Sorry for asking too many question but, I'm planning in getting Dark Souls to a friend but I want to know how reliable is coop with someone. Like if we organize, I left a summon sign in an area, how long it would be take to him see the sign? I read somewhere there is used to be like a mod to make this easier but it broke when the Steamworks update happened, is anything like available? I'm also aware joining covenants focused in co-op also helps.
1's netcode is absolute trash. it will be a pain to play the whole game that way
How does the Estus work in DS3? Is it the faster DS1 version that stops if you take damage or the slower DS2 one that still heals after taking damage?
More like DS1, but not completely. The animation is faster than both games but the heal is slightly slower than DS1 but getting hit stops the healing. Divine blessings also heal over time, they heal chunks of health every second-ish for a couple of seconds. Kind of like a stronger but shorter lasting Elizabeth's Mushroom.
DS1? AFAIK, you don't have that good of a chance. It's doable, but prepare for waiting.

1's netcode is absolute trash. it will be a pain to play the whole game that way
Well, butts. There goes any hope of having jolly co-operation with friends. Thanks anyway.
ds1 co op works sometimes. but sometimes it just doesnt

Sometimes it's funny and you can see each others ghosts but one player can't see another's summon signs though. It's slow to set up and doesn't always work, but I've done most of the DLC in a recent run coop with a friend.
yeah I wasn't saying it was impossible but it is an incredibly huge pain in the ass to find a specific person
Man, I've recorded over 200GB worth of footage. Can't wait to render them all and post 'em up on YouTube. Though I imagine it's going to take hours with the amount of footage I captured.

This makes wish we had something like a remake of Dark Souls. Having an optimized engine with actual video options, proper gravity, better netcode and modding support. Yeah, one can dream.
Welp, the stress test just ended. That was fun! Looking forward to the next one tomorrow.

the game is gonna look so nice on pc. i appreciate that they improved the AA on ps4 compared to bloodborne at least (have they or is it just me?) i'm curious to see what sort of environments ds3 will have. so far i know we have a forest, a prison, and the giant demo castle . ds1 and ds2 had really good variation so i hope ds3 does the same. bloodborne had amazing environments but not much variation compared to the souls games. if you compare bloodborne environments to dark souls it's pretty much bloodborne: - gothic city + prison - rural area - forest - 2 nightmare areas - snow castle dark souls: - undead city - giant poop swamp town - a giant tree - a huge lake underground - a fortress of traps - city of gods - snow world - forest - ghost city - giant library - crystal cave - lava world - catacombs + some really dark caves - and the dlc areas granted some of these zones are kinda small, the variation is still pretty impressive and it made the world feel amazing
Oh my god, DS3 is just Demon's 2? Holy shit. I figured that they were just taking a few things that worked back then, but sounds like a lot of things have been brought back

I live in CO and my friend I'm playing with lives in Cali, so I switched to LA to match him. After doing that getting summoned was super easy. You might have to log into the game at the same time but it usually is instant. Just make sure you're opted into the steamworks beta.
Is it me or DS3 is not that much pretty than DS1? Don't kill me
is there any other way to play this game? [editline]17th October 2015[/editline] that's what I did on release too but I swear the bosses either had more health or the weapons did less damage
I wouldn't argue that using big fucking weapons and take full advantage of their staggering potential and their tendency to set the boss ready for a visceral attack is a very safe way to play Bloodborne, but using a skill or bloodtinge weapon and having mastered the art of parrying is also a good way to waltz through the game basically unscarred The deal with Ebrietas is that she's a boss where is nigh impossible to fuck around: you either learn to recognize her attack patterns and react accordingly to each or you are going to die. And even then there are a couple of attacks that will get you regardless due to how fucked up their radious is (that fucking charge attack, which in the later stages she performs while airborne)

Just make sure you are in the same download region and everything should be fine. edit:Was in San Jose dl region if that helps. There are also some areas where you just can't summon anyone or get invaded like ash lake and the great hollow.
DS3 looks way better than DS1. The art style is much closer to DS1 than Bloodborne or even DS2 so that's probably why they look so similar to you.
I guess I will buying that copy after all, can't hurt to try and if that doesn't work he can always play for himself (Even thought he gets frustrated easily). Once again thanks for replying to my post.
Uploaded the first of many footage I captured. Video's still processing, so HD may not be available 'till after a while. Video is currently unlisted as of this moment, so be mindful of who you share this with. oh maaaan trying not to be too jealous I didn't get in it's not working help
you should be super jelous
Guess the NDA don't mean shit 'cuz tons of people are uploading videos of the stress test on YouTube, including people like Oroboro.
im going to blow you in about 2 secs [editline]17th October 2015[/editline] and then backstab you and take your ps4 and play it ALL FOR MYSELF
Man, it's super depressing having the leaked client on my ps4 but being rejected in the lottery. The game looks so good. Seeing people selling their whitelist is really frustrating to see. I should have signed up for a Japanese Key too. But I didn't want to take that away from anyone when I was signing up for the lottery. Oh well.
Next video is up. This one's about 3 or 4 videos combined. Trimmed a lot of fat so there'd be nothing but meaningful content instead of pointless running around and dying. Still processing, so HD may not available for a lil' while. Still have more videos to upload, but I think I'll do the rest after I sleep.
this man did a double backstab

Shit took ages before even with the same region being Pakistan or something, but for some reason after getting the mod we(and people who originally told us about it) never had much trouble finding our signs. We have to wait a minute at most, but usually it's instantaneous It was as miraculous as it sounds
Can I say that Dancer has quite a backside? :v:
