most standard console controllers work (be warned the 360 dpad is garbage though)
you COULD get a SFxT fight pad for like $20 but it only lasts 1-2 months before it starts acting up so I would only recommend it if you're still on the fence about FGs and are prepared to buy a stick later on.

yeah reading up on them and asking around, internally they're almost identical. they use the same electronics and parts, but the case is different obviously. i'm gonna go ahead and order the SCV stick, even though it's kind of extremely ugly. :/ on the plus side, i've got amazon prime so it ships for free and within 2 days. the PRO isn't available on amazon and i'd have to pay like $13 for shipping.

also qanba make absolutely fantastic sticks, I used a couple Madcatz sticks before trying and buying a Qanba Q4 and it's incredible

I was under the impression that the Cthulu is a custom PCB...? I've also heard reports that the most recent version of the Q4 has made major improvements in speed but I'm not sure. I just prefer the Qanba because I only really play online and it's a way more comfortable stick to use (size, slight panel tilt, felt on bottom so it doesnt slide around, slightly heavier) and the dual-mod is a must have for me, so that's why I chose it.
