this was the plan all along
Watch the sales of the ones without Kojima crash and burn

It's funny because it probably won't even be the lack of quality that causes it, rather the original fans loyalty that will tarnish konami's name.

I'm skeptical, too, but why don't we wait and see what the new team makes?

Kojima has been encouraging the idea of Metal Gear continuing without him after MGSV for a long while now, what's the difference here?

I would genuinely do everything I possibly can to stop that from happening.
DO NOT read his twitter. He's posting his ideas for "his MGS" and of course it's high school tier writing.

It's time to assemble RUSTCAT, they will take over the Konami Headquarters and they demand Kojima and his Studios are returned to their job, otherwise they will launch a hack attack against Konami's servers, replacing all files with pictures of thatcat.
Featuring:
Water Garry
Transforming Rusty
Long Range Shooting Niandra
Telepathic BigDumbAmerican
Pistol Postal
Hephaestus Craptasket

This is already making me sick to my stomach so thanks for the warning.
Honestly nothing boils my blood more than someone who assumes to know what constitutes as good writing even when faced with glaring examples of their failure and fucked up logic. The man does not respect art plain and simple.
I am convinced at this point he's doing anything to get attention. Since it's easy to get praise from people whose bandwagon is built upon rickety wheels he's just gonna do all he can to look like one of them.
I mean does he even understand the integral themes of the series are so vast because of how long it took to craft them or the fact that what makes it work so well is they've got a story spanning decades both in the game world and real world? It's such a monumental feat and having someone, especially burch, attempt to pick it up and put their own spin on it is insane. Fucker probably doesn't even know it's subtle anti-war propaganda.
He evidently didn't take notice of MGS2 because he is exactly the type of trash the AI Colonel talks about. Retreating into his own corner afraid of a larger forum.
Sorry for the rant but fuck me, the cheek of this guy is pathetic and childish.
Here's how I see it:
Kojima is quite literally the most respected and loved developer in the industry. He wont be lost to the wind, I'm sure he has a plan. How couldn't he? It's no secret he fucking hated Konami he's probably been planning his escape for years.

One for one the life of Sakaguchi

Ideally he'd set up his own independent studio but it depends what happens to his team. He needs people who know how/when to back him up because he's too harsh on himself at times, so far they've done pretty well but he evidently wanted out.
If this enabled him to work on other series like Snatcher or ZOE then it isn't so much of a bad thing. Something completely new from him would still be great.
Konami finally spoke up, though they're continuing to dodge the real details.
Konami Spokesman: Director Kojima will continue being the director of the "Metal Gear" Series
Kojima Productions is affected by Konami's reorganization, and it reports that KojiPro's logo has been removed, twitter has been changed to @metalgear_jp, and so on.
Kojima's retirement rumors spread globally, up to and including the revelation that Konami is looking for new staff to continue this series.
Many users have voiced their anxiety on the upcoming release MGSV:TPP, Game*Spark and Konami's Editorial Department has provided some answers:
Will Kojima Productions be disbanded?
Yes. All releases previously made under different studios will be centralized and coordinated from headquarters.
Will Kojima be leaving his position?
Kojima will remain the director of the "Metal Gear" series. He will continue to innovate with new ideas as creator.
What about talks of him stepping down as director? Are those true?
He is still one of our employees, and is continuing to work full-strength on "MGSV:TPP".
And is it true that he has been changed to a contract employee?
We cannot reveal private details.
Is it true that KojiPro's staff have restricted internet and e-mail access?
It is true that the reorganization has resulted in this. This is done in order to provide a greater development environment.
In that case, will Kojima be less available for interviews?
As a result, yes.
To me, their confirmation of the Internet restriction is confirmation of the whole GameSpot anonymous interview. They say Kojima will stay, but refuse to specify for how long and his contracted status. If Kojima and Kojima Productions were going to remain intact, I don't think they would post job apps for a new Metal Gear team.
In short, this is bullshit.
The fuck does restricted internet and e-mail access mean? Sounds pretty bad.
They pretty much are gearing him up to leave. Dodging the question about whether Kojima is stepping down as director like that doesn't give any hope.
The fuck does restricted internet and e-mail access mean? Sounds pretty bad.
Basically they can only communicate with the rest of the development team, and maybe only their section of the team.
But what the hell is restricted internet?
Only stackoverflow?
Can't wait for the topic How do I escape Konami with the top answer being Use boost.
I imagine it's like restricted internet at any other kind of business and school. Or maybe they're trying to prevent people in the company from reaching out to websites about what is happening over there right now.
I assume konami lets the employees go home at the end of the day.
I don't see what restricting internet or email really does.

Company wide internet I would assume. They can access resources from other parts of Konami, even those in other countries, but can't connect to the World Wide Web.
would genuinely prefer the team that made Silent Hill Homecoming make a metal gear game rather than Anthony Burch be allowed to write it
To give Anthony "No Wii U" Burch the benefit of the doubt (Which pains me), he might be joking about the Metal Gear stuff.
Nah, he's sharing his idea for a plot which is a remake of MG1 with cuts of Big Boss training under Boss.

Considering how Double Helix has gotten a lot better since then, that might not be entirely a bad thing.
