It leaves it open purposely, your character isnt forced any backstory like they attempt in the opening of ds2. You choose who you are completely, though your race, class, and starting gear.

DS2 pretty clearly intends for you to play as a guy now that I think about it. It forces you to start out as one anyway.

The only hints at the player's identity are the clothes you start in marking you as a foreigner, and the Cainhurst Summons which is addressed to you.

I'm not sure if it's a mistake or not, so jump on it while you can. I've heard that EU people may not be able to see it yet though.

I haven't received any notification yet. Though I think it's weird that anyone can download the stress test even though it's only going to be for select people. Wouldn't it make more sense to provide a download code to those accepted while keeping the download private from everyone else on the store?

So today I finally got a PS4 and Bloodborne.

After about an hour of playing it, maybe even less, it just suddenly froze completely.
The PS4 wouldn't respond at all and eventually I had to just pull out the power cord.
Now it just says "Checking the system storage status..." and is stuck at 19%.

It's very useful, in fact, it's probably the most useful in certain situations.

Not only does each hit regain a lot of health, its long reach makes a few bosses really easy. Amygdala and Paarl are extremely easy with the extended hunter axe because the long reach allows you hit Amygdala's front arms and Paarl's legs.

The charge attack when extended also blows back anything that's not a church giant, pig, or an oversized boss which will save your ass if you need some breathing room.

Not only that, the long reach can let you hit enemies through certain obstacles which you will have to do when you are greatly outmatched and need to even the odds by cheesing. Such as when you have to fight 3 hunters at the same time

Hunter Axe is pretty much considered the best weapon in the game in terms of versatility. Its extended halberd form is pretty much the best choice against bosses with unusual hitboxes as the wide sweeps usually always guarantees the hits will land.

As for raw damage, though, Ludwig's sword is probably the top contender for that.
