I noticed that Dark Souls 2 has a minor version of Sword Arts available. IIRC swordarts in DS3 are triggered by using the parry button, and in DS2 some weapons in the normal game and tons of the weapons in the DLC have attacks bound to the parry key. It's neat
Yeah, this also includes powerstancing, for example powerstancing scimitars will give you unique powerstance attacks, DS3 has the Legion Scimitar. The UGS' Sword Art from DS3 use a modified Fume UGS 2 handed special attack (the DS2 is a slam while DS3 goes straight Berserk which slash upwards). The Murakumo is totally unique though so that makes me a bit excited for the rest.
I saw a guy take down no-Soul Vendrick with a broken ladel.
What is even the point?
I got invaded today like 7 times today and since that character sinned pretty hard I also get spirits of vengeance. All of them so far were polite, they wait for me to finish the enemies before attacking also they bowed. At least I gave them humanity before fighting to make it worth it.
Hmm, I'm gonna go with; I just get invaded by shitheads constantly. I've never had much luck with PvP in DaS, it's rarely worked out well with co-op either to be honest haha, they tend to just kinda run off ledges a lot with me. Also are the Ruin Sentinels meant to be hard or something? I could swear they were meant to be a miniboss, not just jobbers with HUD health bars.
Man, so now I have a proper friend in possession of a PS4 and Bloodborne that I can mooch off for the conceivable future. So far I have cleared Gascoigne and poked around the following area. So far my impression of the game is that the Kirkhammer is so much goddamn fun, goddamn.
has and one here played dragon's dogma? is it any good? it looks kinda similar to dark souls. I need something to play until dark souls 3 comes out why hasn't dark souls 3 come out yet
You should probably ask in the Dragon's Dogma thread.

That said it controls nothing like Dark Souls.

It's loads of fun, combat is exciting and difficult, the world is very alive and immersive, dark dungeons are what you would expect them to be, many vocations/classes that you can switch to if you want to change things up, mages kick extreme ass, and there are plenty of things to do. I'd say it's well worth it.
dragon is dogma is just a bad japanese ripoff of dark souls in my opinion. japanese developers just trying to bask in the glory that is superior western souls games.
it's fun until you realize you need to be standing right on top of anything for the hammer to actually do full damage
It hasn't been too bad so far, range management hasn't been a big problem for me so far. I actually find the fact the shockwave from this giant brick can do damage to be amusing. Maybe it'll get more difficult in the future, but at least it's got a nice sword as back-up.
Capra Demon down on new character, into the Depths I go. Oh joy.
Okay now I'm concerned that all the bosses are mere jobbers in DaS2: SotFS. I haven't died to any of them and I just murdered the shit out of the Lost Sinner. Random Pursuer encounters and mobs of exploding dicklords in the Bastille are causing me more grief than the bosses.

Dark Souls 3 is April for North American PC users, right?
Dark Souls 3 is April for North American PC users, right?
yep. and japs get it much earlier than everyone else. have fun with the spoilers
Man, Laurence is no joke. i just want that rune man. anywhere i can farm insight? i need Valters help until i can get PS+
Slogged through the Depths, and beat the Gaping Dragon after a couple tries. The fight definitely got a lot more manageable after I cut off the tail and no longer had to deal with those annoying tail swipes.

I need something to play until dark souls 3 comes out why hasn't dark souls 3 come out yet
it's a Japanese Action RPG in a dark fantasy setting based on Medieval Europe with fun combat and great character customization. That's pretty much everything the two games have in common in one sentence, other than that they're very different. I love both though.
All this Dark Souls and I've yet to go back to Bloodborne and permanently ring my small resonant bell near Ludwig's arena
late, but this is the single best music transition i have ever heard in a video game around 4:15
All the DLC tracks are gr8. Laurence is probably my favorite.
Is the chikage good for anything but pvp? I can't see the fast poison damage being useful against bosses or most enemies
Is the chikage good for anything but pvp? I can't see the fast poison damage being useful against bosses or most enemies
Yes, because it's retardedly strong with a Bloodtinge/Skill build on its own. If you're using it for fast poison, then don't. Plus, it has nice vertical swings in blood mode for hitting hard to reach spots on bosses like [sp]Amy G. Dala's head[/sp] One downside is it doesn't have great horizontal reach and it can be a teeeeeeny bit on the slower side, but you can probably out trade most dudes in PVP. Don't try that in PVE, trust me.
Not to mention it's transformed state instantly knocks down small enemies like dogs and spiders, which is a godsend.
Man I hope we get a defensive UGS in DKS3. Fume is insanely good for that two-handed playstyle due to the block frames and crazy defenses it has. This, combined with Mr. Japanese Directive Guy saying that heavy playstyles will not place you at a disadvantage would make for a very fun playthrough. I also kinda wish going heavy would prevent you from rolling but instead let you do quicksteps that have very little iframes but cost little stamina. Rolling and such should be exclusive to light and medium builds.

That's gonna be uncomfortable as shit.
