Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

Has anyone have their PS4 just auto-delete their games? Tried playing Bloodborne today after not playing for a few days and I had to re-download it.
Well I guess Henryk got some sort of fucking "guy about to lose uses his ultimate attack at the last moment" shit because I sprinted all the way to his and crow's fight which I'm sure had only started when I got there since he had a full health bar and I saw crow didn't get hit much by me or Henryk at all.
And then he goes pop pop lollipop and straight up caps crow with a bullet and she dies
Goddammit
Do you still fight Crow of Cainhurst if Eileen dies? Will you even still get the hunter of hunters rune? It's the best one IMO
I don't think that part of the questline even happens if Eileen is dead.

If Eileen dies the quest ends. If you don't talk to her before you kill Amelia, the next time you see her she will be in the Church instead and you fight her.
I mean she will be in the church instead of the Cainhurst hunter.
So Blade of Mercy scales with arcane.
If I'm 40 arcane and 24 skill, which version should I use?
What gems should I use?

Oh look, my old post is relevant again. :v:
I know this is like a whole day late, but Cursed Nourishing Damp Blood Gems are easily the TOP best blood gems you can get for split-damage weapons. And when I say split damage, I mean weapons that do more than just physical damage like arcane weapons (Burial Blade, Blade of Mercy, MLGS, etc.) and elemental weapons (Tonitrus, Boom Hammer, etc.). Bloodtinge weapons are exempt because regular tempering blood gems, for some odd reason, boosts both physical and bloodtinge damage for them, so nourishing blood gems isn't necessary for those weapons.
While Tempering Blood Gems (the most common) boost only physical damage, Nourishing Blood Gems boost ALL types of damage, so split-damage weapons benefit best from these. For example, I went back to my old outdated and neglected skill/ arcane build that I made ages ago and removed all my old tempering blood gems (back when I had no idea how blood gems worked) and replaced them all with nourishing blood gems. AR instantly increased on my Blade of Mercy from a whimpy 339 AR to a bullshit OP 500 AR.
Unfortunately, Cursed Nourishing Damp Blood Gems are one of the hardest blood gems to farm because they specifically drop only from Cursed, Rotted and Fetid Lv. 5 Chalice Dungeon bosses Amygdala and Rom, and those two are dedicated as Layer 3 and 4 bosses only. So you have to bust your ass through an entire dungeon just to fight these guys and then rely on pure luck for them to drop a blood gem that has good stats. The shape of the blood gem also depends on the type of dungeon you're in. Waning blood gems are unique to Loran dungeons only and Triangular blood gems are unique to Isz dungeons only. So if you fought Amygdala in a Loran dungeon, for example, it would drop a Waning-type Cursed Nourishing Damp or Abyssal Blood Gem (abyssal being the highest rarity compared to the damp classification).
Now if you want a Cursed Nourishing Damp or Abyssal Blood Gem that boosts above the 20% point, they are exclusive to Amygdala and Rom only. However, after a lot of trial and error, I learned that there is only ONE enemy in the entire game that CAN drop Cursed Nourishing Damp Blood Gems that can get close to 19% but never over 20%, so they would be the easiest way to farm one of the best blood gems without having to bust your ass through a whole dungeon to fight Layer 3/4 bosses for them. You'll never get blood gems over 20% or the rarer Abyssal quality, but at least this alternative will come very close and are practically equally as good.
pwmf22gu - Cursed, Rotted, and Fetid Root Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice
This is generally considered one of the best root dungeons used for farming. Layer 1's boss are the 3 Watchers and are used to farm some of the best Cursed Tempering Damp Blood Gems in the game. But Layer 2 is where we'll focus on.
On Layer 2, literally in the next room from the lamp, there is a single gargoyle that has a chance to drop these valuable Cursed Nourishing Damp Blood Gems. This is my go-to place to farm all my blood gems for my arcane builds. This gargoyle mostly drops only Radial type blood gems, so it's best if you stick with arcane or elemental weapons that use two radial gem slots. He HAS dropped a Triangular type before, but this has only happened once to me and I've farmed this fucker for HOURS, so I wouldn't rely on him for farming triangular types. He also occasionally drops Blood Chunks as well, way more often than the werewolves at the Upper Cathedral Ward, and with him being so close to the lamp, it's incredibly quick and easy to farm him. Spawn in, kill gargoyle, use Bold Hunter's Mark to warp back, then repeat.
Now unfortunately, as I said earlier, he mostly only drops the radial types. So you'll still have to resort to farming Amygdala and Rom for the triangular and waning types, which is a huge pain in the ass. The gargoyle HAS dropped a triangular one before, but he's only done it once for me and I've farmed him for so many hours it's practically not worth it. You're better off just fighting Amygdala and Rom since they're guaranteed to drop them.
Anyways, I hope this helps everyone. :v:
[editline]oh right[/editline]
Oh, and to add on about the Kos Parasite, due to the fact that this scales with arcane ONLY, this weapon is probably one of the few circumstances where flat Arcane blood gems might actually work better than nourishing blood gems. I have yet to actually test the weapon myself yet, so I'm not sure. But blood gems that boost only arcane tend to boost arcane much higher than nourishing ones do, so Kos Parasite might benefit from those better.
I just got a PS4 and Bloodborne for Christmas!
Now if only I could get this PSN verification email. ;_;

