I want to try a game in the series, but I can't figure out what game. Any reccomendations for a first timer on Metal Gear?

If you're just interested in catching up for MGSV, then Snake Eater is an okay place to start.

I just think in all honesty we need to realize that not every single facet of an overarching world needs to be explored at grand length and we can drop some plot elements and just close the series the stories taht need to be told have been told what was Snake doing MGS2-4? stuff what was Raiden doing MGS2-4? cyborg stuff what was Meryl doing MG1-4? getting mad gainz what was Boss doing in WW2? saving shit I don't think any of those ideas are important enough to the series as a whole that they desperately need to be expanded on [editline]25th March 2015[/editline] lets be happy with the metal gear we've got which is fucking awesome beyond comprehension and holy shit is V going to be an explosive finale which is already kind of fluff, 3 really does explain Big Boss well enough. It explained him pretty well before Peace Walker or V was a thing. Not saying V isn't going to be cool, I'm going to love seeing Outer Heaven finally get built but I didn't [I]need[/I] to see it you know I maintain 1-4 was everything this series needed with 4 going out of it's way to tie up every possible loose end in the craziest fashion possible

I want the series to end but not the gameplay. The gameplay improved a lot over the year and it played unlike any other series. Other games could learn from MGS and it would be great for it to get a spiritual successor since Splinter Cell isn't what it used to be and there aren't any other good high tech stealth games since Crysis [editline]24th March 2015[/editline] Isn't Jack and Rose's anniversary coming up?

that reminds me I borrowed Blacklist off a friend to try and find something new that was stealthy and wasn't Ground Zeroes ughhh it's just loaded down with such unneccesary bullshit, it's clunky Hitman Absolution kind of sucked as well what happened to modern stealth

so how long until Raiden finally remembers what day it is tomorrow? just started playing mgs2 and Rose won't stop asking also Ocelot is still the coolest fucker ever

he remembers at the very ending cutscene f the game but for different reasons
