Just found out where to buy the summoning and invading bells in Bloodborne. PvP is so fun, especially when you're summoned three minutes later by the guy you destroyed to help with a boss. :v:
I didn't expect [sp]Orphan of Kos[/sp] to go apeshit and swing around a tumor in hypermode while screaming, but I love it
Adaptability was the worst decision, i hope they change it in DS2.
I also hate how Endurance and carry weight were split. Like, what the fuck? I get softcapping endurance to 20 so it's like 140 stam at most that you'll be having, but splitting it into another stat for carry weight when it's absolutely critical in DS2? The game does a lot to artificially extend your levelups and I hate that shit. Try running a magic build without your stats being absolutely cancerous; you have to put points into ATN otherwise you have no casts and can't attune shit. You have to put points into INT/FTH otherwise you deal no damage and can't cast actually useful spells. You have to put points into ADP otherwise your rolls are almost unplayable, and you can't even go into STR to put on a greatshield or max out a DEX weapon. Just awful. This is of course without mentioning that you'll be stuck at base VIT/END/VGR if you intend to actually cast shit & dodgeroll or use weapons. Magic builds only get good at around the halfway point when you get SoulGS.
The fact that your i-frames depends on a stat in DS2 is gross.
Adaptability was the worst decision, i hope they change it in DS2.
The only thing they should keep from DS2 is the excellent multiplayer connectivity (minus memory) You know, thinking about it I'm actually excited as fuck for DS3. DS1 is probably my tied favourite with BB, but I missed the multiplayer heyday. BB is only 30 FPS and the multiplayer is a lot less apparent (nowhere near as many youtube clips for BB as there are for DS2 for example) but it still contends as my favourite (due to combat quality, art and world design, it's an incredible game). If it was on PC it might well be on top of my list DS3 is on PC, which means silky smooth 60, and will most likely have excellent multiplayer and hopefully all the other good aspects of the past games, certainly seems that way so far. The stars have finally aligned and we'll get to play a game that might be the best in the series so far
The fact that your i-frames depends on a stat in DS2 is gross.
Fat rolling havel armor guy with 110 AGI is pure bullshit to deal with.
Minor thought I had, but could it be that the Frostbite effect that Crawlyfrostguy in the NT applied will be added to Crystal sorceries? Would be a neat buff to sorcerers IMO. I always thought that crystal spells should do more than just have more damage and obnoxious sound effects.
As long we don't get a Frenzy like status I'm ok. Frostbite seems fine enough, you just happen to get against an aggressive enemy which isn't as bad as getting poisoned and relentlessly chased by a blood starved beast
I tried played Dark Souls 1 with m+kb and it actually was pretty viable and I could see myself using it from time to time, but the camera is super jittery when looking around. It's horrible.

Poison throwing knives &, lacerating oil, etc were all really neat. If mages got some form of CC that'd be really neat. As it stands the most you can do is just shockwave people.
I tried played Dark Souls 1 with m+kb and it actually was pretty viable and I could see myself using it from time to time, but the camera is super jittery when looking around. If DS1 had the same technical qualities of DS2 I'd play it everyday, but the awful framerate, the 4-directional movement system and other minor things like that ontop of online being hard as fuck to work makes me reluctant to try going back & forth. DS1 is perfect for solo play, so completing all achievements there was actually really nice. Try to co-op with a friend or something and it's borderline insufferable.

how do we know that oedon is alive though
how do we know that oedon is alive though
yeah that's why I changed it. We know they're left, and the game mentions that Paarl isn't the only darkbeast. There are probably also other great ones being worshipped or feared in other places since there are foreign hunters like Eileen and hunters from the east like yamamura and the chikage is a foreign weapon that uses blood
we dont encounter oedon because he is 'formless'
It's possible Oedon is just some spirit thing that goes around assisting humans with the potential to become great ones without cheating by covering themselves in eyes which is why the doll says she senses the ancient echoes coursing through your veins
how do we know that oedon is alive though
[sp]We know Oedon is alive because 'he' impregnates Arianna in the Chapel. He may also impregnate false Iosefka, but it's not exactly clear what happened there.[/sp] [editline]31st January 2016[/editline]
It's possible Oedon is just some spirit thing that goes around assisting humans with the potential to become great ones without cheating by covering themselves in eyes which is why the doll says she senses the ancient echoes coursing through your veins
[sp]Oedon exists solely in voice. Blood Echos are the will of those who came before you, their voices if you will. It is entirely possible that blood echoes are Oedon himself, or a manifestation of him. I don't think spirit is the right word to describe Oedon, but his implicit actions in the story and the game do point to him being one of the 'good' Great Ones. I don't think he did anything negative in the game.[/sp]
(Dark Souls II) Why do I have only one Estus flask? Why the animation to drink said flasks has been slowed and I have to invest points in a dedicated stat to make it go faster, on Dark Souls the first level? Why do some enemy attacks still hit me even if, by the time the dodge AND the enemy attack have ended, I'm completely elsewhere? Why do enemy arrows and projectiles can change direction in mid-air, towards me? Why, while in the first game parrying was done AS THE ENEMY WAS ATTACKING, now parrying requires you to do the move IN ADVANCE of the enemy attack? Why enemy arrows land on my character like they were fucking javelins, stunning me every for a longer or shorter amount of time each time? But more importantly Why there is a female cat (as in, a real life cat) in Majula trying to seduce me?

