Smough did nothing wrong
I really hope the new levels in The Old Hunters are high level and scale with you or increase with difficulty the further you proceed(NG+. NG++). I just don't want fighting other hunters to be bullshit like the one in the cathedral, he's the only one I have to exploit to beat
Today I decided to step into some PvP and got wrecked pretty hard. I was expecting to get wrecked, but I had totally forgotten about how broken Soul Memory was for matchmaking. I wanted to get wrecked by people of higher skill than me, so that I could actually learn. What I got instead was a dude who killed me in two hits with his greatsword of some kind and then another dude whom applied three different buffs before the fight and killed me in three hits with his rapier. That was in the Blue Sentinels. Then I decided to join the Bell Keepers to see what happens. Only got invaded once by a gray phantom and got accidentally shot and killed by the dwarves. Not long after I got invaded by a red phantom and I thought that there'd finally be a decent fight, with us both having light armor and wielding an Uchigatana. Problem was that my hits only took 1/10 of the other players health while theirs would take 1/4 or even 1/3 of mine. I hope that FromSoftware would make a matchmaking system that takes into account the player's Soul-level and how upgraded the gear in their inventory is (gear stored in the item-box would not be counted).

Dark souls 1's online seems to be utterly dead, at least for me. Haven't gotten a single connection node for about two weeks now, and have tried a bunch of different download regions.

There's approximately the same amount of people playing SotFS as DS1, the matchmaking is just messed up in DS1. :/
DS3 is going back to the level based system of DS1.
Which was easily exploited, but at least it wasn't downright broken. I hope that they add something which takes gear in the players inventory into account. Or some kind of counter-measure to twink-builds. [editline]24th September 2015[/editline] I just realized that the name "Twink-Build" comes from twinkling titanite

Soul memory sounds better than soul level, I mean, I guess if you just constantly die and lose all your souls your invader were screwed but I'm not sure how its worse than picking up the game for the first time and constantly being slaughtered by trolls. I mean I guess NG+ gets kinda weird but at least new players get a chance to learn how to play [editline]24th September 2015[/editline] are the reskins in softs? I know its dumb but I liked the moonlight longsword.
Soul memory would have been better if it was off souls spent instead of souls earned. It would lower encounters with over geared players a bit, and you wouldn't end up with an inflated SM but under-powered character due to dying lots.

Doing the dragon covenant character again.

Maybe if it was like warframe where gear had a hidden quality level so you wouldnt see stuff like havels until you had decent equipment as well. Eh, it hardly matters, knowing fromsoft they'll just make the covenants even more pointless so theres less reason to invade.

Being brutally murdered by a dickwrath in a low level area was the best introduction to Dark Souls I've ever had. This is why DaS1 humanity was far better than DaS2 one. You knew the risk of going human but also was able to beat the game without a single invasion.
Beat Amygdala on my first try with my strength/arcane build. Strength/Blood build with the same weapon with the similar amount of damage? 15 tries somehow with farming blood vials. Either I had shitty luck, or she loved her arm swipes. Will move on to Cainhurst and then move on the the Hintertombs. Apparently the ghosts on the castle are non-aggressive and will only attack if you approach them or get tagged by a dart. Went through half the castle without triggering them and only heard their mournful cries. Wonder why they're so passive-aggressive?

I for one tend to spend more time in human form than as a hollow. Whereas in DaS1 there were more upsides to spending most of your time as a human raisin. [editline]25th September 2015[/editline] One thing which could work would be a Dickwraith covenant which would be more lenient on gear disparsity between the host and invader, but with a counter covenant which would work like the Blue Sentinels, but something to make the process more fluid. Seems like the relationship between Blue Apostles and Blue Sentinels was rather absent most of the time in DaS2. Well, not to mention how rare invasions are in the first place.
Did the blood starved beast in Bloodborne get buffed or something because I'm on my 8th try and this seems way harder than I remember.
Did the blood starved beast in Bloodborne get buffed or something because I'm on my 8th try and this seems way harder than I remember.
Sure you're just not getting careless with him because you've beat him so many times?
Edit 2: Based on my findings, I think Miyazaki wanted a legit romance for this game with the real doctor, but was cut at the last minute or just changed it to make people think that they could have an actual loving companion. Calling Doctor Love, I think my heart is broken. :wavey: [T]http://img01.deviantart.net/c936/i/2015/256/b/2/bloodborne_iosefka_romance_by_maddogsamureye-d99h5oy.png[/T]
Apparently my hunch was correct. According to the Future Press guide interview, Miyazaki wanted an option to keep the real Iosefka alive, but was shot down by the studio. This was probably an attempt to apply an actual romance subplot with her and help fight off the imposter, but my guess why it was denied because From Software wanted to keep the game bleak with a hint of false hope. This could also be related to Yuria from Demon's Souls(same VA too), who was also to have a romance plot, but time constraints had it removed from the game. Dialogue from her left hints about that removed sub-plot. Well shit From, maybe you should do the next game, Mind of Darkness. Doctor Love OTP would have been real, but instead we get "Doll Waifu" in which I'm honestly getting tired of.
Sure you're just not getting careless with him because you've beat him so many times?
Yeah that's basically what happened, I remembered his attacks don't cover his back or sides so I dodged towards him instead of away and beat him.
Man Miyazaki should just keep pushing for a romance subplot.
Man Miyazaki should just keep pushing for a romance subplot.
Romance subplots are fucking everywhere, LITERALLY everywhere It's annoying and redundant, I'm glad the Souls series has none of that shit
Romance subplots are fucking everywhere, LITERALLY everywhere It's annoying and redundant, I'm glad the Souls series has none of that shit
Someone's had their heart broken  In all seriousness, I do agree: The Souls series in no real place for romance. The whole game is about killing all hopes and dreams. Even if there was one, it'd probably end. Terribly.

If Miyazaki were to do a romance plot, it should be made hidden like the NPCs or a hidden area and have it only one character to focus on. No love triangle BS or "liar revealed" cliches. Your character doesn't have to say a word and yet it will still work. Edit: Iosefka was the perfect set-up for one imo, since the TRUE Iosefka is greatly forgotten for the imposter after fighting Gascoigne. Yuria from DS was a good one too, since you had to backtrack to the beginning of the second stage after getting the key.
