Are you pressing two kick buttons at the exact same time instead of pressing one twice? I had trouble pulling it off at first since the tutorial instructions weren't too clear on it.
[editline]3rd August 2013[/editline]
That's very odd. The main game shouldn't be playable yet since it releases on 22nd August. The Beta is playable though but Story mode was taken out recently. I heard this might be because of the publishers decision and Mike (the director) didn't like this but couldn't argue much against them.
I am, I know how to do it, and I can do it. But it's not very reliable since it seems I have to click the buttons so goddamn fast.

theyre pretty much super arts from third strike
Can you get out of these infini combos?

if their combo is not the exact same, no.

you can't infinite combo in skullgirls
you can't infinite combo in skullgirls
A combo that lasts for 40+ seconds and leaves you with little to no health is close enough to infinite.
When the game detects a looping combo through monitoring the players' attacks, the other player can break free of the infinite by hitting any button. In addition, Skullgirls offers protection against high and low "unblockable attacks", which occur when a player, for example, uses a low attack and calls in a high-hitting assist, making it nearly impossible for the opponent to block. The game attempts to remedy the issue by offering a short grace period after blocking that guards against other hit types.
don't blame the game for your own bad play
Ok I found out why I'm having so much trouble with the gregor samson. It's the hitting kick twice at the same time part, mostly at the same time. Turns out that I was hitting the other key just a little bit too late making it not at the same time.
ok enough skullgirls for today , time to go to an anime con and cosplay !
I pretty much did all the tutorials but I still suck, how do I improve?
Practicing against players helps a lot, but right now online will just get your face kicked in.
I pretty much did all the tutorials but I still suck, how do I improve?
Sit in training mode for hours figuring out combos, googling BnB combos for the character you like also helps.
I pretty much did all the tutorials but I still suck, how do I improve?
using moves in training =/= applying them in a real game
practice, you aren't going to become good overnight.
~4 Hours and I can now only just hold my own against the majority of players. But there are still those players that lock me up and kill me in a couple of seconds.
Just tried versus for the first time. I'm so much better than I thought, the other guy didn't get a flawless victory. Although I forgot how to tag in so it was a stupid idea to use 2 characters.
don't blame the game for your own bad play
yes, there are no infinite combos in this game but there are plenty that can take 3/4 or be an instant kill. no need to be an asshole.

well... it's definitely a beta. i crash at random times in multiplayer matches which makes me feel bad because my opponent probably thinks i ragequit or something.
anyways whenever lobbies are introduced, we should get a facepunch group together. i suck at most fighting games that aren't Injustice or BlazBlue (which i am only marginally above suck-level at) so i'd be a good punching bag for new players.
Playing this with a regular keyboard is pretty much akin to riding a bicycle using only one arm.
That, or I just suck.
I've been trying to pull off Hairball > Gregor Samson for hours straight and I can't even do Hairball.
I can't even find a match that's below 250 ping.
How am I supposed to play this with other players :v:

I've gotten used to doing quarter circles with the keyboard but trying to do the zig zag thing is a pain in the arse.
I wonder if there's an actual way to pull that move off consistently
Well the game is suppose to be played with pad/stick. Only SF4 gave keyboard players a break by adding leniancy to the game.
2x QCF (ultra input) can be done with 2x down forward (can skip diagonal)
and DP can be done by tapping the diagonal twice
Ok I find it's so much easier to do the Gregor Samson if instead of hitting two kick buttons at the same time, you press all the buttons.

Watch others play, learn from your mistakes online etc. Look up what moves are punishable via frame data, find a sparring partner etc.

Lobbies aren't available yet but if they allow labeling you could try to set up a newbie lobby.

...that, of course, will be filled by a bunch of EVO pr0 dudes wanting easy wins in no time.
Then kick them if you make your own lobby. Or find a bunch of newbies like yourself and spar with them.