Shitty hitboxes I guess, try rolling into another direction. I have never noticed arrows do it, some magic missiles home in though. Don't know. Poise damage I guess, not every arrow stunned me, try getting heavier armor. Don't you like cats?

Until you find Estus Flask Shards, rely on lifegems. Shards aren't super rare early on. Everything to do with consumables seems slower, I suppose it's an attempt at stopping people from cheesing a fight by just chowing down on restoratives? If you're rolling, the i-frames are FUCKED early on, you need to upgrade adaptability. If you're just moving, the hitboxes might just be shit for that weapon. Arrows don't. Magic can. Not sure where you're seeing this. Parrying varies by shield IIRC, some parry super early, some parry super late. It requires a lot more timing and knowledge than the DS1 "slap parry, win fight". Arrows appear to deal a shitload of poise damage. idk. poise is fucking confusing. Yo don't chat shit about snarky cats. They will fuck you up more than normal cats. DS2 has a lot of changes I quite like, but some of the things you've mentioned are things that totally ruined me for a few hours after playing DS1 not long before starting DS2. You adapt to it eventually. I've only just started feeling confident in my parries a mere 9 hours in. But generally I think the combat feels a bit more flexible than DS1, more challenging (and not just due to enemy placement) and a bit more visceral.
Why do enemy arrows and projectiles can change direction in mid-air, towards me?
DS1 and bloodborne both also do this so why are only now just noticing.
Welp, my next boss fight is vs Maneater. :v: This will not be easy.
Somehow managed to totally skip the Smelter Demon. Fuck that guy. Why did I come back for an asskicking.

You Died aCHIEVMENT XD No, for real, it's just meant to make the game more difficult. I would be ok with all this shit if the enemies themselves weren't unfair or their positioning/numbers weren't batshit insane. As far as the last point goes I don't think the cat is seductive, I think it's just cat. My cat shows me her butt when I pet her but that doesn't mean anythin man.

But more importantly Why there is a female cat (as in, a real life cat) in Majula trying to seduce me?
Estus is rarer, weaker, and slower in Dark Souls 2 because they want you to use life gems. Why? I don't know. When your adaptability is low everything you do (except attacking) is super slow. If you get it stupidly high a lot of what you can do gets so fast it's pretty much broken. Enemy arrows have tracked you in every Souls game, if they didn't they'd literally never hit you. They tried to make parrying harder by forcing you to predict when you have to parry rather making you react. This is a terrible design choice because it's based largely on luck on if your parry is successful or not, you can get good at it with practice. It also isn't fun to do in the slightest. All attacks stagger you, poise was changed to primarily prevent you from being staggered while attacking, only incredibly high poise will prevent light attacks from staggering you normally. Hooray for heavy armour being stun locked to death, just like Demon's Souls. You leave Shalquoir alone, pervert.
Am I the only one who finds parrying infinitely easier in DS2? Like, I don't even have to try in that game. It's DS1 where I have to actually time my parries.
Am I the only one who finds parrying infinitely easier in DS2? Like, I don't even have to try in that game. It's DS1 where I have to actually time my parries.
How? Parrying is DS1 is the easiest thing in the world when you get used to it (I do think the parry windows should have been reduced for DS2, I just hate that the window was moved so drastically). In Dark Souls 2 you pretty much have to do a full parry animation before the enemy even swings their weapon, it's fucking ridiculous.
Ironically I can't parry with a parrying shield to save my life in DS1. I can only consistently pull it off with a regular medium shield. But in DS2 it's the opposite. I can only reliably parry with a parrying shield in there, but it's so dang easy I don't even have to put effort into timing my parries. 90% of my invasion kills are just from parrying everyone. :v: [editline]rrerr[/editline] I think what makes DS2's parrying easier for me is because of how fucked up the netcode is in DS1. I have to complete the entire parry animation a second before the opponent even attacks and it looks so stupid 'cuz it looks like the opponent just got parried by air due to the animations not even lining up correctly due to the lag. But in DS2 the netcode is MUCH better and I can actually reliably predict much easier when a parry is going to line up.

Oh wait now they have to be weaker and have less casts than every other magic. Because my Lightning Spears should do less damage than dark orbs and I can only carry a handful of them, when I can have nearly 100 dark orbs. Right
I have never managed to successfully parry in pve dark souls 2, only once in pvp and that was with the smallest shield I could find. I still don't know how it works so I don't use shields at all
