yeah they totally removed the graphics 1 day before release just to spite you and not because of the gutted development and shitty console hardware
so uh
I tested parry and riposte with a shield + ultra greatsword
it's apparently very possible to riposte after 2handing the sword (I didn't think it would let you). It will use the same animation as if you were 1-handing the sword, but damage will scale accordingly

So, I was doing an Arcane/little Str build and was super excited to get the Longarius' Wheel to be a muscle mage except... the damage is absolutely pitiful. I found out that Arcane only really plays a part when you transform the weapon and rev it up a bunch because otherwise it scales HARD with Strength.
Well, good thing I decided to do a quality build next and now LOVE the Beasthunter's Saif. It's got both great range, quick dashing attacks and amazing ways to engage/disengage.
Next up is a Bloodtinge/Skill build

You don't seem to know what happened...
PC Release: After all the pre-orders, 1 day before release, without previous warnings, they just removed the graphics. And i bet it was just to release on this expensive bullshit SOTFS version.
You have no idea how mad I was and still am. He only hit me because his upward swipe continues all the way into his back

On top of that bullshit, he hit me twice with the same lightning strike.

I got him down to the N in Oprhan 3 times before finally killing him.
Easily the boss that gave me the most trouble in the game.

Any weapon that deals split damage; even if the split is with arcane, will be shit for an arcane build. If you're going arcane you want to find a straight physical weapon like Ludwig's and slot in an elemental gem like fire or bolt.
Sif was such a huge pain in the ass to fight, constantly leaping, and sometimes 2 shotting me in what seemed an unavoidable combo

Stay under him.
Does anyone else kinda like the invasion change in DS3, being that you can only invade when your host is actively running around with a phantom?
Before you kill my dick off, I think it's great because now there's an actual risk to invading. When you invaded, you were pretty much at no risk at all. You show up and the only disadvantage you have is that you can't Estus, all the other odds are on your side.
You die during the invasion? No biggie, you just lost like a minute of your time at best, one Cracked/nothing at all if you're full orbing in DS1. Maybe you got indicted, or maybe you got one point of sin, which is of absolutely no consequence at all due to the almost completely deserted Sentinel/Blade covenants.
The host dies though? Back to the bonfire with them. Entire zone is reset. They've lost their humanity/effigy/ember and dropped a bloodstain.
There's practically no risk involved with invading and that no-consequence BS in a game entirely based around death and the penalties surrounding it is pretty trash. The least you could do to alleviate this and make it worth it is to make that invader have to fight through a phantom to get to you.

They did that to NETWORK TEST. You know, what the test was for? I highly highly doubt that's how it's actually going to be.

What I'm trying to say is that I'd be okay with it going past the NETWORK TEST. Because, you know, IMO it was a pretty okay change.
Not to mention that's how it is in Bloodborne, right? They're taking away a lot from that game, and this being one of those things seems like a pretty reasonable thing to me.
Edit: without the bell maidens and all that, ofc. The equivalent of the bell maiden would be your co-op partner showing up, which then enables bad dudes to show up

Not a huge fan of that, and i never really invade people, but i also never summon help , so i dont think im going to see a single invader in ds3. I would much prefer it if you dont drop your souls when killed by an invader.

Not to me and not to a lot of other players. 1vX isn't fun, it's just a gank squad and you can't do anything about it. If they leave it as it was in the network test a lot of people are going to ignore the whole pvp aspect entirely.

I'd go so far as to say the Bell Maiden system killed PvP entirely.

There's still red signs and arenas available, it's not like by tweaking invasions you suddenly remove PvP. In DS2 specially red signs and arena-based PvP is very popular. Go to Iron Keep even before you hit that 150SL SM range and you'll find tons of dragon signs and such.
Today I've tried to take on Blighttown
I managed to reach the bonfire on the bridge in what I can assume (hope) is the middle of the area
My progress however didn't go any further because once I reach the descent to the swamp area (where the huge fire breathing bugs start to appear) all bets are off: I can't seem to find my way across the huge swamp, enemies are starting to PHISICALLY BLOCK MY PASSAGE through the hallways and I'm running out of moss to afford my aimless exploration
Of course this would be a great time to use the bonfire to go back to the shrine and replenish my stock, but of course this game just had to have that Metroidvania world design that makes all the gamers in the world have a boner and ANNOY ME OUT OF MY FUCKING MIND instead
So now I'm playing AotA for the first time, and after having oneshot several bosses in the vanilla game and beaten O&S on my second attempt (probably would have done it the first time if Solaire actually followed me through the fog gate), already on the first boss of the DLC it took me many attempts before I beat it.
Now I'm fighting Artorias and I have to say, so far these two bosses are some of the most fun and challenging fights in the game imo
So glad I finally got around to getting the DLC
artorias is the best boss in the entire series
not the hardest, but IMO the most fun/interesting

I think we can reasonably expect things like the dragon covenant, though. Forced 1v1 PVP. So really, you can have it both ways.
I beat OoK. It was fucking glorious because I didn't even get to use bolt paper.
I got the blood rock(really easy compared to main game) but where is the milkweed rune? I haven't really explored the cave with the 2 brain trusts and I avoid the giant sharkmen. I want to go slay the shadow just to get the completion but I need to help other players with the bosses there

It's at the end of a side quest in the Research Hall.
Do you think the Church Doctors/Servants inside Cathedral Ward have eyes with black sclerae or are missing their eyes altogether and display empty eye sockets?

He was the hardest for me. I had more trouble beating him than I did with Manus.
That being said when I beat Artorias is was fucking fantastic.

I hope DS3 will have some barbering and other character tweaking options mid-game.
