I wouldn't bother fighting the Brain Trusts unless you can reliably stagger them, like with a Kirkhammer. That grab move WILL kill you, and if not, the frenzy will.
funny you call them metroid heads cuz they're called Mother Brains. :v: Or is that a fan title? Wait nevermind, they're called Brain Trusts, not Mother Brains. I got confused for a moment. [editline]oh hey[/editline] Meanwhile, been digging through my old videos and found this old gem.
They're called winter lanterns. Brain trust was a fan made name.
Fuck the [sp]KOS Orphan[/sp], In therms of bullshit bosses its next to the [sp]rape horse[/sp]
Hemwick Edit: haha shit didnt see the new page
Been sticking with the hunter axe the whole game and I just found the [sp]whirligig saw.[/sp] Is that a pretty good weapon?
Been sticking with the hunter axe the whole game and I just found the [sp]whirligig saw.[/sp] Is that a pretty good weapon?
Very good.
Been sticking with the hunter axe the whole game and I just found the [sp]whirligig saw.[/sp] Is that a pretty good weapon?
It's a great weapon. My favourite strength weapon.
nightmare frontier is one of the most anti-fun areas ive ever come across in a souls game
They're called winter lanterns. Brain trust was a fan made name.
I honestly forget that's a name. It has such little relevance to anything. [editline]30th December 2015[/editline]
nightmare frontier is one of the most anti-fun areas ive ever come across in a souls game
You're gonna' love the Nightmare of Mensis. :v:
I didn't find Nightmare of Mensis very anti-fun.
I didn't find Nightmare of Mensis very anti-fun.
I didn't find the Nightmare Frontier very anti-fun either.
I found frenzy pretty anti-fun
Gonna' be working on my Strength/ Bloodtinge build for a bit. Prolly some blood gem farming, prolly some PvP. Feel free to watch for a bit. http://www.twitch.tv/nidbutt/
Can anyone tell me if my Bloodborne build is any good? I don't actually own the game or a PS4 but I wanted to make a build because it's fun and I want to check if it would be viable at all, I dont actually know anything about runes and stuff so I just did the blood vial ones. Also what's the fastest route to Cainhurst castle from the start of the game, like the order of bosses that you would need to do in order to get to it? [editline]31st December 2015[/editline] I dont even own the game and I'm trying to minmax lol

However, I'd swap those runes out for something more useful like Clockwise Metamorphosis and Clawmark.
i just hate the way the frenzy/mother brain mechanic works and constant poisoning continues to be incredibly annoying
As far as stats go, I say it's pretty good. However, I'd swap those runes out for something more useful like Clockwise Metamorphosis and Clawmark.
I dont really know anything about runes so I just went for the scrub approach before asking for advice, but thanks :v:
nightmare frontier is one of the most anti-fun areas ive ever come across in a souls game
i've never been invaded in that area for some reason, even then there's nothing wrong with it since you can only get invaded so often and the maiden is pretty easy to find
If you're navigating in the Forbidden Forest, you'll want to stick to the right hand side of the area. It will lead you to the boss eventually.
Braintrusts are always in areas where you can avoid fighting them. some guy here found out that you can approach them without getting frenzied by holding the shield up to your face. Also I recently learned that you can use the blacksky eye to wreck Amygdala. A call beyond is supposed to to be able to kill it in a few bursts but I could never get enough to hit
I find that to be false 'cuz I've tried that before and it didn't work.
I never actually tried it myself. I just avoid them but I did kill the ones that guard the gift of the messengers and the choir bell. I somehow had enough health after being grabbed and killed one then popped a vial before frenzy got to me

opinions on holy blade?
opinions on holy blade?
You can easily get the highest DPS with that weapon without as much effort compared to other weapons. It's an easy choice for new players.
really? it feels like its doing a lot less damage than my saw cleaver
really? it feels like its doing a lot less damage than my saw cleaver
When upgraded fully it scales well with both strength and skill, making it do massive damage easy.
I find that to be false 'cuz I've tried that before and it didn't work.
Which shield though? I'd imagine it'd work with Loch over Wooden.
Which shield though? I'd imagine it'd work with Loch over Wooden.
Wood since it was before TOH was even announced. I don't use shields so I never even equipped one
well my two options are nightmare frontier and forbidden woods, after an hour or two of experimentation i have decided that that was enough bloodborne for one day i managed to kill 6 bosses today which counts for something
I still don't really know how parries work. Is part of it based on damage of the firearm or is it all just about the timing?
I still don't really know how parries work. Is part of it based on damage of the firearm or is it all just about the timing?
Timing. It's the same timing as parrying with a shield.
