I just bought Skullgirls today on a whim and really fucking like Peacock
playing peacock is the equivalent of picking Teemo in League of Legends
playing peacock is the equivalent of literally being the reincarnation of Hitler
ftfy
Ain't my fault ya'll can't handle zoning
I dunno for some reason I never really have a problem with peadick. Ms. Fortune's head if used right can obliterate any peaphallus. At least ones that I've come across.
I always get really frustrated trying to do directional combos. I can get Cerebella's "Ultimate Showstopper" to work once out of every two dozen times. I'm using a 360 gamepad and everything, so why is it so difficult?
Cause you're using a 360 gamepad

You'd likely be better off using the thumbstick (if that's even possible, I have no experience with controllers in this game myself).
if you're having trouble with cerebella's 360 grab you can input the 360 while dashing or jumping to make it easier.
Cause you're using a 360 gamepad
I bought this game to a friend and before I made sure every single command in the game was doable with a basic 360 gamepad, including the Cerebella ultimate. It's perfectly possible to input all the commands in the game with a gamepad, even though it's not as comfortable as with an arcade stick. Speaking of 360 gamepads you may want to configure it like this if you have difficulties : Light Punch : B Medium Punch : Y High Punch : RB Light Kick : A Medium Kick : X High Kick : LB Macro 1 : LT Macro 2 : RT Set one or both macros to A+B. This is the most optimal configuration for gamepads because it allows you to enter all the P+P or K+K commands without twisting your hand around. The default config for 360 gamepads is terrible.
Well using kb/pad is fine but there are some weaknesses. After getting over the initial migration phrase, I can't go back to using my Madcatz fightpad: [t]http://static3.thcdn.com/productimg/0/600/600/69/10594369-1329915928-592227.jpg[/t]
Other character references include but are not limited to: VALENTINE -Sheena (Tales of symphonia) and those are just color pallet references
Valentine also has a color pallet that resembles Haruko's Nurses outfit from FLCL

Never went back.
Some day I was tired of playing fighters with a gamepad and went straight for an Arcade Stick which was bundled with Soul Calibur V. Never went back.
Arcade sticks are just so much more fun imo
Is it weird I use the stick on my ps3 controller?
Arcade sticks are just so much more fun imo
Agreed. Nothing like playing with an arcade stick while playing any fighting game really.
Some day I was tired of playing fighters with a gamepad and went straight for an Arcade Stick which was bundled with Soul Calibur V. Never went back.
Curse this country of mine that can't except fight sticks/arcade sticks into society.
I'm so pissed off about the fact that the thumb stick on GC controllers don't recognise the diagonals. I was so confused when none of the quarter-circles worked while I was being decimated by the AI.
Use Joy2Key and map it to the keyboard controls.
Im using a Mac to play and I can't find a Joy2Key alternative for it.
Really? What adapter are you using?
Some sketchy-ass (probably chinese) adapter I've gotten really cheap off ebay, it works well so I didn't suspect anything wrong with it. How does it work well if it doesn't recognize diagonal inputs?
LOL I was fighting someone and I got a Happy Birthday with Cerebella's Diamonds are Forever (Happy Birthday is when you KO two characters at once) by accident. You get the achievement and the game laughs at you Ashzu: LOOOOL senpusha: ASHZU senpusha: YOU FUCKER senpusha: AHAHAHA senpusha: that was amazing Ashzu: how rude Ashzu: game laughed senpusha: yeah senpusha: I heard that senpusha: what the hell
How does it work well if it doesn't recognize diagonal inputs?
I thought it did, until now that is.

The D-pad beneath the analog stick works, but that thing is the worst.
I thought it did, until now that is.
What were you playing that you didn't even notice the missing inputs?

Actually getting a Happybirthday KO is amazing

If you live in Oceania and still play Skullgirls, make sure you participate in the Skullbats Tournament next Friday! (All details in the link) It's not really a serious tournament but it's still pretty fun and gives you a good idea of where you stand in the region if you want to put it that way. All skill levels are welcome but you should probably at least have a basic grasp of the game (Do all the tutorials and know one combo) We got a pretty good turnout today. We had 13 participants (Down from 18 or so because people were late/forgot to enter) [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] Also the Skullheart forums are back online. It's still picking up steam but nonetheless it should be your go to source for Skullgirls discussion.
I haven't played Skullgirls in a while because of KOF. I should probably start playing it again to get ready for the tourney. Maybe I can win at least one match this time.
