thats the best way to look at it, you didn't get any items but you got seriously valuable experience
So I got bloodborne today. Never played any souls games outside of a few hours of demons souls at a friends house years back. I have next to no idea what I'm doing lol.
Playing prior Souls games isn't really necessary for Bloodborne anyways, this game plays very differently from the others.
I only played Bloodborne for the victorian setting since I couldn't get into dark souls. On my 5th playthrough now and I just realized that Amelia's pendant grows with her(what's up with that) and that the threaded cane is a very useful weapon. I've fought bloodstarved beast dozens of times and I didn't notice its fucked up face until recently. Holy shit that's terrifying
weren't you the one complaining about how dark souls is all artificial difficulty lol
Don't explain the joke
It would have to be a joke to begin with.
Don't explain the joke
Where was the punchline, what exactly was funny?
So since I'm pissed off about not being able to get the DLC with my game despite having bought it, I started a new character. Going for a Skill build and I [sp]killed Eileen god I'm an awful person[/sp], but I then found out I had to save up 40k echoes to actually buy the good stuff. So that's not going to happen for a while, I'm mucking about with the Threaded Cane and it's really fun.
git gud
Yeah don't get all butthurt because we've pretty much told you the same about DS1 there, son DS2 is nothing like the prequel. Its difficulty comes from retarded bumrushes, there's aren't many fun or difficult (in a fair way) fights Hell half the thread complains about being swarmed in other sections of the games, at one point there's only so much you can do
Honestly, I feel like people do tend to exaggerate those bumrush moments and often just get whiny because it's popular to dislike Dark Souls 2 and still play hundreds of hours.
Honestly, I feel like people do tend to exaggerate those bumrush moments and often just get whiny because it's popular to dislike Dark Souls 2 and still play hundreds of hours.
It seems to have the somewhat more balanced PvP so that's probably why people stick around
It seems to have the somewhat more balanced PvP so that's probably why people stick around
I do agree that Sotfs is probably the best online experience in the entire souls franchise. But I still like the game though, it gets a lot of flak but it is still a marvelous game.
i actually did prefer dark souls 2's pvp over 1's
Honestly, I feel like people do tend to exaggerate those bumrush moments and often just get whiny because it's popular to dislike Dark Souls 2 and still play hundreds of hours.
Tbh most of us just play it to test builds and do PvP, i only go through the main game because i have to. Speaking of which, i should do a build to see how much i can break the powerstanced axe moveset, if that thing still works.
DS2 wins on longevity, that's also why.
DS1's PvP was full of nothing but dead-angling and backstab exploits. Eventually you get used to it and learn ways to avoid them, but it was still an insufferable experience. DS2 thankfully never has any of those problems, or at least not to the extremes that DS1 had.
it also honestly felt like it had more weapon diversity when it came to PvP weapons
it also honestly felt like it had more weapon diversity when it came to PvP weapons
I think it's a bit of a mix. DS1 had more unique weapons and movesets, DS2 has more weapons that are actually viable for PvP.
I just wish that players in pvp would sometimes resort to more simple builds that have a certain style instead of the most effective builds and such. Rarely I have fights with regular players where we both have normal gear and weapons that are not overpowered. I liked fat roll fights in Dark Souls 1 quite a bit.
I decided to bring my wanderer's chest piece to +9 and I immediately felt the results, getting One-W ... second phase Ornstein to below half health Truth be told, powered up Ornstein is easy: it's getting there that's really impossible for a solo melee character
You're upgrading your armor?
impossible for a solo melee character
not if you have any +10 weapon lol
why not? it's not a bad idea
It is a bad idea when your weapon is as powerful as a bb gun. [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] Which I guess I don't know if his uchi is still just +3 or not.
yeah upgrading your armor is a waste of resources until way later in the game when you have fully upgraded weapons, you've nailed down exactly what you want to wear, and have the spare souls to spend on titanite for all four pieces
I've upgraded both to +5 and can only assume the giant smith can't bring them past that Say what you want, but upgrading the wanderer's coat that far grants me a light piece of armor which provides some nice defense stats and prooves to be invaluable in surviving Ornstein's Jedi-like charges, among other things
the ember that allows you to get to +10 is in an area you may have already explored, at the very least its gonna be open for you
If you go back to Andre you can get your weapon to +10, although if you've done that to your armor you probably don't have any large titanite shards left.

Still waiting for your playstation plus.
no, it just has lag to compensate for the lack of exploits.
hah, pretty much I really like DS1 PvP for the most part, but things such as DWGR's i-frames, Hornet Ring and lagstabs ruin it for me Deadangling also renders some equipment (e.g. Shotel) pretty much redundant DS2 has seemingly improved the very worst parts of 1, but then botched others (like poise being completely useless)
