Viceral'd pigs will land you 20-22k echoes, took me probably 20 minutes if that to farm 500k.

is the context as horrifying as it appears to be
Isn't that the entire game? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but are we gonna be forced to be evil in DS3? We're killing Heirs of Fire, we're hunting down/helping out Hosts of Embers... is our guy ultimately trying to fuck shit up? I wanna be good sacrificial man that links fire and isn't afraid of anything.
Right, first off light isn't good and dark isn't bad they're just opposite sides of the same thing. If you get your lore tips from VaatiVidya you need to stop, he's gone off the rails and started just making up lore ages ago. Second, [sp]you're putting down Lords of Cinder who previously linked the flame, you are also a Lord of Cinder. If the Pilgrims of Dark in DS2 are even close to being right then having too much of either is a bad thing. The entire humanity mechanic has been replaced with Embers, you can no longer go hollow instead you lose your Ember, when you have an ember you gain a 40% health bonus.[/sp]
Does [sp]Orphan of Kos[/sp] have a shitload of health or resistance? I have a maxed out whirligig saw with 40 strength and I'm barely putting a dent in the healthbar. Took like 15 minutes to get it down to 25% before I died.
i love how everything about bloodborne made you think it was primarily about hunting beasts and shit and then it goes complete h.p. lovecraft this game is so good honestly

This is a japanese game so it's obviously gonna have some ying & yang, light & dark and ultimate balance themes going on. What I gather is that the light/the fire causes souls to flourish, but the payoff is that it'll eventually & absolutely will go out, causing the curse, which is born of the darkness that grows in place of the light's absence, right? So this dark is obviously pretty shitty because it curses people. Too much of this same darkness and you go from just being cursed to full-on Oolacile madness. I actually don't know what adverse effect too much light has though, and the only time I've seen the dark be good is when you're buffing your weapons or killing people with it. but yeah I guess I understand now. Basically we're killing other [sp]Lords of Cinder[/sp] to become an even greater [sp]Lord of Cinder[/sp] ourselves for some yet-to-be-revealed purpose, right?
Dark isn't bad, the curse of Dark is the curse of life. Before acquiring their souls the living creatures were born in the Dark. Dark areas are also the most peaceful, there are fewer enemies to be found there and fewer hazards, though the enemies you do face tend to be quite strong. It should be noted that there are parallels in light and dark in most things: Light is linked to fire, which is both dangerous and useful. Dark is often described as being a comforting warmth, but Dark things tend to hurt you when you touch them. Both are things to be desired which can not be touched. Souls and Humanity both make your character stronger. Souls allow a character to become more powerful in their chosen stats while Humanity increases you defence in general and makes you find things more easily. It should also be noted that Human Effigies are an artificial stand in for Humanity do not empower your character but just restore that which has been lost. Light and Dark are also represented in magic. Sorcery is the use of the power of souls while Hexes are the use of the power of Dark, and Pyromancy has a number of Dark spells which are quite a bit more powerful than normal. Miracles are the only magic that isn't represented by Dark, which makes sense as they rely on calling upon the power of the Gods who have no connection to Dark. Also the only way to strengthen a bonfire, a fire made using the bones of the undead, is to feed it Humanity or the ashes of an undead. You have to give Dark to fuel Light. The reason most Dark things hurt you is the games have a running theme that Humanity is inherently harmful to itself, and seeing as Dark and Humanity are the same thing it only makes sense for Dark things to hurt you. Most things associated with light hurts you too, fire, lightning, the servants of the Gods. Dark just has very few ways of healing you while light is all over the healing and the buffs.

For some reason I really never did think of sorceries, lightning, etc to actually be aligned with the light side of things despite it being so fucking obvious. I mean, Dark damage is literally Dark damage. Still, the only way to truly mantain balance would be to essentially restore the Gray fog from pre-DS1, the gray color also being a mix of both white and black! Could that be how DS3 ends/one of the endings?

(DS2) Dark is quite a downer. You got dragons terrorizing you all over the earth, doesn't sound peaceful at all, more like stagnant. People doesn't seems to be happy in the dark. Everybody became mindless zombies for eternity. Age of fire is like, party all day every day. Gwyn is also a nice guy, sacrificing himself for the country. Sure there are a few deviant, but only the minority. Also I'll take Gwynevere over Nashandra any day.
the ambiguity has been nice these past five years but I hope 3 is clear about at least some things for the sake of closure

When Fire came, everyone that lived in caves got fed up and wrecked the Dragons shit. They lived lives that weren't rightfully theirs in an age of fire, building cities above ground and establishing culture. But being Hollow zombies is the natural state of all life that isn't Dragons, so when Darkness says "oit stop mucking about and get back in your cave", we clung to the light and our newfound humanity and feared the dark, even though we should return to it. I read Dark Souls as a whole against a "Rage against the dying of the light" scenario.

Heat, but also cold; life, but also death; and of course, light, but also dark. The age of ancients was void of both light and dark; all was perfectly neutral- THAT is stagnation. If anything, maybe Dark Souls 3 could be about "raging against the dying light (and dark too)". Personally I looked at the light vs. dark as a order vs. chaos scenario, or logic vs. emotions. Neither side is intrinsically good or bad, but both represent dynamic change over time.
Havent played bloodborne since the release and im going to start again to prepare a character for the dlc. I want to use the blades of mercy and the chikage since i usually play strength chars in fromsoft games and want to make a dex guy. what level should i stop at , 100? if so what stats should i aim for, is it a bad idea to go dex and bloodtinge or should i just stick to dex. also wana get 15 in arcane for the old hunter bone for fun
