Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

Dark Souls question: Can phantoms pick items I drop? I have been invaded a few times while I was doing the additional content and I was thinking of start dropping a humanity item before engaging combat, as a gift for visiting my world if I get the chance.
Are it the white church clothes bugged or something? Because my female character puts on the male version instead.

Yes. Dropped a few goodies during a fightclub I was summoned to and picked up something for 3 consecutive wins as well.
My friend is playing through Dark Souls for the first time, completely blind. We're going to co-op through it all the way, and start a new character to get a 3rd into the mix. He's fallen for all the classics, like the slime on the item in the sewers and the first mimic in Sens Fortress. Couldn't get my brother to continue with his game so I guess I'll make sure 2 of my friends see it through.
I could see a cyberpunk game like that where your deaths are explained as a copy of your conscious dying. Although SOMA has souls, bloodborne, and AC beat for hopelessness
[editline]13th October 2015[/editline]
Or a game that takes place in a dying virtual world and killing enemies frees up memory you can take for yourself
Unreal Tournament style 'clone' explaination perhaps could work too
What sl is everyone fighting fume knight at im at 1.7 mil ive never seen a summom sign and im stuck on this asshole.
IIRC, they said DS3 would be the last dark souls game, but they want to keep the formula for future games.
Nah, he said it was misquoted, but he would still like to explore other areas
So the NA lottery results for the dark souls 3 stress test got sent out. I didn't get one. This sucks.
Some people are saying that even if you have the leak you can't play because you have to register your online ID for PSN or something.
After conducting the lottery, you have been selected to join the Network Stress Test. You will now be able to participate in the upcoming Network Stress Test until the end of the testing period.
Also, please note that the Network Stress Test data was recently released on PlayStation™Network (PSN) in Americas in error. However, participation in the Network Stress Test will still be limited to those players who applied and were selected, as was originally planned.
I doubt anyone has a spare key but if you do... Message me.
I'm finding it hard to complete the later dungeons by myself. The rare ingredients don't help matters when trying to platinum this game.
A bit unrelated; Chapter one completed of the story for college. Will look and mark for errors later. Will share the story later.
some slightly new mp info http://cbt.darksouls3.com/en/gameguide-networkplay.html
the only change i can see is you can't invade someone if they have coop partners in their world, and there's a change in the humanity mechanic.
In order to summon other players, you must use an Ember to obtain the power of the Lord of Cinder.
Using an Ember allows you to become a multiplayer host.
When in Lord of Cinder mode, your character's appearance will change, and you'll have the following effects until you die:
- Maximum HP boosted 1.4x
- Able to summon other players via soul sign
- Icons next to gauges change
what the fucking shit
what the fucking shit
Hilarious how in SotFS they added more people for bigger fight clubs and PvP and now they're effectively killing it.
On one hand, this eliminates gank spanks so it's more fair for invaders, but on the other hand this limits how many people you can invade since I'm sure tons of people will be co-oping through the game.
I'm not sure how to feel about this.

Fight clubs could still be around IF the Red Sign Soapstone still exists in DS3 and can summon 2 invaders with it. Although that'd be a tiny fucking fight club.
If not, then, well, yeah. :why:
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
In the end, I guess it couldn't be as bad as Bloodborne's invasion system where they really dropped the ball hard on that one.
what the fucking shit
to be fair invading someone who can heal + has 2-3 coop buddies, seed of the tree giants, is frankly bullshit
odds couldn't be more stacked against invaders it's a wonder people even bother trying it. Only the extremely skilled would bother.
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
if you aren't an incredibly good player you're going to get bored of dying
99% of people who invade me are literal one man gank armies
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
this at least allows people to actually have fun invading others

It's also probably going to push more people towards co-op.
Speaking of "fair for invaders": The invaders already have the hosts enemies on their side :why:
So someone with a healing miracle can perform some nasty guerrilla-tactics.

Not all hosts are stupid enough to follow you into an enemy mob.
fuck outta here
I'll do better next time, I promise
Not all hosts are stupid enough to follow you into an enemy mob.
Then again, it's trivially easy for an invader to wait until the host is occupied by enemies to swoop in.
It's easy for an invader to abuse the fact that enemies ignore them, because that almost guarantees that you get a chance to regroup, heal, and soften the host up before coming back.
I'd say that the whole "invader has enemybros, host has summonbros" thing works fantastically. Maybe make it so that hosts with two summoned phantoms are immune to invading? Though that would still muck with fight clubs, it'd mean that gankers have a good bit less leeway.
i don't mind the change. i never ran into gank squads much and if i did i died and it wasn't very fun.
i can see how people like the challenge of fighting an extra person though or how you'd want to be invaded while cooping.
mech souls yes pls
could be a new gundam game
I want this just to see the impotent rage of Armored Core fans.
I am completely in love with all the armor designs in DS3 so far
I hope that if they implement a pvp hotspot like belfry luna/sol or darkroot forest, they add an area that lets you summon/be summoned without being vulnerable to invasions. When I was trying to sunbro the gargoyles it was a pain getting invaded while waiting to be summoned.
If other players rate your messages, you'll regain a little HP.
Saw this on the gameplay guide page http://cbt.darksouls3.com/en/gameguide-networkplay.html
Seems like a nice little touch to reward players for helping one another. It would be funny if rating down took away a tiny point of health, but I think that would be abused by people.
Well the whole rate and gain HP was already implemented before so i'm glad they haven't took it out.
Nice, I got into the network test!
Can't wait to not tell anybody about anything that happens within the game :v

Pretty sure we'll just have access to the E3 demo that we've seen along with that first boss and the special ice knight enemy. Who knows, though.
It'll definitely be just the stuff we've already seen.
I just hope there is a covenant that allows 2vs2 or 3vs3 pvp
