I think it was already confirmed that ascetics wouldn't be coming back, which would mean that enemies also have infinite spawns.
Thank god.
this is good and bad
it's only bad though if they aren't kind with good PVP areas. That's the biggest annoyance, clearing a room out just to lay a sign down or look at signs. I hope there are some very large PVP areas too.
I'll be jumping for fucking joy if they let us put dragon signs down in boss areas after clearing them
Ascetics are good since it doesn't technically force you to go to another cycle, it was an interesting and fun mechanic since respawning bosses were great but having limited respawn + rare set piece\weapon drop tied to limited respawn? That's the worst.
I mean then why not keep the infinite respawn system but have ascetics either just force the area into the next cycle or just respawn the boss.
that, or have finite cycles but ascetics that are dirty cheap and don't go into ng+ or ng+++++++++++
this way you'll have infinite farming, pretty much

Also higher quality Dark Souls III TGS trailer.

I'd have to say that Bloodborne got me more excited than the DSIII trailer (even when I don't own a PS4 and knowing Bloodborne won't come out for PC :suicide:), but I'm hoping it's just From Soft holding back on content until later.
I think that having limited spawns before the boss of an area is defeated and then having unlimited spawns after it is defeated is a good idea.
It's pretty much the best of both worlds, you eventually don't have to fight the same enemies over and over again if you're having trouble with a boss, but you can still come back to the area later in the game for example if there's an item you need to get from a particular enemy type that's only found in that area.

shame that people will just call it "~casual souls~", even though dark souls was never really that TERRIBLY HARD to boot.
it'd work out well enough too. Souls is about getting better from where you left off, but if you never improve then you shouldn't have to repeat the same mistakes.
holy fuck is that a FLAMING SLEDGEHAMMER
How is it the bloodborne trailer even though it seems to be 80% old shit gets me so hype because dlc

What do you mean? They showed a ton of new weapons, areas, and some new magic.
I think it's going to be a D2:LOD type of expansion since the new weapons were shown in old areas.
Did no one mention that the actual beastmode feature was actually implemented in the trailer? None of that "oh hurr when your bar goes higher you do more damage" but an actual transformation.

Oh, that's why nobody never transformed

That's probably because the DSIII trailer you posted is almost entirely footage we've already seen.

I remember reading somewhere that they're holding off showing the new locations from the trailer.

I'm really enjoying the improved multiplayer stuff in SotFS.
Playing as DIRK HARDPEC, with my friends as BOB SHARPSTICK and RELIGIOUS NUT.
Anyone got any screenshots of the new expansion? I want to confirm that my nightmares have been fully realized.
From the PS blog flickr.

Tough speculation, but those things all the way in the 2nd pic the back look like [sp]buildings in a spiral. I don't think you're in reality anymore. Nightmare realms, man.[/sp]
3rd pic confirms that my nightmares HAVE in fact been realized. I will go cry myself to sleep tonight knowing that I'll have to fight this "thing" on November.
FYI, this bad boy is Ludwig

With how committed the executioners were to doing their jobs, I wonder why they never killed Ludwig. Although if Alfred and speculation of the upper cathedral ward is any indication of their purpose, controlling the plague is something their 3rd objective with ascending and killing vilebloods being more important to them

Just rewatched the trailer and the part where they charge the saw blade and saw cleaver are intense because you know that's a very high risk attack
But how will you get to this nightmare world though? A special chalice? A hidden path in Byrgenwerth? How does a realm like that exist without it being like Mensis where they used an Umbilical cord and plunged a college into Mergo's realm? Poor Lugwig. So damn freaky that it's hard to keep looking at him. Wonder how he ended up like this since he's not the Cleric Beast like what the lore guys said.

Probably from one of the tombstones in the Hunter's Dream.
Most likely a new Tombstone leading to the Spiral Nightmare, since it don't look like a new Chalice Dungeon.
Alos Ludwig got FUCKED. UP. Which makes perfect sense since he was a Church Hunter of sorts, and Clerics tend to mutate into the most horrific of beasts.
There's a hatch in the floor in Byrgenwerth that doesn't open. If not a tombstone then that would be the best place to put it but it would be really inconvenient if you're like me and recently beat the game so byrgenwerth is just a few hours away if you rush it without caring about fun

You also HAVE to kill the college student that's there with the Rosmarinus and the cane whip. Even walking past the stairs without going up will aggro her. She's the worst hunter in the game if you suck at parrying; plus the bottom floor and above is really cramped, making her the only thing truly keeping your from getting to that hatch for possible DLC.
can anyone confirm that rerolling stats will still exist in ds3?

"You'll be able to re-spec your character, too, though Miyazaki has yet to determine whether the Soul Vessel will return as the item which facilitates respecialisation. 'I’m not sure if the same sort of item will be implemented, but there will be a method for players to re-assign souls,' he says."

She's actually a really fun and easy fight IMO. I've beat her my first try the past 2 times I faced her.
It's the hunter in the church that's fucking bullshit. Fuck that ridiculously high bloodtinge. At least I eventually figured out that he only fires his gun after rolling but even then it leaves no room for error.
The arena being cramped works against her too. It's so enjoyable getting a visceral in on her and throwing her body onto a stack of breakables.

Her whip is harder to predict for me. Can't tell what will be a good opening to shoot/parry her without the shot missing her or hitting her invinciblity frame. Never fought the Cainhurst knight, but Elieen's one handed sword mode was easier to predict imo. Plus I played "Battle of the Heroes" from RotS when I fought her. Will do "Duel of the Fates" or something equally epic for the Vileblood dude on my current playthrough.
The only way I defeated the Ash Hunter was by him rolling off the spire.
