Can someone explain Iosefka's whole deal to me, including the imposter?
Can someone explain Iosefka's whole deal to me, including the imposter?
Do you mean lore or how she works in the actual game.
Can someone explain Iosefka's whole deal to me, including the imposter?
Oooh boy, time to stretch those lore and writing muscles... Well, you wake up in her clinic. My guess is that she housed you while you were getting your transfusion, and during that red wolf hallucination. When you come to she's locked in another room with her possible patients. She's essentially the first NPC you come across if you are thorough. Iosefka doesn't trust you the first time when you meet the first time, so she gives you a vial of her special blood(best blood, so use it right.) When you use one up, she gives you a new vial if you come back. She doesn't let you in because she fears that you will kill her and her patients. More interaction with her leads to her warming up to you and gaining your trust. If you come back the 4th time for her blood BEFORE KILLING GASCOIGNE, she gets enamored with you for your survival and bravery out on the night of the hunt and wishes to meet you face-to-face once the night is over. This is probably where the intended "romance subplot" ends. From what you can gather, Iosefka is a kind and thoughtful woman whose a doctor first and a woman last. The Imposter Doctor is completely different. When you go back to the Clinic after finding the Ward, the Imposter Doctor comes in the same spot on the opposite side of the door where the true Iosefka would be. The change in voice is your first clue that something's off. The second clue is that she never mentions you meeting her the 4th time, almost as if she doesn't know who you are. She then tells you that the clinic is safe for any survivors you happen to come across. The true Iosefka would never let more people in unless she was sure she could cure them, or that her clinic wasn't full on the other side. If you go to the clinic through the secret passage in the Forbidden Woods, [sp]Iosefka is right, but the bodies are now celestial minions on operating tables.[/sp] When you go to the spot where you woke up for the first time, there's an [sp]alien[/sp] right on the door. Killing it nets you a special item, Iosefka's blood vial, indicating that she was turned by the Imposter Doctor that's now on the upper floor. Another thing we can learn from Imposter Doctor? If you turn back after she warns you, go back to the other side of the door and she'll tell you that [sp]part of the Choir, sent by the church to experiment on people.[/sp] It's hinted that Iosefka was [sp]part of the Choir before she defected[/sp], which is why she was a target by the imposter. We'll never truly know of Iosefka's true intentions inside her clinic. Her untimely demise cost us precious backstory lore, and lost that one ray of light in the shadows of Yharnam. Took me way too long to write this up. Have a bonus pic of Iosefka thanks to a wall glitch. Doctor Love > "Doll Waifu".
It's also believed that she knows about the nightmare or has been there since you can find one of her blood vials in a chest right before you fight Mergo's Wet Nurse
It's also believed that she knows about the nightmare or has been there since you can find one of her blood vials in a chest right before you fight Mergo's Wet Nurse
ARGH! That one still messes with me. I don't think our Iosefka knows about the nightmares, but another doctor does. I still think that the Nightmare of Mensis is [sp] part of your nightmares as well as the Mensis. The only reason I can think of why it's there is because it's in your head. You're hallucinating into thinking that it's hers, but someone else's blood of similar properties.[/sp] If she does know about the nightmare realms, then hopfully we run into something of a fragment of herself in The Old Hunters since it takes place in a "Hell Realm" if you will.
So apparently European players who have platinum get a neato menu theme and I'm hella jealous because it looks real nice :( [T]http://i.imgur.com/VB2JUOy.jpg[/T]
I didn't know the Bloodborne thread was sentenced in favor of this one Here I am, waiting for the expansion's details on weapon and gimmicks to see if I have to remake my character A friend told me that in Dark Souls (or was it DS 2) they introduced a way to reassign your stats point, which would actually help a lot in Bloodborne as well
Why does the imposter [sp]get infected with a great one's umbilical cord?[/sp]

I think it was confirmed to be able to reassign your stats in 3. The DLC for Bloodborne could also introduce it too (or a patch that follows) but I'm not sure.
Twitch Plays Dark Souls just beat the game after 43 days. [t]http://puu.sh/koxWz/01f0fe3642.jpg[/t]
Why does the imposter [sp]get infected with a great one's umbilical cord?[/sp]
[sp]Her experiments were meant to study the Great Ones' reproduction means I suppose that if you visit her after slaying Rom she's successful and manages to impregnate herself[/sp]

It makes it impossible to 'refit' your character into a better skill set, or even just make your character a totally different type

That's Dark Souls 3, not Bloodborne DLC.

It probably just was there to tie into the cut romance subplot. Also the nightmare is real, none of it is a hallucination. It just doesn't work on the same logic as the real world. By thinking you need a blood vial after reaching the top of everything a real Iosefka's blood vial appears in the nightmare.[/sp]
Why does the imposter [sp]get infected with a great one's umbilical cord?[/sp]
She [sp]much like many others linked to a specific set of bloodlines, like the Vilebloods, all get infected across Yarhnam around the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if every other female of a certain age or type underwent the same process.[/sp]
Bloodborne is such a clever title

Unlike Arianna, she never gets a chance to birth her infant Great One because you killed her right before she did.[/sp] Not everyone is lucky though. [sp] The Vileblood Queen was never impregnated because of her powers and the fact that Cainhurst Castle is sooo far away from Yharnam that the plague has nothing to do with them. All those monsters and ghosts there are their own hubris.[/sp]
I just discovered today that an arbiter spirit can still defend someone's world even if they have summons with them already. I always assumed the phantoms override the blue sentinel's availability. It turned into an ugly chaotic 4 vs 1. [sp]I still won.[/sp]
Encountered a hacker I think. Level 14 in Forest of Fallen Giants and got invaded by a dude named VodkaPutin, one-shot me with a mace through my 85% physical damage resist shield.
I'm about to start Dark Souls 1, is there anything I should know before getting into it? I don't want to use magic at much as possible (except for health spells or whatever they're called) so can anyone give me any pointers for how to do that, as well as just anything that someone who has no idea about the game should know?

As for healing you'll start with healing items that refill. The healing magic isn't that great.
exhaust npc dialogue return to them often to check for new dialogue never upgrade on the raw path unless it's a crossbow (why are you using a crossbow)

Unrelated, but for you Bloodborne fans, there's a Blood Moon on tomorrow night. Get your cameras ready, sharpen your Saw Cleavers, and hide your women. The hunt is on! http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/washington-dc

If you go over 50% you start fat rolling. Also the Zweihander is the best weapon in the game. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
SOTFS wow did they fuck up the dragon shrine, people complained about enemy spam in souls but this is beyond fucked I want to grab who-ever thought this was a good idea by the neck and smash his head in

I only remember fighting like 4 or 5 of the big guys in that whole area, plus the champion at the top of the stairs. The rest of them just saluted me as I walked past.
