Got this game pretty recently, liking more than any other fighter I've played, most because I can actually input combos.
But I was curious- will all of the 5 characters funded by that Indiegogo campaign be free for a period, or was it just Squigly? And will Squigly ever go on sale? The other skin pack has a discount on Steam now, I think, but Squigly doesn't.
All of them will be free for some time, kinda like Squigly.

it really gets boring after playing against someone when your internet suddenly gets a massive lag spike which lasts for at least 5 minutes

In quickmatch, I might get some matches under 160ms, if I'm lucky. Most are usually over this, up to 400ms. No matter what anyone else says about the SG netcode, I have often had matches rollback and generally stutter when I start accepting anyone over 130ms. In a game like this, that can often mean death, if the other guy knows what they're doing.
Very few other European players in general as well.
The hell are you smoking, there's two lobbies right now and one of them has 7 people in it. (Not to mention the browser doesn't show full lobbies)
Also stop trying to pub in a niche fighter.
Try getting on at different times.
It's kind of odd, as I usually see a populated server or two when I look.

Best way to play fighting games: find people to play with regularly, in this case either on forums or steam groups.
Just giving my own experience as an EU player, finding decent players is a chore.

Yeah, I would add the odd decent player on Steam who I meet in Quickmatch, but it's hit & miss if they actually accept, never-mind having a set.
The last guy I had a nice set with was DeKillSage, who is apparently a known SG player. Thai Ming is pretty good when I've had some matches, still topping the leader-boards last I checked. Several other guys I played with have stopped playing altogether, sadly. I often just opt for AE instead, less of a hassle overall.

Is there a non-Steam way to get this? I've looked around and it seems there should be but I can't find where to buy it. Closest thing would be [url=http://shop.skullgirls.com]this[/url] from their site but it simply doesn't load at all.
There's no way to get it non-Steam on PC.
I think I hit that point where I'm either going to absolutely destroy someone online or get destroyed online, there's no middle ground. Is joining up with the FP group a valid option for practice?
Most people here probably don't even play anymore. A lot of people stopped playing when they figured out Skullgirls (and fighting games as a whole) take effort to get good at.
I haven't played in a while because I will return when there will be another tournament.
I'm decent-ish at a handful of characters, mainly fortune, but have a hard time finding time to play. I used to play it every week with my brother, can barely find the time to see him either these days.
Over the summer my schedule is supposed to get a bit better, probably will play more then
I used to play it alot on release but it got a bit boring afterwards, i still love it play it, but just not alot like i used to at first.
i am still up for games if anyone here would like to.
