Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

So,while waiting for to be selected(and i was) for network test, i have decided to do SL1 solo run in DS1.
And honestly i expected base game to be harder, out of all bosses in the base game were O&S giving me a hard time because each other would interfering me, and i really hated Smough's running attack; Four Kings and Nito (mostly because skeletons) were a bit hard as well.
But what about AoTA's bosses, base game bosses were nothing to them. And jesus christ, fuck Artorias, his unpredictability and his Somersault slam attack were giving me a hard time ,it took me like 2-3 days to beat him, for Manus it has taken me same time to beat, but for some reason he seemed more "fair", i given up on Kalameet and decided to cheese him, but that wasnt easy.
Overall, it took me 49 hours to beat it.
But that all aside, it was a good challenge, i might do it again at ng+. Not sure if want to do it in DS2.

I have been doing a sl1 run for the first time too and the AoTA bosses are definitely the most brutal. Artorias took me a little under 2 hours and I spent nearly 3 hours on Manus and gave up for the day because I was getting frustrated and was not making much progress. Good challenge though. Reminds me of my first playthrough in some ways.
I still hate fighting the cathedral hunter.
I wonder if they intentionally made him ~edgy~ looking. Blood katana, pistol that shoots TWO bullets, and literally teleports behind you. These are all the things that make me think, "pssh, nothing personal kid."
He was nearly impossible for me until I created a strategy that just makes the fight take a long time and be very risky instead of being impossible.
As soon as he sees you and starts chasing you, run back down the stairs to the door because he will very rarely go down all the way to bottom(but it has happened so keep on your toes) and just bait him into draining his own health. eventually he will use a blood vial so just keep making him do it. When his health gets low enough, he'll stop draining it and that's when it gets really risky because he still takes a lot of hits to kill but he'll still give you in one hit.
When fighting, he will always shoot you after rolling, he is susceptible to poison damage, and you can knock him down with beast roar, the hunter axe R2, and the burial blade R2 and you can stunlock him. He can also get stuck behind the church doors which you can attack through with some attacks(burial blade R2) and he can get stuck on the sides of the stairs where the statues are. It is a very useful to know exactly how far of a reach your weapon has and how long it takes for the R2 to come out and hit. He can also throw numbing mist at you so watch out

All this talk about the Cathedral hunter reminds me, I tried playing for the first time in months the other day, and ended up fighting the cathedral hunter with no vials. I wanna say this was NG+ or ++

As amusing as that as, I'm kind of glad they patched it and made him smart enough to not kill himself from full HP with his own Chikage.
DS2 sl1 isn't fun at all, dodging is really difficult with level 6 adaptability, there aren't many ways to get good damage output, and you reach your maximum power level really early.
Well, this and reading more about it made me not want to do sl1 run at all.
I hope DS3 wont be too hard in that.
Old gold; something I made in Flash for college. *Humanity Restored*
There were a bunch of issues due to some aspects of the engine being tied to framerate (the most noticeable issue were parry frames and durability). They might decide that fixing it at 30 is easier than addressing these issues. I'm hoping that's not the case though, 60fps souls feels so smooth and responsive.
There's no reason for a PC game in 2015 to be locked at 30FPS, and I hope there's a community backlash if they try to pull that.
Every time I feel playing Dark Souls is getting repetitive I remember there are many online ways to break the monotony thanks to the covenants. You know what feels nice? Defeating a boss. You know what feels better, help someone defeat that boss.
-snip-
You know what feels even better? Killing a healthy undead and then pillaging its humanity
Only if it has sinned. Killing innocent undead players isn't right. On the other hand, farming humanity by killing skeleton babies is cool and totally not weird in any shape or form.
last night i was sleep depreived and I was freaking out from all the noises the pots make in the shaded area in DS2, it's so fucking weeeird
Ok guys, I decided to pick up the game and I've been playing it for a couple of hours now and finally took down the first boss, the Cleric one. Now I'm kinda stuck and I've been running around for hours, not sure where to go next?
cross the bridge with the flaming ball trap
Is Magus and his group sort of the Pinwheel of Dark Souls 2? I literally walked in the room and breathed out and they all fell over.

Or go down to where the dog cages are (in the area where you meet the first brick giant, banging on the blocked doors, there's a hidden path towards the back and to the left from where you come in from the streets. Just keep heading directly forwards when you enter that area basically, left of the door with the cackling women behind it. Destroy some coffins and crates)
The other way to get down there is another hidden path, again behind some smashables - on the great bridge where you fight the Cleric beast, head to the complete opposite end of the bridge of the boss area and head right, down some stairs to reach an area that overlooks the road with the many villagers and the pyre
Do a 180 from the overlook and smash some stuff and you can go down into the sewers.

Yeah, Kinda. Pushovers if you don't get caught by the AoE dark pulse attack.
Added yet another boss to my list of bosses I've beaten on the first try. [sp]The spider creep[/sp]
You know what bosses I had the hardest time on in DS1 when I first played?
[sp]Almost all of them.[/sp]
You know what bosses I had the hardest time on in DS2 when I first played?
[sp]None of them.[/sp]
If DS1 was your first souls game, then that's probably why. Your first souls game tends to be the hardest. I had little problems with Dark Souls after Demon's Souls.
I didn't even pick up Demon's Souls until way after DS2 when my boyfriend came to visit. :v:
Demon's Souls was a gentle jaunt due to the unlimited healing items, for myself at least.
I always found it funny that people told me I was going to have a super hard time with the gargoyles when I first played. Beat them on my first try. :v:
O&S on the other hand are the only boss I've never beaten in a single try or solo for that matter. (Including Solaire)
I just noticed, why is the knight set locked off by a stone statue? It's not like the set is some high end gear or anything.

Eh? I thought Demons was limited healing items only, and you could permanently fuck up a save from poor resource usage.

yeah but you could farm estus basically

Nae, love, nae. You could purchase as much healing grass as you liked from vendors. Why, you could farm souls with ease in a certain area in the Shrine of Storms, and then right next to the location was Graverobber Blige, with unlimited grass in tow.
yeah but you could farm estus basically
Demon's Souls has no estus or estus-esque item.
