Do they really expect the game to sell well if they aren't promoting it properly? [sp]if it isn't revealed that the two goats abducted in previous trailers had a goat family, I'll be super disappointed.[/sp]
I hope the next trailers for MGSV are still directed by Kojima. I feel that Konami would reveal too much or make it look bad.
Wait a second, does this mean MGO is not a thing?
Wait a second, does this mean MGO is not a thing?
The other studio is still working on it as far as anyone knows.
Hand holding. Need to make the less competent feel capable so they'll cough up at full price.
I know Splinter Cell games and MGS have always occupied different player bases and different feels so it's not fair to compare Blacklist to Ground Zeroes but holy shit I'm gonna make fun of Ground Zeroes all you like at least the most effective strategy isn't to plant yourself behindcover and continously whistle until you can CQC takedown every single problem got spotted? move slightly, continue the whistling fishing one of the things I sincerely love about Ground Zeroes that is a departure from the rest of the series that when you fuck up you (I do, at least) feel genuine panic because getting out of a hairy situation is really hard, guards keep their ears pricked up for quite some time and are very attentive as to where you are, there's no giant glowing Snake shillouette or anything, you just have to remember Snake also controls beautifully, (With the exception of cover sometimes, he can be difficult) whereas with Sam Splinter I feel more like I'm barking orders at him not playing him since he almost always moves more or less than I'd like him to more often than not he'll just stand in the middle of a hallway post animated takedown, and I'll get caught at which point I'll just go around whacking guys behind cover and still get a great score at the end /end rant, I'm not loving Blacklist. This is the first splinter cell game I've played and I've heard the older ones are significantly better (Chaos Theory being the best?) so I might try some of them plus I know for a fact in the older games Sam SPlinter isn't voiced by a dude who's pretending he's 50 and there's not a team of college interns helping him fight turrism
Chaos Theory still to this day probably the best stealth game ever made.

really blacklist has more in common with deus ex or alpha protocol than anything else
really blacklist has more in common with deus ex or alpha protocol than anything else
more in common with deus ex because it doesnt suck man AP was such a good game if you take out the gameplay

The guy I borrowed Blacklist from also has Conviction but I don't know, I'm not sold on Blacklist, like I said Ground Zeroes has spoiled me admittedly I've played 2 hours total and all I've done is whistle at guards so I dont know. I'm sure it gets better. I'd like some missions at night so I can use those cool goggles [editline]25th March 2015[/editline] also unrelated to gameplay but I can't stand the characters of Blacklist, I'm sorry if you're a massive Splinter Cell fan and you've grown with them but they're super generically boring to me I can't decide between TOUGH ON THE JOB WOMAN, HOODIE WEARING 20 SOMETHING HACKER COLLEGE KID, RESPECTFUL BLACK SOLDIER MAN and GRUMBLY SECRET AGENT which one is my least favorite. The only guy I like is the arms dealer who's voiced by Adam Jensen.

I was playing someone a mission from Peace Walker the other day to show them how it went and when Big Boss spoke his voice sounded wrong, so it's already started they're erasing history
dude kief is the best tho

Dude, you're not supposed to take out guards in Splinter Cell. I know in Blacklist they give you points for fucking everything but sneaking past everyone is literally the intended and most fun way to play. The first 2 games had levels where you couldn't kill anyone and Chaos Theory would lower your score for killing, or even knocking civilians out on hard. Also as far as story goes Blacklist doesn't do a great job. They tried to make it like a modern serial drama, so everyone is serious. In the older games GRUMBLY SECRET AGENT and TOUGH ON THE JOB WOMAN were a cynical soldier who used dark humour to relieve (or build) tension and a young tech advisor who made fun of him for being old. The other guys are new and should have been handled better.
man, metal gear general, where it's been so long waiting for our own game we have to talk about others [editline]25th March 2015[/editline] splinter cell fans and metal gear fans should get along though I mean we both lost a protagonists voice actor although we got the better end of our deal
the characters were way better in the previous games, only sam and TOUGH ON THE JOB WOMAN returned. but at least none of them are annoying and RESPECTFUL BLACK SOLDIER MAN is pretty viable as a player character (since that seems to be the direction they're going with him)
Briggs would be good as a main character, some more screen time could really let him shine. Plus it would mean we get more of those hard as balls co-op missions, seeing as they wont just let Sam retire.
Chaos Theory still to this day probably the best stealth game ever made.
I cannot agree with this post more. All the other splinter cell games have been a bit hit and miss and mostly not much to write home about, but chaos theory has pretty much the best stealth game play I've ever seen.

Pandora Tomorrow though, fuck that.
CT is so fucking good. I like that you could do acrobatic monkey shit like shimmying on pipes upside then dropping your torso down and grabbing a guard or squeezing inbetween two walls and pushing yourself up so guards walk right under you. Checking under doors with a wire camera or firing a camera at a wall to give yourself a better view. Goddamn CT was awesome. MGS had all this cool future tech but SC was the one with the awesome gadgets that really made you feel like a spy
If Chaos Theory is as good as you all say it is, I'll pick it up. I know there's a console port, is that a Silent Hill HD Collection situation, or a Metal Gear HD colletion (where it's beautiful and plays great)
the thing with blacklist is that I've found it's a speedrunner's wetdream, see how fast you can do missions not getting caught headshotting everyone or hacking 3 terminals so fast they don't even know you were there CT is sadly nothing like hitman, it was an one time kind of game and maybe it's better that way, the formula would get boring fast but condensed in that one slice, it's great anyways, metal gear [t]http://i.imgur.com/dtst9Kz.jpg[/t] an american pie on communist soil big slosh ketchup waitinhuhhh
I actually made that image despite me preferring Chief Kief over Hayter. I also made a few of the other Kiefer shoops that are popular online.

PC would be best.
The console version has smaller levels from what I've been told. PC would be best.
Metacritic puts it at around a 60, so i'll just spring the 10$ for Chaos Theory this weekend or something. I'll let you know. Not like we've got any metal gear to talk about
okay so i've got to armstrong on revengeance difficulty and as always i somehow managed to have no nanopastes getting one shot doesn't even make me feel anything anymore, i think it has become part of me
doesnt' arm strong drop shitloads of paste?
Maybe he doesn't on Revengeance? It's bollocks at the start with no paste but it turns into christmas after you've chopped up the stuff he throws.
