Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

So apparently the Prestige Edition of Dark Souls III sold out within 2 hours of the pre-order going live on Amazon? Isn't that the $800 version? I'm surprised there are Souls fans with that kind of money to spend.
What the hell man. People can summon me in like 30-40 seconds, yet I don't find anyone who I can summon to beat a boss. I have to almost every boss alone, yet people can summon me without problems.

Not surprised. If you can find people creating fan armor, statues etc, queues to try dark souls 3 that takes half day then you'd expect people that will pay that amount of money.
And plus the contests too
It's a good game, if I had 800 bucks I'd pay for it. We just got a guarantee with DS2 that even the worst Souls game will still be fun to play, so it's nothing but uphill from here.
For fuck's sake, killing Smough before Ornstein is a chore in itself
Smough is so fucking fat I can never see Ornstein's attacks coming (not mentioning the latter always attempting to score a cheap shot at you the moment you enter the fog into the boss area)
Does anyone know a really good power stance (dual wield) greatsword weapon? With a specialiced powerstance moveset like the normal Warped Sword?

The statue looks fucking wicked though, so no surprise here.
Also, people who buy those editions just go to sell them for a higher price on ebay.

Only one I can think of is the Curved Nil Greatsword, but that's mid-to-super-late game, and it's a curved greatsword, not sure if that's what you're looking for. But its powerstance strong move is a spinning attack like the warped sword.
[editline]edit[/editline]
Also it's one of the DLC weapons, Ivory King to be exact
I've read that Curved Greatswords can indeed powerstance with regular greatswords, but the moveset will be considerably slower compared to other compatible powerstanced movesets.

If you needed help or something, I could help. Which game are you referring to?
I picked Dark Souls 2 up again
jesus christ whenever I'm fighting a mob there's another guy ready to stunlock me from behind. This is rage inducing, not "difficult"

I just tested it out with my quality build. It'll work with other ultra greatswords, and even normal greatswords! But the powerstance move will always take the curved greatsword moveset, which could lead to a relatively tiny greatsword being swung around slowly as if it weighed two tons :v:

Hit them before they do. :v:

Don't get hit

Sure thing, I can handle hollows and a pack of dogs rushing at me from all directions
What annoys me is that I'm not even speedrunning through the level

Thanks! I came across a majestic greatsword which looks incredible as well.
Which has a more active multiplayer, ds2 or sotfs?

SotFS, by far.

I feel like this is the one time where this wouldn't be a dickhead comment because in DS2 you seriously do not take any risks or leave any loose ends at all because of how ridiculous shit gets sometimes.
Move at the pace of a dead snail, carry maxed out bows, poison arrows, Alluring Skulls, etc and it's easy peasy, but if you don't maximize your chances every way you can you're likely to get destroyed.
also co-op. The game is unfair to the point it cancels out summons being easier and it mostly makes the game playable, not to mention you're always gonna get invaded so there's no real penalty to going human. This doesn't apply to bosses since I feel like those are always pretty balanced, but that's the tradeoff I guess.
Wait, let me get this straight: in Dark Souls 2 being hollow doesn't prevent other players to invade you, but being hollow still forbids you to summon other players for help?
Are you fucking serious?

Burn an effigy if you don't like invasions, or go offline. Problem solved.

the whole point of dark souls is that it's a cross-dimensional free-for-all between potential heroes trying to retain their humanity by stealing it from others
Don't get we wrong, I welcome some PvP from time to time, but what exactly is the reason behind that design choice? Forcing players to do more PvP? Add another layer of challenge? Being absolute ASSHOLES?

Suck it up, man. We all had to go through it.

you can still be invaded but hollows are the lowest priority for invaders. from most likely to least it goes
players in invasion-based covenants --> humans --> hollows
so unless there's almost nobody else online it mostly just means you can't bypass NPC invaders. and considering you get your humanity back by beating the boss as a summon i think it's actually a bit less punishing than DS1's PvP.

Well yeah, the whole point of these souls game is being an asshole. You can just offline.
I'm surprised you haven't realised from some area design choice as well. I mean filled with trap, mob ambushing etc.

You get Humanity for beating a boss in DS1, too. The only difference is that you get soft Humanity instead of an instant Reverse Hollowing.

weren't you the one complaining about how dark souls is all artificial difficulty lol
So I got bloodborne today. Never played any souls games outside of a few hours of demons souls at a friends house years back.
I have next to no idea what I'm doing lol.
that's basically intended, you get infinitely better at the game as time goes on
just keep trying shit and don't be afraid to die, its part of the process
Yeah I've already gotten my shit kicked in a few times on the first town area. But I'm quickly figuring out how to fight things.
My favorite moment so far is dying to the huge dude with the axe 2 or 3 times, luring him out to a more open space, killing him, then finding out there was nothing at all in that little alleyway he was patrolling
EFFORTS WELL SPENT but now I know how to fight them so theres that
