Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VII. Now Only Embers Remain

No, I parried him after he drank. I've never managed to parry someone while they use an item.
Dark Souls is literally Demon;s Souls but easier
Lmfao what
I didn't play much of Demon's Souls but if anything that game was straight up unbalanced and that's the only reason why it got difficult; NPCs not behaving by the same rules you had to play by was one of the biggest things that I noticed.
Dark Souls 1 was ten times more carefully balanced as far as the PvE experience goes and it is as a result significantly more enjoyable to play than, say, DS2, which frustrates the fuck out of me with rooms that literally have 6+ of the exact same dudes just charging at you all at the same time.
I gave up on Demon's Soul after one hour or so after the whole concept of "tendency" was explained to me
Haha why

But for real though, it's still worth a try. If your world tendency gets fucked to your disliking, just start a new file?
demon souls is still great but its basically a very unrefined dark souls
i would love to see a demon souls 2 now after From has a lot more experience with the Souls games

It's an additional gimmick I don't feel adds anything interesting to the table and, if anything, exists only to annoy the fuck out of me whenever I wish to do something specific or gain certain items

This. Brador can always be parried, even after using his Lead Elixir. Literally all that elixir does is prevent you from wailing on him carelessly. It doesn't even protect him either, he'll still take full damage from attacks. You just can't R1 spam, that's all.

As long we don't get an enemy like Old King Doran.
But yeah Demon's souls balance is the shittiest compared to the rest and i did all tendencies which says something.
when will we get demon souls compatibility on ps4 that is the question
ive only been able to play a couple of hours at a friends house
The fucking hunter you fight near Brador's cell that drops the church pick parried my beast roar
I had no idea that was possible.
That's risky as hell to do because if you're just a little too late, the bullet is reflected back at you
Demon's is super unrefined gameplay wise and for the most part you're fighting the stupid inventory load system more than the actual enemies. But honestly it's worth a play just because it has probably the best atmosphere in the series. I can't think of any fights later in the series that were as legit emotional as the Maiden Astraea fight.

gwyn imo
gwyn imo
That's fair. I mostly prefer Astraea because they actually speak to you in that fight and the dialogue kind of hit me pretty hard, but Gwyn is also an emotional fight in its own right!
they're emotional in different ways. astraea is because of the dialogue but gwyn is because of the music/significance of fighting him versus reality
I like that in Bloodborne, the NPCs are trying to make me stop killing beasts because I'm really just murdering people but it's not working because I really do enjoy the killing.

I'll totally stop the killing if Maria offered to be my waifu, instead of Djura greeting me with machine gun

[sp]Gehrman[/sp]
I feel more saddened about Garl than Astraea :v:
The G Man's dialogue genuinely upset me, tbh.

Geez that would be really nice but at least you can get a used ps3 for as low 90 bucks.
Also trying to find a new build anyone starting a new save that wants to play add me on psn ultimatekogyaru
I have a copy of Demon's Souls that my BF gave to me, but I can't be arsed to pull out my PS3 from the dusty residence that is my closet. I really wish they would just make it downloadable for the PS4.

it would be so much easier if there was backwards compatibility, its a shame that that cant exist because of technical reasons

I'm not even sure how you would even manage to have anything but white to pure white tendency unless you went out of your way.
I think world tendency is stupid, but unless you look at the wiki and read up on it you'd never even notice it.

I myself am bothered that it makes some really interesting weapons difficult to nigh-impossible to attain. I never will get to play with the Istarelle.
It fucking sucks to be doing well on [sp]Ludwig's first form[/sp] and then he does his [sp]near-instant kill charge attack[/sp] and he [sp]clips you with the very edge of his side[/sp] and kills you.

yeah his second form is some bullshit because of how wide his attacks are. Just dodge everything as it comes at you.
Also when he raises his sword pointing up, avoid the initial AOE then close in and get up in his ass. and just go crazy on him
How are you guys having trouble on his 2nd form? It's a hell of a lot easier than his first form because his attacks are actually readable.
Don't remember talking about his second form at all, just how bullshit his [sp]charge attack[/sp] is since there isn't much readability as to if you're out of the way at all.
Half of his sword slashes completely miss as long as you're digging your face in his asshole. Second form is piss easy compared to his first form.
His charge attack is easy as hell to avoid too, btw. He always claws the ground first before taking the leap, making it very obvious when he's about to do it. And right as he's about to take the leap, just dodge left or right while locked on and the invincibility frames will ignore the charge's hitbox.

He will always bow his head before charging, and yell right when he starts to charge.

I know the tell about when he'll start his charge, I know that "dodge left = ezpz", it's just that several times it felt like I was out of the way of his charge and still ended up being clipped by him, which killed me.
