Still waiting for your playstation plus.
Playing Dark Souls AND Bloodborne at the same time will certainly do a serious number on my usual sunny disposition
DS2 has seemingly improved the very worst parts of 1, but then botched others (like poise being completely useless)
Not to mention that soul memory basically meant that you'd either have to sacrifice a ring slot for the Agape Ring, or suck it up and accept that you'll eventually be fighting nothing but level 700 hex builds
Not to mention that soul memory basically meant that you'd either have to sacrifice a ring slot for the Agape Ring, or suck it up and accept that you'll eventually be fighting nothing but level 700 hex builds
is that related to the first or the second part of my post because personally I think SM really doesn't do much good against twinks
To be honest my best PvP experiences have been in DS2. From backstabbing a rat dickhead and running past all of his stupid rat garbage to actually having decent 1v1 fights that don't consist almost entirely of two people glitching into eachother and lagstabbing repeatedy, it's all been decently fun. Those very rare moments when covenants work and you help other people out as a Blue Sentinel vs. twinking dickheads in Heide's are also really fun. Even when the twinkiest dude shows up in DS2 I still have a decent chance. It sucks that poise was gutted and that SM is pretty much de facto punishing you for playing the game, but it's still way more fun than DS1 PvP, atleast for me.
getting there that's really impossible for a solo melee character
Not really. Upgrade your weapon, and keep close enough to Smough that Ornstein can't hit you.
My best PvP moment was when playing my muscleman run. Had the upgraded Bandit Axe. The fight was over in 4 moves; He attacked with a greatsword, I rolled around, rolling attack into backstab.
i never did record any of my Lord Lift pvp... shit
Anyone willing to help me with getting the Rakuyo? I'm having a death struggle on NG+
Not really. Upgrade your weapon, and keep close enough to Smough that Ornstein can't hit you.
My issue is that I follow this advice to heart, but Ornstein always manage to hit me THROUGH his comrade like he was some kind of ghost whenever he's behind him Smough being so big also means I have no way to predict Ornstein's attacks if he's in that position When he's not, I can never see I'm charging at me from behind, and when I drop my attention from Smough to see where the hell Ornstein is, Smough gets me There are literally no openings and my success rate is about how many times I can get Ornstein "stuck" around a pillar for some precious seconds or how far can I get him away from Smough (again, only for some seconds, because he'll immediately charge at me like a train)
if you aren't going into that fight already assuming that ornstein will be flying right towards you the second he isn't on your screen you're not doing it right at all
if you aren't going into that fight already assuming that ornstein will be flying right towards you the second he isn't on your screen you're not doing it right at all
Need humanity
Went at the gargoyles again with a different character, since I didn't like the direction that the first one was going in. Summoning Solaire really does make the fight a lot easier. I'm not sure whether I like that, honestly. The sense of achievement is drastically reduced.
I feel like this is the one time where this wouldn't be a dickhead comment because in DS2 you seriously do not take any risks or leave any loose ends at all because of how ridiculous shit gets sometimes. Move at the pace of a dead snail, carry maxed out bows, poison arrows, Alluring Skulls, etc and it's easy peasy, but if you don't maximize your chances every way you can you're likely to get destroyed. also co-op. The game is unfair to the point it cancels out summons being easier and it mostly makes the game playable, not to mention you're always gonna get invaded so there's no real penalty to going human. This doesn't apply to bosses since I feel like those are always pretty balanced, but that's the tradeoff I guess.
I never understood this, Dark Souls 2 is considerably easier than 1 for me. SotFS on the other hand made it harder for seemingly no reason.
i never did record any of my LORD LIFT pvp... shit
Has it really been so long that even you have forgotten how to spell his name? I remember that mustachioed pillar of ripped muscle like it was only yesterday...
I never understood this, Dark Souls 2 is considerably easier than 1 for me. SotFS on the other hand made it harder for seemingly no reason.
Because SotFS rebalance idea was "more enemies = more challenge". The only part it did well was the Dragon Shrine. But it still has an option to turn into a massive gangbang.
Recently got the Bloodborne DLC and just defeated [sp]__Maria__[/sp]. Name of the clip says it all
That was a pretty impressive attempt, actually. Every time I fight Maria I just face-tank her and kill her by stunlocking with something heavy. I think we've all been there, though. The boss does some huge attack and you have a sliver of health left. Then, when that happens, there's a 50/50 chance you won't do anything because you think you're dead, which leaves you open enough to get killed for real.
I think it's a bit of a mix. DS1 had more unique weapons and movesets, DS2 has more weapons that are actually viable for PvP.
And half of the unique movesets are dumped in super slow weapons that are useless.
fml, used up the ancient dragon soul before I killed Vendrick, now he's so hard to beat.

I'm fucking tired of helping other people defeat Smough and Ornstein, gain humanity and then being killed by an invading NG+++++++++ player in one hit and going back to square one

Name of the clip says it all
One of my favorite things that happens in Souls games is when I beat a boss and the music just happens to cut out at a section where it sounds like the song ends
Maria is my favorite fight in the entirety of BB, even though she was far from the hardest She's kind of like Artorias in that respect
I just wish that players in pvp would sometimes resort to more simple builds that have a certain style instead of the most effective builds and such. Rarely I have fights with regular players where we both have normal gear and weapons that are not overpowered. I liked fat roll fights in Dark Souls 1 quite a bit.
I wish Dark Souls pvp had some sort of ranking or matchmaking so the whole thing didn't have to be hugely tryhard. Anyone who goes to the BoB arenas for 1v1 duels "for fun" will get their asses handed to them guaranteed. Also, I'm asking again since I couldn't find an answer. Are any spears viable for PvE? Like don't they get hugely outclassed in damage by other weapons or am I mistaken?
Spears are fine for PvE. In general, everything is viable in PvE with the exception of something that's blatantly not a functional weapon, stuff like broken sword hilts and the like. And people will still try to make those work.
two-handed spears are great in ds1 winged spear and silver knight spear are my weaponfus they weren't that enjoyable in ds2 though

I always loved spears in souls games. Even if most of the movesets are a bit bland. I would really like to see something that feels fancy and acrobatic. Honestly, there is a definite lack of spear weapons in most rpgs in general. They're awesome weapons.

It's kinda unfair to the new guys who walk into the arena and immediately get bodied by someone who literally spends their whole life in the arena.
