You know, I'd totally dig a Dark Soul game where, instead of facing hideous monsters or prime demons, I'd have to defeat angelic avatars and heaven's legion Like Bayonetta's enemies and bosses, for reference [t]http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/bayonetta-temperantia-enemy-artwork.jpg[/t][t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/bayonetta/images/b/b1/Fortitudo.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110524233159[/t][t]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/bayonetta/images/d/d1/Sapentia.png/revision/latest?cb=20141011043438[/t]
I don't know. I always felt that the design of those enemies fit a hack-and-slash game like Bayonetta way better than a Souls series game.
Heyo! I picked up Bloodborne last night, and am starting it soon. If anyone wants to play sometime can add me, or I add them. The last Souls game I full on played was Dark Souls, and that multiplayer worked weird to me. I am unsure if it is any different. On the topic of boss design, I agree that designs like those would look good in a Souls game. With some nice work they could make really fitting bosses like those. To me those already feel like they would be in, if I hadn't played Bayonetta and knew any better. Haha.
they just dont fit in with dark souls medieval design imo
I just think it could work. It isn't just pure medieval. It uses the gothic design of that era, and the lore to go with it. Demons, gargoyles, dragons, so on and so forth. A giant crazy beast with angel wings, and nine heads, is pretty Dark Souls if you do it right. Haha.
they just dont fit in with dark souls medieval design imo
Well, personally the whole "medieval hero fighting the legions of hell" a la Berserker trope has been bothering me to death for quite some time and is the chief reason I'm not playing both Dark Souls games Fight me now.
if youre not playing dark souls because of the artstyle then youre just ruining a fantastic experience for yourself
why not just play bayonetta then lol
holy shit [sp]the one reborn[/sp] is absolutely disgusting
Bloodborne won Game of the Year over at Gametrailers.
That's great, BB is definitely my number 1 followed by Witcher 3 (only the combat slightly lets witcher down, it's ever so slightly clunky) MGSV, Battlefront and Fallout 4 were all disappointing to me to differing degrees. Bloodborne was just so extremely novel, it's caused my interest in eldritch type stuff to skyrocket for one thing, but it just feels like a game that became an instant classic and a genre definer as soon as it released
Yeah as much as I enjoyed TW3 and MGSV, BB is the only game I went back to replay and I'm still playing
tips for killing [sp]ebritias? this thing is the only boss i've fought since Amygdala that i havent killed in one life[/sp]
Running an Estoc dex build to play with my newbie friends, but god damn every boss fight is such an unbearable chore I think I might as well just trash it
tips for killing [sp]ebritias? this thing is the only boss i've fought since Amygdala that i havent killed in one life[/sp]
[sp]Bait its head slam, don't get clipped by one atom of its tentacles when it charges, don't stop running when it's firing arcane lasers, stay mobile the rest of the time and at medium distance Bladed weapons ruin its day[/sp]
holy shit [sp]the one reborn[/sp] is absolutely disgusting
Maybe I'm a nightmare feticist, but I found him more intriguing than anything
why not just play bayonetta then lol
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Anor Londo from Dark Souls a bright and majestic "City of the Gods" populated by knights in golden armors and ending with a dual boss on the same note?
if youre not playing dark souls because of the artstyle then youre just ruining a fantastic experience for yourself
I have the Prepare to die edition in my Steam library. DON'T TEASE ME.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Anor Londo from Dark Souls a bright and majestic "City of the Gods" populated by knights in golden armors and ending with a dual boss on the same note?
I'm not seeing the connection
just because they have somewhat holy themes doesn't make them similar in any sense bayonetta and dark souls are two completely different sections of fantasy, i dont see the point youre trying to prove
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Anor Londo from Dark Souls a bright and majestic "City of the Gods" populated by knights in golden armors and ending with a dual boss on the same note?
Not when you get there, grime has built up between the bricks, portraits are faded and frayed, the brass firekeeper and the giant blacksmith straight up say that everybody but the most dutiful guards are gone. It's a theme to every FROM game, a land far past its prime and you just happen to show up at the end of the age.
Been playing Bloodborne for a little bit now, and it is very fun. It keeps my on my toes. Haha. Haven't encountered any of the first bosses yet though. I have been too busy exploring, and experimenting. I've seen playthroughs that use a lot of the same builds, so I am going with something I haven't seen much of.
tips for killing [sp]ebritias? this thing is the only boss i've fought since Amygdala that i havent killed in one life[/sp]
If you want deal bonus damage, hit her with bolt, fire, or serrated. Head shots to deal bonus damage but don't get too caught up with only hitting her head. Start the fight off with a sneak attack. Unlocking the camera will help for you to deal with her bullshit charge attack and with camera getting in the way if you have her head targetted and she goes for head slams
I always just attacked her from behind, many of her attacks can't reach you back there. Also, locking on will get you killed, don't do it.
I haven't touched Dark Souls 2 in a year and a half or so and just recently got it gifted to me on steam, was thinking of making a faith build but I faintly recall some nerf happening to faith based abilities? Reading around some people say that faith builds are dead but others say it's still viable, anyone have any opinions or context to add? If it really is dead, I don't want to spend hours on something not worth the effort
Faith damage got pretty nerfed as well its number of uses, it has some "good" uses depending on how you want to approach the build. At start, faith is extremely underwhelming if not for owning the mace that is, later in game you get buff spells and stronger offensive tools. You don't want to rely on lightning spears, that's it :v:
I'm still bumbling my way through my first playthrough of DS1, but since DS2:SOTFS is on sale for 62% off on Steam right now, should I get it?

I do think it'd be neat if you had to fight some holy themed Paladin looking dude if you sin too much/do bad edgelord Dark things in DS3. Guys just pops up somewhere and destroys your shit for being evil.

Boy you just can't escape Undertale anywhere can you.
Boy you just can't escape Undertale anywhere can you.
It's a wonder why people don't like it and find it obnoxious.
Only if the opposite happens as well. Some evil necro-dude comes in and fucks your shit up because you're a goody two-shoes.
Isn't that the entire game? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but are we gonna be forced to be evil in DS3? We're killing Heirs of Fire, we're hunting down/helping out Hosts of Embers... is our guy ultimately trying to fuck shit up? I wanna be good sacrificial man that links fire and isn't afraid of anything.
