Just got to[sp]Orphan of Kos, what a cool intro cutscene but damn how much health does this asshole have? First try I get him down to half near perfectly and I fuck up once and he kills me with one combo, 50 VIT Already I'm thinking I don't have the patience for this. At least I can sleep on it[/sp]
I just found out from trial and error that invaders can troll players really bad in the Research Lab. :v: There's a segment where you climb up high enough in the in the Lab and raise the staircase, but after you reach a certain point the only way to get back down is to jump down in the elevator shaft. But if you raise the elevator before the host has the chance to do that, they can't get down 'cuz they'll just fall into a bottomless pit if they try to jump down the shaft. You can potentially trap players permanently there until they finally decide to kill themselves. :v:
I spent 30 insight summoning help for Ludwig. [t]https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t31.0-8/12307924_10205896579586116_4112875118988530971_o.jpg[/t] I'm really good at dodging his attacks in the first stage now but he always combos me or gets me with his fucking 00 raiser blade. I'm done fighting this guy tonight. I'll just try again next weekend then I'll help 30 players kill him to make up for it

Aw yeah me and nighogg kicked the pants off of Ludwig
so the brain fluid lady in the old hunters DLC glitched me out by taking both the brain fluid i had in my inventory instead of just one so i can't progress through her story to get the key and the rune neat

Don't be afraid to sensually caress his legs with your weapon
Alright, my PSN is DoctorCeja. I'll try to beat him another time though. I spent this whole weekend trying to kill him and I'm burnt out on grinding for blood vials
For the second stage, just stay up his ass the whole time. Don't be afraid to sensually caress his legs with your weapon
The good 'ol Dark Souls logic of sticking your face straight up their butthole. :v:
I think FS caught on to that so they made Ludwig bounce around and kick backwards
Streaming some coop/ invasions in Bloodborne right now 'cuz I have nothing better to do. http://www.twitch.tv/nidbutt/
Simon's Bowblade is fucking trash, I can't see this thing ever being useful. I was so hyped for it too.
I can only shake at the thought of how much health [sp]Orphan of Kos[/sp] is going to have in NG+
How do you transfer footage you captured on your PS4 to your PC? :v: Is that even possible? I was too lazy and didn't capture any footage via capture card 'cuz I didn't want to waste hard drive space on mostly 80% failed invasions, so I relied on the PS4 to capture the footage instead. Got a really sweet invasion where I managed to completely destroy a 3v1 and the host ran off to play hide-and-seek for 15 minutes straight before I found him.
you can use a usb stick or hdd
So my little brother got his hands on a PS4 and I finally got to play Bloodborne. Have to say, it's a much nicer experience than watching others play it, which is all I've managed to do until now. Killed Gascoigne, the Cleric and Blood-Starved Beasts, and the witches, but haven't yet engaged Amelia. Want to see how much I can accomplish before the night gets darker. Finally got my hands on Ludwig's Holy Blade (Had to look up a guide) and that was as far as I got before he kicked me out of his room for the night :V
Killed Gascoigne, the Cleric and Blood-Starved Beasts, and the witches
That's an impressive kill streak
why use a guide on your first playthrough
why use a guide on your first playthrough
Because I never expected to get the opportunity to play Bloodborne, having not owned a PS4. So I'm already spoiled to the nth degree. Watched way too many playthroughs. [editline]30th November 2015[/editline]
That's an impressive kill streak
I can't honestly say it was a kill streak. I just threw myself at them again and again until they fell over before I did :V Still have to get the hang of this game.
Should I tackle the DLC first on my NG+ character or wait and level up my new NG character? I kind of just want to try it now on the NG+ one which is ready to tackle it - but feel like may not be as good an experience?

Lore question regarding the Old Hunters It was enstablished by the developer himself that the skull you examine in the Grand Cathedral after defeating Amelia was indeed [sp]Laurence's[/sp] and his boss form was the headless Bloodletting Beast (or something) from a calice dungeon That said, how does that fit with his DLC appearence?

Maybe their physical body is not there. Chalice dungeon is a fucked up salad bowl so dont expect coherent reasonings from what happened there.

For example it heavily implies that you fight [sp]Amelia[/sp] with another enemy in the Hunter's Nightmare before picking up the skull. I think the best way is to compare with Micolash, while he is the host of the Mensis' Nightmare, his body was dead for a long time, the appearance can drastically change between these 2 worlds. But i'm not a fan of this kind of lore, there are way too many speculations to think on this.
Even though Micolash is called the host, but I dont think the nightmare was conjured by Micolash himself. More like Mensis used the power of a great one, probably Mergo, to bring forth the nightmare. I think Micolash is only a host in a sense of, like, a celebrity being a host to a game show. Its like Mensis gaimed audience with Mergo, and Micolash as a Mensis leader, is scheming things in the nightmare as a host, and everybody else is a game show participants.

Killing her at least gives you the key though. Apparently she's very glitchy, I've seen a lot of comments saying multiple ways that she's glitched out so they can't progress. There doesn't appear to be any other way to get the rune either, hopefully I'll have better luck on ng+ or a different character...

I don't recall Miyazaki ever saying this part. And I don't know if I would consider anything that happens in the dungeons as canon. In my opinion, all that remains of [sp]Laurence[/sp] is his skull that we find after Amelia, and his soul lives on in the Hunter's Nightmare, much like how Micolash is dead in the real world but continues to live on as a host in the Nightmare of Mensis.

[sp]Laurence[/sp] is the first Vicar of the Healing Church, but somewhere down the timeline he got sent to the Hunter's Nightmare and became the flaming Cleric Beast. When he dies in the Nightmare as someone comes along to kill him, his skull is moved to the physical realm. It looks too narrow to be The Bloodletting Beast's skull imo as someone who compared the skull to the beasts own head. It's found later on by the church and worshiped with Amelia as the new Vicar. Borrowing from Dark Souls, The Hunter's Nightmare has no place in the timeline, and the time when someone picks it up is convoluted. He's still looked up to as the Father Comstock of Bloodborne whether he was alive or not. I think the mixture of beast blood and insight is what caused the transformation and the Beasthood that sent his soul there in the first place. Either that or [sp]Laurence[/sp] turned into the Bloodletting Beast while exploring the dungeons, got his head sliced off by someone with him, presumably [sp]Ludwig,[/sp] and took the head back to the Cathedral before being sent to the Hunter's Nightmare. Or Specualtion C, [sp]Laurence in the Nightmare is just a figment of Maria's conjuration of the whole realm as with everyone else reminiscent of the hunts of yore just to guard the Fishing Hamlet.[/sp] Except for Ludwing and some of the other hunter NPCs, [sp]they really were blood-drunk and the realm made them mad.[/sp] All that matters is that when we touched that skull, something happened on the other side.
