, merry-go-rilla, dash, otg c.mk, c.hp, j.lp mash, s.lp x2, c.mp, s.hp xx cere-copter
[editline]12th August 2013[/editline]
or c.lk, c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, s.mp, j.hp, c.lp, c.mp, c.hp, j.lp mash, s.lp, s.mp. s.mp, s.hk xx (L) lock n' load xx cere-copter, dash, c.lk, c.mp
ok i'll try that out when I get home. I just nabbed a random combo off srk because I just started Cerebella as solo Valentine blows
I love experimenting in the Training Room, Filia has tons of fun combos.
My favorite thing to do is J.HP > Dash Cancel > J.HP > J.HK > C.LK > S.MK/MP > S.HP > J.MP > J.MK > Dash Cancel > J.HP > L. Hairball
And it's always entertaining to one-touch-kill a 3man character by using all my meter.
switch out the last dash cancel, j.hp to a j.mk xx j.hk, (H) hairball. there's literally no reason to use light or medium hairball when heavy is superior with no disadvantage.
So I'm thinking of getting this, I do like some fighting games but I'm not that great at them. Would a standard 360 controller work for this, and would a controller be better than a keyboard?

Yes and debatable
Great, now that lobbies are out, MP is exactly like SF4 now.
Not as much people in quick play/pure 1v1s and either there's no lobbies or they're all full. All play only works if everyone in the lobby has finished their games or something so if you join midway you won't be able to play until everyone's finished even if there's someone else who is waiting too.
Way too much downtime, be careful what you wish for I suppose.
What do you guys think of Squigly?
the more I play with her, the more I adore her combos and moveset.
she could use another blockbuster though, she has a pretty limited selection.
Lobbies are pretty rad. They are quiet buggy for now tho
If you signed up for the beta tournament then now is the chance to see if you're in. http://challonge.com/users/labzerogames I am at match H of the 1st group, I will lose with pride!
Wow I suck hard at this but it's so fun. What can I do to improve, and are combos something I should discover myself or can they be taught to me? I like playing Squigly, Painwheel, and Valentine, if this matters at all.
Do all the tutorials to learn the fundamentals and then maybe look up a few combos
then start practising
How I play Squiggly? This girl wasn't made for me but I want to try anyway.
If I played a decent Q I have to do ok with her and Painwheel too. Any combos I should try online?
okay so
peacock players are projectile spamming cunts
cerebella players are grapple spamming cunts
double players are corner combo spamming cunts
valentine players are blockbuster spamming cunts
filia players are hyper-aggressive cunts
can we all agree that Parasoul players are just plain cunts?

I don't think fighting games are right for you :v:

that's your opinion :^)
i have fun, and i'm basically stating their role/attack style and placing the word cunt at the end of it.

How is Miss Fortune not on your list :v: I play her and feel like an asshole.
My Quanba Q1 arrived today, unfortunately work and a 100km drive prevented me from retrieving it before the post office closed.
Doesn't the Q1 cost $100+ to ship to Australia? Could of shelled out a bit more for a Madcatz stick.
It cost me $130 but $20 of that was because it wasn't standard shipping.
Besides I wanted the clamps.
