the only true fashion is to wear no clothes
with the boar helm
with the [del]boar[/del]Catarina Helm
Hmm? Oh ho! What's this? A wrong opinion?
Worry not, my friend! I have fixed your little mistake, and replaced it with a much better one!
Dammit everything to hell. After killing the spider and used the second bell and decided to talk with the lady on the swamp but before I could do that I accidentally hit her while fighting some enemies and she went hostile on me, the worst part is she got killed by the enemies.
Rest in peace Quelaana of Izalith. Your Fire Tempest will be keep safely with me.
Edit: I also got some fancy clothes, now I can run around in bare feet and feel protected at the same time.

This counts as fashion, right?
What is fashion and how do I do that?
But yeah, right now I'm still using the chain set I got from the trader you find on your way to the Taurus Demon and the Gargoyle Helm I got from the Bell Gargoyles fight. I recently switched my Bastard Sword for Iaito which so far works well. Also Spider Shield just because it's a good option in Blighttown.
Did you make sure to kill the merchant?
I've been stuck on the Bell Gargoyles for a couple hours now, literally nothing I do works and I ran out of humanity so Soltaire hasn't been able to help me for 15 tries now. I'm close to giving up on the game because I seriously can't figure out how to even come close to beating them. Any tips

I'm using the battle axe +2 but it just chips away like 5% of their health

Upgrade your weapon, use the white soapstone to get extra humanity.
get that axe to +5, apply the gold pine resin found in the undead burg, and slap those bitches in like 5 hits

Don't you need a master key to get the resin though? Also I don't have any way to fast travel yet and I don't want to backtrack that far, unless I really get desperate
purchase the residence key from the merchant

I'd say this counts as desperate!
Also: have you kindled the undead parish bonfire to give you 10 estus?
Did you make sure to kill the merchant?
So far I didn't killed any trader. Why?

Kindle the flame to get 10 estus, don't be afraid to run away. What's your equip load? Are you fat-rolling? Are you rolling at the right times (Just before getting hit essentially. Don't roll before they swing)? Did you take out the tail? What shield? What armor? What level are you?
I'd say this counts as desperate!

This is true
And yeah I'm using 10 estus, but I'm struggling to figure out when's the right time to use them because once the second gargoyle jumps in, I feel like there's no time to do anything except block and run away from fire.

I'm fat rolling but the only armor I have is the starting knight armor and garbage hollow armor, so I don't think I should take it off until I can find something lighter to actually start rolling effectively.

Fat rolling is probably your issue. Not moving fast enough. Remove the helmet or gloves to lower your weight. The decreased defense doesn't make that much of a difference.
If you really need to, grind the hollows in the parish for a little bit so you can afford to upgrade your weapon to +5 and one or two pieces of armour to +3.
The full knight set without upgrades provides 90 physical defence at 25 weight.
Knight Armour +3 and Knight Leggings +3 provide 76.7 physical defence at 17.3 weight.
Knight Armour +3 and Knight Gauntlets +3 provide 70.2 physical defence at 14.4 weight.
Knight Leggings +3 and Knight Gauntlets +3 provide 50.7 physical defence at 9.9 weight.
And for god's sake take off your helmet, it's very heavy and provides little protection.
In this game your equipment is FAR more important than your stats. I beat the game without levelling up and without resorting to pyromancy by just upgrading my gear. That's not to say you shouldn't level, just that if it's a choice between more points into HP or upgrading your armour I'd upgrade the armour.
[editline]30th September 2015[/editline]
Also I highly recommend you are mid rolling or better and that you learn to dodge early. Having good armour is great, but the best protection is not getting hit in the first place.
The best defense is a good rollfense.
Is there a weapon in DS2 with a similar moveset to the DS1 halberd?
I loved that little guy, but the moveset in DS2 is completely different and I don't like it any more.

There's an elevator to the left of the stairs to the second floor of the church that takes you to Firelink. It's a two minute sprint from there to the merchant.

Drake sword
Whats a fun unique weapon to use in DKS II im bored of great and ultra great swords and have abused katanas. Trying a bow focused build atm but need a melee weapon to go with it.

Twinblades can be fun with their unique movesets, but maybe wear like 12 Bracing Knuckle Rings. Also, the Helix Halberd is pretty sweet, and maybe some of the more esoteric pole weapons.
Drake sword
Don't do this.
the drake sword is a noob trap, you're better of upgrading that battle axe to +5

I don't know but this somehow gives me a mmorpg character vibe.

Drake sword is superb. It has great strength for little requirement that you need.
It even have 2 handed long range wave attack. If properly used you can even kil a black knight wih it.
Not to mention its free.
As a noob I highly recommend it
Only to die horribly later on
Lern 2 roll.
I started a few days ago playing a fashion-soul's character.
Rolling around with a Scimitar, parrying-dagger and pyromancy-hand.
Because fuck shields: this is a way to feel alive.
And I've only died twice. Once to general carelessness and the other time to a Twink-build in Undead Parish, who wielded a lightning-infused Falchion :frown:.
And a PvE twink ruined the Bell Gargoyles for me :frown:
Not that I'm ungrateful, but I wanted to best them by dancing around with my scimitar, not by having an Elite-Knight kill the Gargoyle's with four hits per each.
I assume that he'd might have been there hunting Twink-invaders.
because if you wear armor you'll die peacefully in your sleep in souls, right?
[editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
wrong, armor is a weakness, it only slows your abs down from blinding the enemy
a true souls player knows that the pecs of a god will deflect enemy strikes
I'm working on a texture mod to improve Fashion Soul's (althou).
Perhaps I'll finish it entirely today and upload it.
Don't know what to call it though.
Leaner Undead? Abs Soul's? Or perhaps that Dark Soul's /fit/-Edition :v:
Which reminds me that I still haven't done the voice acting peace on Fuark Soul's as I promised long ago.

Stop. The Drake Sword is garbage, it'll last you pretty much to the church and not past it, you're infinitely better off upgrading a regular weapon.

Trust me, I'm the chosen undead.
I use drake sword while being cursed (damn those farting frogs) and still manage to beat Quelaag singlehandedly (or maybe 2-handedly)

They're basilisks.
I wonder:
Is it perhaps a mineral that forms upon cursing/petrifying.
