if you cant beat them then dont fight them
I think the one on a narrow walkway with a black knight right behind it must be defeated to advance, at the very least
i have never killed a single one of those skeledogs i run past each and every one
I think the one on a narrow walkway with a black knight right behind it must be defeated to advance, at the very least
ive literally speedran tomb of giants numerous times you dont have to fight a single enemy
just hug the wall their aggro range is incredibly small
But ... but you guys told me several times that trying to speedrun through enemies would had let me to several deaths in Dark Souls
tomb of the giants and izalith are the exceptions to that rule
But ... but you guys told me several times that trying to speedrun through enemies would had let me to several deaths in Dark Souls
To succeed at Dark Souls, you have to play it safe at all times... except when you have to jump the gun and run like a spastic. There is no key to understanding when to do the former and when to do the latter. [sp]Generally speaking, it's best to just pick your feet up and boogie if you're rushing to the boss door and aren't summoning anyone. If the area ahead has a number of twisty turns or climbing, you can safely sprint through the preceding area.[/sp]
It leads to death if you're not careful. Some areas are worse to speedrun and some are not. Tomb of the Giants is a shitty area but you can easily speedrun it, there isn't much to look anyway
But ... but you guys told me several times that trying to speedrun through enemies would had let me to several deaths in Dark Souls
Keep in mind this tactic is only advisable if you're aware of what is ahead beforehand. [editline]22nd January 2016[/editline] But go ahead and speedrun [editline]22nd January 2016[/editline] But also be careful
But ... but you guys told me several times that trying to speedrun through enemies would had let me to several deaths in Dark Souls
Rushing through will get you killed, the reason people in this thread can rush through is because they know that game inside and out. All you need to do in the Tomb of the Giants is take is slow and don't be afraid to retreat. The area isn't particularly big.
So this is my first time playing any dark souls. How in the fuck do you get past seath and his band of clams?
So this is my first time playing any dark souls. How in the fuck do you get past seath and his band of clams?
For the clams there are 3 options: 1. Kill them all. This is slow but if your careful it's the safest option for a new player. 2. Run past the clams, sticking to the left wall to prevent them from following you into the fight. 3. If the fog is already there, run past them to the fog, roll immediately once you get through to avoid any attacks. As for Seath, well just make sure to learn his attacks and when he uses them.
seath is only really hard if youre trying to lop off his tail
crikey Gwyn is hardcore I can't seem to do much damage, the only time I managed to he just hit me with the very tip of his sword and killed me
seath is only really hard if youre trying to lop off his tail
or if you have the default curse resistance so many statues
crikey Gwyn is hardcore I can't seem to do much damage, the only time I managed to he just hit me with the very tip of his sword and killed me
He's got some big hits. But in the end he is a humanoid enemy, about your size. You know what to do.
Fuck the iron passage. [editline]22nd January 2016[/editline] Fume knight is hard as shit too.
I almost had an aneurysm when I realized Iron Passage is entirely optional and I didn't have to spend an hour trying to get through that stupid fucking area just to fight another Smelter Demon. Fume Knight was fun and gave me a kickass UGS.

lol oops wrong thread

You don't get any good loot for beating Cool Ranch so you aren't missing anything if you skip it.
But ... but you guys told me several times that trying to speedrun through enemies would had let me to several deaths in Dark Souls
Have some sense of self-preservation and you'll make it through anything
thats an old meme
you mean vintage
How do those fucking skeleton dogs in the giant's tomb? I can't even get up before they just munch at me.
I was watching a stream of a 1st run of a dude in DS2. He was in the Gutter and got invaded. He decided to just ignore him until they reach a bridge where the invader just stands there, waving. Then, I assume, the invader just dropped some equipment, pointed at an ambushed monster and simply left. I wish I'd meet friendly invaders once in my life.
How do those fucking skeleton dogs in the giant's tomb? I can't even get up before they just munch at me.
Use a Skull Lantern, and you can see them before they see you. Then! Use an upgraded weapon with range. My favorite is the Crystal Halberd, which is found in Anor Londo. Upgrade it once or twice, and just fuck 'em up. There's one dog that will rush you basically as SOON as you see it, so be sure to either run away or roll away from him, so that he's still attacking and you can hit him from behind.
Ok, I'm now seeing some parts of Blighttown that are making me hate it. How nice to know that there's an acid swamp at the bottom of the place. Shame I had to learn that the hard way.
How nice to know that there's an acid swamp at the bottom of the place. Shame I had to learn that the hard way.
That's the easy part of it.