The arcane scaling is only for certain attacks and the arcane scaling is shit anyways.
So in the fishing hamlet, how do I beat the hunter on the rooftops that has what I assume is the bloodletter? I can't parry his attacks and he blocks my physical attacks.
Fuck the giant shark fishermen. Whose idea was it to give the heavy hitting enemies extremely good tracking?
You have some options. As soon as you hear the bell, rush him and don't let him drink.
If you let him drink just stay a bit far, either make a fully charged attack or some attack with a weapon that staggers or wait for his spammy move.
He doesn't stop swinging that thing so timing with a gun shot should help plus he doesn't have much health.
this hunter with a chain gun is fucking my ass right now
i climbed up to his perch and he shotgunned me into next week
it feels so good to play a game where i am constantly getting absolutely wrecked
The first time I fought Djura I must have scared the shit out of him since he rolled himself right off the building.

If he drinks the lead elixir you can't parry him until it wears off.
well i figured i should probably do cathedral ward before old yarnham so now im getting destroyed by vicar amelias claw combo
are there any tips for her other than summon phantom?
Stick to her sides, side dodge her overhead, back or forward dodge most of her swipes, use Numbing Mist or stay close or she'll heal. Use fire cause she's a beast. Otherwise do what i do, try 7 or so times and then summon, no shame in needing assistance.

When he drank lead elixir I parried him, in fact it was the only way I could do any damage to him because my saw cleaver's attacks just bounced off.

If you hit her arms or legs you can break them, stunning her shortly and reducing her moveset. She can heal from this without restoring her health, but that just means you can break them again. This applies to a few other bosses too.

I noticed that damaging her arms and legs seemed to break them or something, and she had to take time to clutch a pendant and it glowed red or something. She didn't heal doing this, but it was a free few hits.
I managed to beat Mergo's Wet Nurse on my second attempt, that darkness phase is an absolute bastard. I know I'm nearly locked into the end of the game now, so I'm trying to beat Cainhurst before I do. Logarius is a weird old bastard, what looks like an attack isn't, it's just a spell-casting animation and what looks like a spell ends up being a four-hit sword combo. He seems to have massive opportunities to parry him in his second phase, the hard bit is reaching it without getting skull-bombed into oblivion.

Pretty sure hitting her head staggers her too. The overhand swings the Hunter's Axe came in real handy for that.
when does pvp start showing up in bloodborne? i've just beaten the shadows of yharnam and haven't seen any invaders
when does pvp start showing up in bloodborne? i've just beaten the shadows of yharnam and haven't seen any invaders
A sinister bell has to be rung in your world for it to happen. When you ring a beckoning bell for help and a cooperator shows up, it also spawns a bell maiden that rings a sinister bell that allows invaders to come to your world.
There are 2 locations in the game with bell maidens already there but I won't spoil it because it is fucking nuts when a shitload of people show up to murder you
So i just picked up Dark Souls 2 from the steam winter sale, only ever played Demon Souls, Any tips you could give me?
So i just picked up Dark Souls 2 from the steam winter sale, only ever played Demon Souls, Any tips you could give me?
Dark Souls is literally Demon;s Souls but easier
Dark Souls is literally Demon;s Souls but easier
I think Dark Souls is harder than Demon's Souls but also fairer. You don't have shit like enemies who can sprint and roll in a swamp where you can do neither. That's not hard, it's just unfair. The general enemies in Dark Souls are much more competent at actually attacking the player, where in Demon's Souls they would take forever to do anything so you could kill most of them before they ever attacked.

Even though our attack bounces, but the damage is all there. Just hit and run.
And when the lead elixir effect wears off, you can just stunlock him to death with saw cleaver.
I actually just beat him. I rushed him before he could drink the lead elixir and I stunlocked him with the kirkhammer silver sword and the beast roar.
It was fucking bullshit because I had him at such low health that just breathing on him would kill him and he was in a corner but then I got killed by lightning and screamed and threw a flurry of punches into my bed.
I tried it again only this time I caught the lightning thing in the blows and killed it but luckily I have high bloodtinge so when the hunter knocked me back, I finished him off with my evelyn.

Huh that's weird. Whenever he drank the lead elixir I absolutely could not parry him no matter what.

expert tip: you really should play 1 first
expert tip: you really should play 1 first
Seconded, DS2 is pretty much "HEY REMEMBER DS1: The Game"
Huh that's weird. Whenever he drank the lead elixir I absolutely could not parry him no matter what.
I think he means he parried the elixir drinking.
You can parry an opponent as they drink a blood vial or something but I never managed to pull it off

A member here made a video of him destroying people in PvP with it because nobody knew you could do it and nobody knew how to pull it off
