Man, [sp]Gerhman[/sp] is wrecking my sorry arse. I can handle his Scythe but not his alt-form, I just have to wait that one out until he swaps back. I think the real problem I have is that his telegraphs mess with me. His massive wind-ups are easily dodged, even though he stalls them out sometimes. But it's his little attacks that're hard to see coming, they hit me for three quarters of my health. I just want to crush his head with my Kirkhammer! Also, I've never done NG+ in any Souls game, but I know it makes the enemies tougher. Do I keep my stats and play the same character, or can I build someone new? I kinda want to play a Skill/Bloodtinge build and hopefully get the Chikage or Eileens two blades, but if my character carries over then everything will be ridiculously expensive to level up?

I always thought the material gathering was the hardest part.
The game gives plenty of titanite to get a weapon to +10 by the time you reach anor londo. I can only imagine not having enough if you just refuse to pick items up.

Slabs you can only get 3 per playthrough
You can farm slabs but it takes luck, better than nothing though
You can farm slabs but it takes luck, better than nothing though
Aren't they super rare to get, even with max item discovery? I think the darkwraiths might drop them

At this point he's probably cruising on the bleed damage offered by the uchi. Relating to elias' post though: The snake men are resistant to slash damage, which is what the uchi and the scimitar deal.

This ain't a dream, and you ain't a Great One no more. Prepare to die. Lore: [sp]Steel thyselves o little one. Make thy way back to Andre the village blacksmith.[/sp]
That mocking tho. Tempted to bequeath thy post a box
Did you really expect an invader of all things to show etiquette? [editline]15th January 2016[/editline]
Is a bloodtinge build viable for pve or is it mostly for pvp?
I've seen people stack everything into bloodtinge as early as possible, run to the Hunter's Workshop and pick up the Radiant Sword Hunter Badge, and then blow all their cash on Bone Marrow Ash. It turns the rest of the early game into a literal walk in the park.
There is this small issue of me dying now and then That and apparently I lack the materials [editline]Today[/editline] No, it's totally the lack of materials
Just farm souls and buy them?
Tried to play the DLC after having bought it. Turns out that Amazon.co.uk shipped me an American copy of Bloodborne, and my EU account can't play it but they'll take my money all the same. Fucking region locking.
Once you embrace farming, getting materials isn't to bad. Near the end of Anor Londo I had a +15 greatsword
Anor Londo is far easier than I thought because, if I can claim I'm good at something at this game, is to parry the Silver Knights mercilessly and backstab them every chance I get Is there any way to get some humanity somewhere in Anor Lond? I'm at Ornestein and Smough and I could REALLY use Solaire's help
I know you can sometimes get soft humanity from killing enemies with the area boss still alive but I don't know if silver knights and giants and demons count for giving that so if not you'll just have to open enough shortcuts to allow you to run back to the start of anor londo and fly back down to lordran to find humanity

Those giant rats usually drop humanity on a regular basis.
Get some humanity and gear that grants you increased item discovery, then go to the sewers where you fought the gaping dragons. Those giant rats usually drop humanity on a regular basis.
To expand upon this, there are two items that greatly increase Item Discovery. The Covetous Gold Serpent Ring from Sen's Fortress (in the winding stairway with all the rolly boulders) and the Symbol of Avarice, randomly dropped by any Mimics. The bonuses from these items do not stack. The Item Discovery boost from having Humanity only goes up to 10. Any after that, and you only get the defense bonus.

Just get the asian version Bloodborne the Old Hunter Edition. Its all in there.

Just to clarify, my Uchigatana does 38 damage per it to One-Winged Angel Ornestein Time to farm for titanite shards, perhaps?
Upgrading your gear is actually more important than leveling up your character, especially your weapon.
Just to clarify, my Uchigatana does 38 damage per it to One-Winged Angel Ornestein Time to farm for titanite shards, perhaps?
it was time to farm before you got to sen's funhouse tbh
Went out and bought Demon's Souls today. I've heard it's not quite as bad as Dark Souls in terms of raw difficulty.
If you reach an area where you can already get large titanite shards, you know your gear is supposed to be well levelled up.
it was time to farm before you got to sen's funhouse tbh
And yet here I am, ready to defeat Smough and Ornestein Who's the n00b now, uhm? UHM?
Time to farm for titanite shards, perhaps?
Just go buy 'em. They're relatively cheap.
I'm thinking of replaying DS2 with a build I've never tried. Are there any spears that are actually decent? Or other two handed weapons you can get early on and keep most of the game?
Hmm... what happened to the Firelink's Fire Keeper... I don't remember harming her but she died... I'm kinda sad. Tho I talked to Clacking Teeth McSnakehead. It's such a weird design, almost goofy.
