I really, REALLY dislike the Maiden in Black / Emerald Herald "talk to this person to level up" shenanigans.

If there is a Maiden in Black/Emerald Herald style character to level you up doesn't that make the DS1 character the most powerful of the bunch? Personally I really hope that changes from DS2 are reverted, being able to level yourself, upgrade and repair your own gear, and no needing to sit at every bonfire to prevent your paper mache weapons from crumpling made DS a much more enjoyable game to me.
I honestly don't know why they still have weapon degradation. I can only think of a single weapon in BB that actually has degradation as a factor in its use (the tonitrus), even the more brittle weapons like the chikage can still be regularly repaired and will not break in the middle of combat provided you aren't some tard who uses gems with weapon condition down in PvE.
Weapon durability is in the games to force you to pay attention. You can't just haplessly smash your weapon into everything without wrecking it, but if you keep calm and use your weapon properly you rarely need to fix it. Personally I think DS1 had the best rate of degradation, if you know what you're doing and don't flail around like an idiot you can get through the entire game without repairing your weapon, but if you use you weapons poorly and constantly slap them on wall or whatever you'll need to repair them often.
Except I can haplessly smash my weapon into everything. Some weapons, like the hunter axe, have such a huge amount of durability (as well as being repaired to full every time it is upgraded) mean that I often forget weapon durability is still a thing.
So what's the problem? If it doesn't affect you there's nothing to really complain about.
I'm not allowed to complain about mechanics that are basically redundant?
I hope you can level up from bonfires but it's a fact that Maiden in Black was superior of the two B)

I think a median between DaS2 and DaS would be best. Something like, you need to fix it every area or so. Instead of every quarter of an area like in DaS2.
I'm not allowed to complain about mechanics that are basically redundant?
It isn't redundant. It's just not something you have to worry about because you're good at the game. A LOT of people have problems with their weapons breaking in Dark Souls because they're not any good at the game.

Those looks great, but there isn't that much color. I hope this is all from just a few areas in the game.
Gong into cryosleep until April.

The lack of color in those shots actually looks kinda similar to the the memory segments in DS2.
Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've met my new fiancee around the Crystal Cave When she asked for her father at Firelink Shrine and I answered "no" and the next time she disappeared, so I can only assume I fucked up

Going to be honest. DS3 doesn't look that much prettier than previous DS games. And instead of these 1000 dollars limited edition plastic figurines and books, they should make 1 iron elite knight helmet instead as limited edition. At least something real-life to display, something gritty, not these plastic dolls.
If it just looks like a higher resolution and more polished DS1, then it'll be fine.
Just from those screenshots we can see that there is already a pretty significant increase in quality of the models and lighting over DS2. It'll also be interesting to see how everything animates. The souls series has always had fairly static environments.
On the contrary, I was won over into preordering Dark Souls 3 soon largely by its looks this far Also, today I realized that the white-robed woman found near the entrance of the Research Hall (The Old Hunters DLC) is, in fact, Vicar Amelia I don't know why I didn't realize this sooner

Her prayer sounds exactly the same. Even if you aren't listening to the words, the sound of her voice is the same.

If the elite knight set's knee pads has faces on the back side of it (which is very noticeable from almost all angles in both DS1 and 2) then its proof that models have a lot more care put into thrm.
