Is it possible to play through Bloodborne in a week? Like 7-8 hours a day? I will be able to play it but I can only borrow the console for a week from a friend.
it is not a long game. depends on how much you like exploring and whether or not you complete all the chalice dungeons really
So I have hundreds of hours in souls games across the board (the least in DaS2) and today I decided to force myself to play SotFS and managed to get stunlocked and die to a halberd soldier group despite being in the middle of a roll. My experience from all other souls games and Bloodborne fell away as the steam achievement notification popped up, "welcome to dark souls". Suddenly, visions of the shrine of Amana, infinite stamina drakekeepers, the bullshit NPC invaders and all the other shit DS2 throws at you later in the game flashed in front of my eyes, along with all the comments of people saying the groups of enemies are even more bullshit in scholar. How people can find this game fun I don't know Yeah, probably never playing it again. Such a shame the game's design is intrinsically flawed, there's so much content along with the DLCs, and I get sentimental thinking back to the first time I played, but thank fuck they're building on the gameplay from BB and DS1 for DS3. It can't come soon enough edit: salty pageking
You're pretty much 100% correct but that hasn't stopped me from beating Dark Souls 2 like 6 times. It's still a very fun game, you've just got to accept the fact that everything is stacked against you and that, unlike in DS1, if something goes right/wrong it isn't in any way shape or form indicative of your skill, moreso your luck. This seems shitty, but there's a reason why people like to play Hearthstone. When you do that, when you transcend giving a fuck about things, the game is ten times more fun.

Dying in Dark Souls 2 has everything to do with skill and nothing to do with luck most of the time - It's just not a fair game in the same sense that Dark Souls 1 was, and you probably can't play DS2 the same way and expect to be successful.

IMO skill still matters, only considerably less compared to DS1. I'd like to say I've learned everything in DS2 now and have like 5 or 6 deaths per playthrough instead of 30-35 on my first ever run through the game, but in DS1 when I learned everything I just straight up didn't die at all. But for a first runthrough, the game feels almost entirely luck based and even some NPCs persist that sense of "well I just got lucky/unlucky"; Desert Sorceress have two attacks they can do in close range, they're both instant and one oneshots you through shields regardless of your health or armor while the other is just a Combustion that deals 1/2 of your health. Who's to say which one she's gonna cast?
never been this turned on in my entire life
What resolution does bloodborne run at? I remember playing GTA V on my 360 with my 1080 p monitor and it looking like ass. I wanna try running next gen stuff on it but I dunno if it would look any good.
the monitor on the right is 1920x1080 and appears to be running great looks good, sounds good, runs good
What program should I be using if I wanted to make a ps4 controller work with ds1/ds2? https://inputmapper.com/ looks good, but with rumors about joypad software being infested with malware i'm a bit wary.
ds4windows
ds4windows
Speaking of this, I had issues with it. It wouldn't recognise my analogue sticks at all. Anyone know what the issue would be with that?
Speaking of this, I had issues with it. It wouldn't recognise my analogue sticks at all. Anyone know what the issue would be with that?
you need DS4 to xinput mapper too
Speaking of this, I had issues with it. It wouldn't recognise my analogue sticks at all. Anyone know what the issue would be with that?
That's a weird issue. When I plug my DS4 to PC, it picks it as a wireless controller with completely silly controller style. DS4Windows makes a virtual controller that p much is an x360, and removes the original wireless controller so you dont have 2 controllers that do the same thing. I've had literally 0 issues with DS4Windows which is a great fucking thing compared to having to suck ten thousand dicks and grind my asshole through miles of glass shards while having literal adware under the guise of a ds3 driver. Does your "wireless controller" position have everything working?

It's rarer to find a PS4 game that doesn't run at 1080p than it is to find the opposite. Framerates are another question however, still averaging something near 30 for non-first party titles.

When you do that, when you transcend giving a fuck about things, the game is ten times more fun.
One of the best aspects of the souls games are their variable difficulty. You can make the game very easy if you hang back and throw knives all day, or use magic/ranged or just farm souls, or you can make the game harder by trying to progress ahead of your character's progression curve or limiting your equipment/not bothering to gear up properly. My problem with DaS2 is that that margin is SO small. You have to be at the top of your shit at all times, or you die and that's no fun. The muddy controls, crap movesets and ADP compound this, and you end up with a game that feels shockingly bad to play after Bloodborne and even DaS1. One example is the mace - I got killed last night because I swung at an enemy an arm's length away and missed him, then rolled away and got hit mid roll. In DaS3 the animation is a step forwards and a horizontal swing, but in DS2 you barely go anywhere and swing steeply diagonal which can easily miss an enemy right next to you. It just feels so slooooooowwwww. I don't have the patience for it and I simply can't delude myself into accepting that it's somehow good that this game is unfair, when DS1 was built so strongly on that formula of fairness
..20 at the lowest some times from what people have tested. .
It can drop to 20 and lower during the Loran Camerabeast fight, and the early game mob area, other than that its mostly a solid 30.
It can drop to 20 and lower during the Loran Camerabeast fight, and the early game mob area, other than that its mostly a solid 30.
Ohh that's unpleasant. I suppose a lot of testing was done in specific areas that they assumed would hurt more than they really did. The bosses in the game are so immense that if the frame rate didn't drop I'd be fucking astonished. All that hair and shit. So cool.
im doing a test stream right now twitch.tv/kingofspace1 if anyone has some time could they tell me why gascoine is continuing to give me the d
Yeah, I was blown away (sometimes literally) in the Darkbeast Paarl fight. The lighting and hair was awesome.
holy shit Made a new character to play with my friend Fighting Ornstein&Smough solo at 14str and 23dex with an estoc is not easy :x
So many blood dregs Why am I not Cairnhurst king yet In other note, anybody need help defeating something?
It can drop to 20 and lower during the Loran Camerabeast fight, and the early game mob area, other than that its mostly a solid 30.
I've only noticed fps drops when a snatcher powers up and when you first enter old yharnam and there's all that smoke. I did notice a lot of pop in after it got optimized to not have 30 second long load times.
never been this turned on in my entire life
I really need to buy an actual camera just so I can stop using my phone's shitty camera. I have my PS4 connected to my PC via capture card, then have it transfer a signal back to the TV through HDMI.
I literally have the ps4 by my feet, with the HDMI cord connecting right into the second monitor.
Ah, so how were you streaming the footage? [editline]derp[/editline] Wait, I forgot PS4 has built-in streaming. :v:
streaming using twitch on ps4, managing it using the actual twitch website on the opposite monitor
Yeah I figured that out already. Always preferred capture card over PS4's built-in streaming 'cuz the quality comes out immensely better, not to mention I can always edit the footage afterward. The app must stream at a really low bitrate.
uhhhh.... I just killed the Taurus Demon boss in one hit???? this has never happened before wtf
Yeah man, there's whole runs built around 1 shotting bosses
