Haven't seen this posted yet, if you're into collecting things or just want a guide for the new DLC, Future Press have put pre-orders up for their new one, which includes updated stuff for the original game. I was finally able to get past the fucking Blood-letting Beast. Fucker took me ages, then I go to fight [sp]Yharnam[/sp] at the end of the chalice dungeons and win on my second try. The only reason I even lost the first time was because I was listening to music and didn't know how the stun worked. A good day, managed to get the Platinum trophy. Now I just need to save up €20 for the expansion.
I'd really like to go do the chalice dungeons so I can fight all the other bosses but I really don't want to do all that grinding. It feels even more grindy because the dungeons all look the same despite them being technically different

Which means going into cursed, rotted, fetid dungeon to get cursed blood gems, so you just kill enemies for a while until you find something worth keeping. It's a shame, a lot of the bosses are really cool. You just have to fight most of them 2-3 times and the beast bosses are all fucking awful, either relying on status effects or quick AoE attacks. It probably would have been better to half as many mandatory dungeons and using each boss once, and leaving the random dungeons as they are for people who just want random layouts.
My biggest issue with them so far is they all have crazy wombo combos with insane range/travel. Blood-starved Beast and frantically dodging backwards and to the sides comes to mind.
Decided to create a new character for coop and while I was walking in the church I found this: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/402305231591110774/A917C42668D1649CA3F834E87059835FC430F419/[/t] Then I found 2 more of those things in the same area and then I found another in the catacombs in another character: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/402305231591113299/448E770BDECE6A2925CBE9413ADE1C36DDB76CC7/[/t] I like how even I have more of 160 hours in the game and yet it keeps giving me surprises and new things to find.
I have over 500 hours in the game and I've only ever seen one of those.

I'm setting at like, 600 hours between PS3 and PC, and I've ever seen a single one. Here's what they are http://darksouls.wikidot.com/vagrant

They're really neat. They don't really give you anything or do much besides get in the way, but they're still great nonetheless and accentuate the "always connected" thingy.

They really work well for the way the game works by sharing info with friends, too. "Hey I found this weird egg monster!"
I remember when I ran into a vagrant on the infamous Anor Londo Shooting Gallery Dash™. It was the first one I had ever seen, and the half-second that I stopped running because of the "what the fuck is that" shock, I got caught in a stun-locking frenzy of greatarrows and vagrant energy blasts. Few things have so thoroughly confused me before. Good times.
Ready for the Old Hunters expansion (althought I'll most likely restart the game from scratch anyway)
I really hope the expansion scales with you. I don't want to just breeze past everything like I do going through a depth 1-2 dungeon
In other news I finally got Knight's Honor and with that the Dark Soul achievement now to feel free and enjoy doing whatever I want in Dark Souls.
I really hope the expansion scales with you. I don't want to just breeze past everything like I do going through a depth 1-2 dungeon
That's one of the reason I'm starting from scratch
That's one of the reason I'm starting from scratch
I'm at the beginning of NG+ with one character, and NG++ with another. I'm hoping it at least scales with that. Since it's a type of nightmare zone, maybe there will be some modifier like with dungeons to make it harder
Possible Spoilers When i played DS1 the first time and reached the tomb of the giants it was pretty depressing for me because it was so dark. So when i killed the pinwheel miniboss and climbed the ladders out of the real huge coffin where the fight took place i was now confronted with the dark...i continued to follow the glowing orbs when i reached a slope, then i saw those glowing eyes and thought "what the hell" i waited like 2-3 minutes to finally approach it because i was afraid haha. And then suddenly this huge ass skeleton started to attack me and i wasnt prepared for that and shat bricks. Dont get me started with those skeletons that walk on 4 legs and their breathing, it was horrible i literally screamed. Tomb of the giants in a nutshell. Let me tell about those 4 legged bastards. Like, you think you are handling very well and then those bastards starting having a seizure and start wiping your health with a few punches out of nowhere. Completely destroying you and asking yourself what just happened.
So I rang the second bell of awakening Who is this ugly snake freak in the firelink shrine and why is he here, is he gonna attack me if i walk in the room
So I rang the second bell of awakening Who is this ugly snake freak in the firelink shrine and why is he here, is he gonna attack me if i walk in the room
Talk to him, he will guide you in what do next and give you some info. Also you can "sell" items you don't need to him. I remember the first time I saw him, scared me a bit when I was walking and saw him there doing those noises. Also, he smell bad according to our funny friends that likes to mock us.

Lord of Cinder? That's exactly like Gwyn's title post-firey stuff.
Lord of Cinder? That's exactly like Gwyn's title post-firey stuff.
In theory, that could mean DS1 canon ending was light the fire and the original DS1 person is the new Lord of Cinder.
Yeah but they mention it as LordS of Cinder, implying that this is perhaps a late cycle and there were previous Lords that have been reborn. [editline]9th November 2015[/editline] Also is Red Knight really what we're calling him? Not like the Charred Warrior or Charred Undead or anything? [editline]9th November 2015[/editline] Also it's interesting to note that the Lord of Cinder there is a Giant instead of a Chosen Undead Human.
After desperately chasing Micolash, who's getting on my nerve running into the mirrors, somehow I accidentally cheesed him. I chased after him, but ended on a floor abover him, which overlooked him and a mirror. So I tried to shoot him. He was staggered, and teleport away, but immediately jumped out of the mirror next to him. Then I just keeps on throwing things at him. The process repeats itself that I dont have to move a step. When I ran out of tools, I just top it up with my blood bullet , that i have infinite supply due to my regen buff on my gun. Prey slaughtered?
Alright, the Shadows of Yarnham are pissing me off a whole lot. It's not even like they're hard overall, the fucking fire spewing guy is just an instant kill despite wearing the Charred set and it's fucking infuriating. [editline] waeff [/editline] Oh great, instant kill super homing spells from a regular Hunter. Amazing.
In theory, that could mean DS1 canon ending was light the fire and the original DS1 person is the new Lord of Cinder.
It looks like he's wearing Giant armor. It's true. The Legend really does never die.

Have you tried dodging the homing spell by moving in a circle around your target? It works on ebrietas but I've never fought a hunter that uses it

It doesn't help that it's a small area and the camera works against you.

Try to lure her downstairs and maybe use the staircase and desks for cover. She never gets to cast A Call Beyond when I fight her so maybe try to stay really close and cast beast roar to keep her down
