I'm glad the only thing I've been spoiled on is [sp]Ludwig's Second Form, where he uses his holy sword[/sp] I'm going in blind pretty much
So yeah, the Bloodborne wiki has now listed all the new stuff from the Old Hunters I've just visited the page to see the new attires and weapons and plan my definitive character out of them If someone was hoping the expansion would tweak the arcane stat into something viable, he/she'll be disappointed: while arcane builders finally get two dedicated weapons that scale perfectly with arcane, [sp]the Holy Moonlight Swor and the Parasite of Kos[/sp], there is only one new spell and it's nothing really thrilling I'm really intrigued by the new [sp]Rakuyo and Beasthunter Saif[/sp] weapons, so I'm guessing I'll have to reloll as a skill-based hunter I don't really like the majority of the new attires save from [sp]the Maria Hunter and the Old Hunter[/sp] sets For all of you who were speculating about the character featured on the cover, [sp]it's apparently a hunter of old, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower. She's a relative of queen Annalise and a student of Gehrman. If the flavor text of her armor set is anything to go by, the old fuck wanted to tap her, but she was oblivious about it[/sp]
Fuck. Micolash! That A-hole keeps spamming A Call Beyond on his second phase. I just lost 90k blood echoes just trying to avoid his arcane spells. He would never stop. I need at least one partner just to distract him, but they keep dying to his first phase tentacle attack.

When Micolash does A Call Beyond you can just shoot him.

[Editline] djsncbe [/editline] I also recommend Tonitrus because he's weak-ish against Bolt and you can easily stunlock him with it.
If you have high bloodtinge, you can just avoid 2nd phase altogether by gunning him down in his mirror-teleporting phase
its pretty easy to dodge. he telegraphs the heck out of it. all you gotta do is roll behind him and charge up his ass micolash easiest boss
Micolash is the joke boss of Bloodborne. You'd expect it to be the Celestial Emissary but that boss can actually be dangerous on NG+.
Maybe I'm just unlucky. That move is all he does. That or his punches that do no damage but stagger you out of attacking when you're close to him. I'll try what you guys said and see what happens. If I can beat him, I'll be at least ready for the DLC since I was late game with odd stats when the Artorias DLC hit.
I guess Bloodborne's Wikidot is abandoned 'cuz there is only one new entry from patch 1.07 and that was from me. :v: http://bloodborne.wikidot.com/madaras-whistle Look at this, only one new article since the patch and I had to do it myself. I honestly prefer Wikidot over Fextralife any day 'cuz it doesn't bullshit around with pointless biased gibberish and just gets straight to the facts. Not to mention Fextralife is buggy as fuck and doesn't even work half the time on mobile phones. But at this rate I guess I'll have to be forced to refer to Fextralife as a main source of reference.

One thing those games did, that helped offset the whole "spend hours making a pretty face, have it covered up by a helmet for 40+ hours" problem, was having the option to not render headgear, so you could wear a powerful helmet but in-game you'd have a free head without the hats or helmets covering everything up. I imagine having such an option in Souls games would only work in its favour. Although it would also be neat to have more good headgear that doesn't obfuscate the face or hair of the Chosen Undead/Hunter.
I don't even want to see my characters' faces. The headwear is awesome. I was rolling with the yharnam hunter garb and henryk's garb for most of the game. I only wear the cainhurst knights garb with a top hat because of how classy it is
I just had the amount of trick weapons in the DLC and I can almost not believe it, they [sp]nearly doubled the number of them, though only like seven offhand items[/sp]
dlc is activated in australia HERE WE GO
Not fair, we still have to wait until tomorrow Time to stop browsing this thread for a bit
found a super cool weapon in the first area (not spoiling the actual weapon, but it's a hint) [sp]it's literally the limb of a previous boss.[/sp] the attack animations are so cool i kinda want to bring it to +10 already, but i should probably wait and see what other weapons there are.
I'm being told that going around in Old Yharnam with a torch equipped makes the beasts there cover themselves in fear and trying to circle around you, given what happened to that part of town before the events of the game Can anyone confirm this?

So it's been a long while since I've played so I don't know if things have changed. Is Arcane a viable play style? I remember hearing it was very underpowered.
Currently running a possible strength and arcane build though I am early enough to change my mind, still though there's a particular weapon that I so desperately need to get
Moonlight Greatsword is confirmed strength/ arcane based, so I say stick with it.
Is Arcane a viable play style? I remember hearing it was very underpowered.
In the Old Hunters expansion you are given two weapons that (at last) scale well with arcane, but, as far as spells and such are concerned, you are given a new single trinket that shoots a little star-like projectile at your target This is my opinion here but no, even with the expansion relaying on arcane and the game's "magic" is just not worth it I'm starting to think that the whole approach the series has towards magic is just plain awful and doesn't offer any incentive in comparison to the other gameplay styles

Sounds like the new arcane Hunter Tool is just a carbon copy of Soul Arrow that eats your bullets to use.
Arcane is a good build against the enemies weak against arcane so you can run through silver beasts and the brainsuckers in high cathedral but it's just decent against everything else except for undead giants and maggots where you want high physical damage. It works but you can't really go wrong with high physical damage until you're fighting the brainsuckers in high cathedral ward but you can just use paper or the shell to buff your weapon
hopefully DS3 will deliver
It probably will, considering they now have a Mana bar this time, and many ways to use it.
hopefully DS3 will deliver
I'm 100% positive that it'll be fine even if there'll be some balance\exploit issues. I had fun using spells in DS2 and seeing the Greatsword magic in DS3 makes me feel much better.
Hopefully it doesn't fluctuate between aggressively broken and useless as it did in Demon's Souls, magic is all over the place in that game. You can annihilate bosses in seconds, or do literally 0 damage with your build at other times.
