Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

Yeah the OSTs are amazing. First half of Orphan of Kos is my favourite, so subtle that I didn't hear a single note during the fight but listening after it's so beautifully melancholy (the violins are my favourite). Completely epitomises the backstory of the boss that I was totally raging at when I was actually fighting him

Laurence's is good as well, dat organ, makes it feel like classic horror. Also the violins again at 4:50. Living failures is amazing thanks to trumpets. And really both phases of Ludwig's OST should be listened to in succession to hear the transition and the two themes juxtaposed. Don't know why people said his first phase is harder than the second, I had way more trouble with phase 2
You can blatantly hack and nothing will ever happen to you. The only time you get softbanned is if you attempt to change your soul memory or your character's save file, which automatically flags you. But doing hacks like infinite health, duplicating items, or crazy customized weapon/ spells won't trigger it because they're not tied to the character's soul memory or save file.
Easy softbans are also disconnections during PvP. Pretty much remember that majority of you guys warned me about it when i was chickening out.
I just started The Old Hunters, hot damn is it hard for a level 40. I figured it unlocked after Amelia because someone who can beat Amelia should be able to do at least the beginning. I've just been gitting gud to get through it, but I feel like I'm not really experiencing it when I run past a lot of enemies lol.
Yeah, the recommended level range is like 80-100 with at least +7 for most areas. Even then though, you'll be running past most enemies because they're annoying as shit to fight.

That's different. The game just temporarily shuts off co-op as punishment for doing that while increasing your chance of getting invaded. Basically a big "fuck you". But you can just use a Bone of Order and it'll reset everything back to normal.
I'm doing my first run of the dlc at lvl 109 NG+ and it is hard indeed; especially the bosses

how viable is the beasthunters saif? I just found it the other day and it has a beautiful moveset but I don't know if it would replace my saw spear. those animations are top notch
Beasthunter's saif is incredible in pvp because it has a gap closer on its regular attack and also a backstep on its transform attack (no invinc frames but it's still a backstep to create some distance). It also scales on both Skill and Strength but scales more on Skill. Also unlike the Burial Blade it can be enchanted with elemental paper/empty shell.

So if I were to use inf durability I'd be ok?

you sold me
The OST is amazing! Ludwig being the 1st of my top boss fight themes. Amazing transition and love part 2. The Living Failures is good too. It's like a love letter to Mars-The Bringer of War. Haven't heard Maria's yet for the boss fight since I haven't fought her yet. Will kill that Gatling Gun Hunter 1st.
Have they released the soundtrack for The Old Hunters? I have the Bloodborne OST and would like to add to that collection.

Oops I didn't realize it only has an E in Str but still. Being able to enchant it is amazing. Rakuyo is also a direct upgrade to blade of mercy.
Here's another beasthunter saif pvp video from another player. He has a whole playlist of pvp of almost every dlc weapon so far.

I got Simon's Bowblade for my Skill/Bloodtinge build.
Shame scaling is just kinda fucked on NG+ goddamn why did I kill the final boss on this character? This isn't fun.
So, way back on my first playthrough, I didn't know the game would immediately jump into NG+ after the final boss, and so I never got the blood rock.
Is going into NG+ without a +10 weapon at level 79 bad?

You can make up for it with blood gems but you'll always be wishing to do more damage
I finally got the damn beast claws! Now all that's left is Gherman's Scythe for the All Trick Weapons trophy. After that it's beating all of the bosses, including Yharnam herself. Shouldn't be too hard...right? Right?!
Edit: Just realized that I need all of the firearms too. Damn it!
mm, if ace combat 7 ends up being PS4 exclusive I might have to bring my PS4 purchase schedule forwards and get bloodborne too. that music is pretty great.
I've accidently stumbled upon Vicar Amelia and I can't help but think the fight would be a lot easier if you could actually see her half the time you're fighting her. She seems to be the same as most bosses (sans heal), in that behind her is the safest place. But it's hard to tell what kind of attack she's about to perform when it looks like someone's thrown five loo-roll's into a fan.
I was trying to fight the machine gunner on the tower and my parties were doing 145 damage, I could barely see his health bar move, is this normal on first play through, should I be that weak?
yes
I've been playing the dlc for the first time on new game + because it's my only farthest character. I've actually had no trouble . But Fuck me [sp] Ludwig the accursed [/sp] has been murdering me every time after the first phase. Anyone have any advise?

Only way I've been able to take him out is by getting him to throw himself off the tower while I laugh viciously.

Use Beast Hunting weapons like the Saw Cleaver and fire for bonus damage against him since he counts as a beast. Score two hits before backing up. Never stay close to him because he will knock you down. When he does that leaping strike that takes seconds to do, keep running or rolling to avoid it. He's also weak to arcane. Good luck!
Unrelated, but I managed to kill the Blood Starved Beast in Ailing Loran Layer 2 on level 86. I think that's how far I'll go in the Dungeons for now until NG+ now that I have my Beast Claws.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I have my [sp]Holy Moonlight Sword[/sp] to +7 with STR/Phys Bloodgems and I have STR at 26 and Arcane at 20. Are these good for stats, or should I keep going to +10 and beef up my Arcane?

Believe it or not you'll probably get more bang for your buck (or stats in this case) by leveling up dex, arcane and dex have roughly the same scaling and physical damage is usually the better stat to enhance.

Whenever I get tired of playing Demon's over and over, I have Wulf2k9's videos.

Isn't the [sp]Holy Moonlight Sword[/sp] was a strength/arcane weapon? My Dex/Skill is at least 19, with the weapon now at +8.

Prepare to go through absolute hell once you get deeper into the chalice dungeons, especially defiled chalice
I don't think I've ever faced such a test
edit: I remember when I was deep in the dungeons. That feeling of isolation, claustrophobia and darkness
I don't think I've ever experienced that spelunking-type feeling you get with CDs in Bloodborne with any other game

Well the MLGS still has the potential to be stupidly powerful even if you focus more on arcane than anything else.

Got mine up to 761 AR with 25 strength, 40 arcane, and nourishing blood gems.

HP gradually depletes and weapon durability down, nah no thanks.
That -8 HP one is pretty noticeable, don't bother with it.

Not when you have 1800+ HP like me. :v: Worth it when I can slap people's shit silly in like 3 hits. Not like he can avoid it anyways since he's gonna' have no choice but to put on these kind of blood gems if he really wants to maximize damage.
