So are Elana's summons just RNG or what? The third time I fought her she summoned [sp]Velstadt[/sp] at like 50% HP but on the fifth fight I killed her and she only summoned two sets of skeletons. It's a pretty cool fight when she doesn't summon an entire other boss
Pretty much. I've had runs where it was just her and occasionally some skeletons, i've had others where she's kept Velstadt up for literally the entire fight. Summoned him almost as soon as we walked in, summoned him again the moment the last one died, etc.
Any roll limitations based on armor class rather than just equip weight would completely destroy fashion souls No thanks
By going heavy I meant getting past a certain equip weight threshold. Think DkS1 where you're fatrolling except this time you'd be quickstepping. This wouldn't really be a limitation but more of an alternative playstyle you'd be offered for going heavy; you won't cover as much distance with your dodges but you'll perform them a lot quicker for a lower stamina cost to offset the natural penalties of heavy armour and also to mantain speed, which was Miyazaki's main focus with balancing heavy classes according to this interview ( which may or may not be complete bullshit, but it still gave me this idea ) PCG: In terms of speed Dark Souls 3 seems to be more like Bloodborne. How do you make sure that tank builds will still be a viable choice when enemies are that fast? Miyazaki: We made both of the characters in the demo more agile despite them carrying heavy weapons and armor. We wanted to show the players how we intend Dark Souls 3 to feel. In the finished game these characters will definitely be slower. But we do make sure that even heavier builds are fast enough and won’t have a disadvantage in the game. http://fextralife.com/miyazaki-dark-souls-3-magic-info-via-pcgames/ I dunno, it's probably a shitty idea but I do like the thought of putting on that heavy armor and doing sick long steps like the armored Hollows in DkS1 often do. Edit: if anything, make it work like BB's dodges; quickstep while locked on, fatrolls while unlocked. Tap unlock to cover more distance with more iframes at a higher stamina cost but worse recovery times compared to quicksteps.
I cannot believe I one shot went through Blighttown not knowing I had skipped not one... but TWO bonfires!? Yes, I missed the one on the bridge... somehow! I had to go from the bonfire in Depths (the one in the tiny room) to the boss in one go. I only know now because, once and only once I cleared it, I check videos to see if I haven't missed anything. Which is what I did for all the others once cleared. Might be why I still haven't found the one in Sen's Fortress... if there is one that is. It feels like it's a small zone where it tests your patience more then anything else. Because rushing the pendulums and boulders were both bad ideas.
The only reason why some people think it's bad is because they're impatient and try rushing through the level, which results in them losing their way and dying.
I know this was last page, and we're past it, but I disagree with this a LOT. Blight Town's major crippling flaw is the toxic archers, around the upper bonfire. That whole area is a clusterfuck, and honestly not that much fun until you eliminate the archers, or go into the forest and get a shitload of anti-toxin. AND, even then, there's a lot of issues with core mechanics of the area. You can clip through and DIE on a lot of the ladders, even without DSFix. Also, it likes to bring enemies out of places you can't have gotten to yet. It's really not as bad as people say, no, but Blight Town is teetering on the "artificial difficulty bullshit" line pretty fucking hard. [sp]Peer off of one of the ledges around the area where a Giant throws fire pots at you. It's a short drop, right onto the bonfire.[/sp]
So, I'm playing SotFS, got to the first DLC, last boss. I manage to get him to like 5% HP and my fucking claymore breaks. I don't really have anything equipped, nor do I have time to change my equipment. So I punched this fucking [sp]dragon[/sp] to death with my fucking fists, using my last estus along the way. Fuck yeah, Dark Souls.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/1V0sJ2z.jpg[/t] Then the game awarded me a nice view on my personal fetish and the ability to warp between selected bonfires It was like Christmas' morning

I also found how to discern what's a mimic and what's a chest thanks to Anor Londo. [sp]Chain is not round.[/sp] And aside from that, I'm stuck in Anor Londo. Miss Fire Keeper says to go straight but all I found was a encore battle with Gargoyle, a hidden chest and the bottomless abysses all around. Going left and up is blocked by a yellow light that requires some Great Lord's Power, so I assume it's late/end game or NG stuff. So either I missed a door somewhere or I should try a leap of faith at the end of the bridge.
Well didn't want to change my fireguy build so... i ended up fighting Watchdog of the Old Lords with a fire saw clever +6, hunter torch +6 and a flamesprayer +6 That took so much. And it was the 1st chalice final boss

Remember: if you can reach it, you can probably walk on it in Dark Souls. The world is quite cleverly set up.
I also found how to discern what's a mimic and what's a chest thanks to Anor Londo. [sp]Chain is not round.[/sp]
Wrong. There's a very important detail that comes to attention when you wait for a while.... [sp]the lid opens after a while and reveals a row of teeth[/sp]
Alternatively just simply hit it with you best weapon and see if the chest reacts or not.
Alternatively just simply hit it with you best weapon and see if the chest reacts or not.
yes but where's the fun in that? :v:
Wrong. There's a very important detail that comes to attention when you wait for a while.... [sp]the lid opens after a while and reveals a row of teeth[/sp]
Actually he is right about the chain. On a chest the chain curls around, on a mimic it lies out almost straight.
Even easier just notice the ten blood stains and notes surrounding it.
Alternatively, just chuck a Lloyd's Talisman at it...
Is there a lore explanation for why that works? I could never put together why something that hinders undead from consuming estus causes that effect on mimics.
Even easier just notice the ten blood stains and notes surrounding it.
I actually had 5 messages around warning me about it so I just started looking at both before opening them. I knew the devs would leave at least one hint for players to avoid them. Playing all those "spot the difference" games during my childhood came in handy. Who would have thought.
Alternatively, just chuck a Lloyd's Talisman at it...
what the FUCK
why is dark souls 3 not out yet
i know thats a joke but im glad they seem to be taking their time with dark souls 3, the last thing i want is for it to be rushed out the door like 75% of AAA games have been for the past 2 years
It boggles my mind how people keep missing him. :v: This is why you spam the lock on.
What did he do to hide like that?
I think he did the sitting down gesture.
WHY ISNT IT OUT YET
I can't believe it's not out yet
bloodborne 2?
more bloodborne dlc first please
I heard dark souls 3 was being announced soon.
New official Dark Souls comic is coming out in April, and judging by the armor, it's probably going to be about Alva the Wayfarer.
