Wasn't Eliza going to have different stances or am I misremembering? I seem to recall she would be able to swap between her regular form and her skeleton form, with the flesh being slower but stronger compared to the skeleton, which would be fast but weak.
From the video of her early stuff it seems like she's just a regular character without the stance gimmicks.

Apparently it's a reference to the vocaloid Megurine Luka from what I've read. And that does make sense. The outfit is similar to Luka's with the except of Luka having a diagonal cut skirt and her hair is the same color plus the band on her arm is clearly the one from Luka's design. Everything after like 9 is locked and everything after 13 is nonexistant.
I just got this during the sale, absolutely loving it. Valentine is my favorite to play as currently, though I'm not very good.

I feel a lot like Pat from TBFP right now. Not in that I didn't like Skullgirls, but that I always sucked with assist characters in everything. Just fiddling around with Ms. Fortune and Cerebella right now taught me pretty much everything about them and now I can do stuff. It's fucking great.
so i did most of the tutorials, this is my first non-smashbrothers fighting game and i still feel like i have no idea what the fuck im doing
i can tell this game is really good but i just dont get it
Been finding games on encore on my ps3. Dunno if I was luck but I hope the game isn't as dead as thought on encore.

So I bought this because I've always wanted to try fighting games out. Loving it! The character designs- while super fan servicey- are fantastic and the art/animation is incredible!
That said, I learned I suck so horribly at fighting games that it has gained the attention of the world's greatest scholars, who have concluded that my lack of skill is to a degree so significant that it cannot be described in any known human tongue.
But I feel compelled to learn and I guess that's what's important. I started with Big Band, but now I hear he's an advanced character so I guess I should learn on a more basic one.
Easiest I'd probably say is Cerebella or Filia. Filia fits on any team as 2nd or 3rd (Best on 2nd) and Cerebella while less versatile, is possibly the easiest character in the game. She's pretty good too, a solid mid tier (Although the tier list in Skullgirls is pretty compressed in the first place, you can win with pretty much any character as long as your team makes sense)
I think Skullgirls is a good starting point for fighting games however you [I]may[/I] need to take the extra step and find players yourself. Assuming you're American you may want to check out this Steam group: [url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SaltCrossPuns[/url] (specifically the group chat) or the Skullgirls IRC.
Also the Skullheart forums for anything Skullgirls related.

Filia and Double are the 2 best characters as far as i know, for a third maybe parasoul
Ms. Fortune, Valentine, and Parasoul are the three 'best', but it doesn't mean much when everyone else is viable.
My opinion kinda sucks because I've mostly been trying to focus on getting better at my team rather than worrying about whos good and whos not due to SG having pretty compressed tiers already but I'd say in no particular order, Valentine, Filia, Double and possibly honorable mention to Parasoul.
Don't really take my word for it but Valentine is certainly top tier and Filia is high/top tier too. Some people say Valentine is the best character in the game and she's OP but I don't think she's that out of line. She lacks some defensive options, sucks when not on point and has below average combo damage (Although this only means you'll need to be more tricky with your resets and mix ups)
I try to focus on my local scene so lesser played characters like Painwheel I don't pay much attention to as not many people her in my scene.

Fortune got nerfed so that's debatable now
Also Parasoul lacks air mobility and her reversal involves opening yourself up to highs due to it being a charge move. It also has a big blind spot in the middle. I don't recall her frames being that good either.
